Update on Fire ban: I spoke with the forest ranger of Yadkin County, and You ARE allowed SMALL campfires for cooking and heating purposes only. No bonfires. Charcoal and propane grills are OK too. Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too! Please read the entire listing because I have updated this page. The booking is for 2 people, any guest after the initial 2 or pet will be $10 per night. Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024. Once you arrive at my address... It can be a little tricky. I have 2 driveway entrances. The first entrance that you come to, is the one that is used for hip campers. There is a sign that says"Rocky Top". This is a gravel drive. This drive is a little steep. You just want to make sure that once you start up, you keep going and don't stop until you reach the top. If for some reason you pass that entrance, or you don't feel comfortable going up that drive, feel free to use the asphalt drive. Once you reach the top of the Hill, everything starts leveling out. You will see a barn on your right and a shed on your left, just continue on the gravel Road, site 1 will be the first one you come to on your left. Continue on and you will pass the outhouse on your right and then you will see mountain view straight across from the outhouse.

Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, breweries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

It's all about location!! Mount Sterling Base Camp, ran by Falcon Expeditions, is uniquely situated in one of the few remote areas in the Smokies, surrounded by many recreational activities. This is the perfect place to relax and reset or serve as the base camp for your next adventure! This remote camp is run by Falcon Expeditions, who specialize in remote camping experiences. The property is located bordered by the Pisgah National Forest and is next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Big Creek) entrance. The property is off Forest Service Road 288. Within 4 miles, there is an entrance to the Appalachian Trail, rafting along the Pigeon River, the Smoky Mountain 1000 trail, horseback riding trails, 4x4 trails, multiple hiking trails, horseback riding trails, and so much more! Cataloochee Valley, NC and Cosby, TN are both fun drives (all gravel roads) from the camp. We are happy to share more information with you!

The BEST campground in Brevard. In the mountains, no neighbors, incredibly flat and perfect tent sites, easy access to DuPont and Brevard. The outdoor shower is the best - every thoughtful touch, well planned. If you are coming to the Brevard mountains - this is the place to stay!

Cedar Ridge is a wonderful camp spot. Good surface, trail wide enough for our Sprinter. Camp spots were separated nicely. Porta potty and a heated outdoor shower. Bundles of wood for $10. Beautiful sunset and heard a Great horned owl. And the mountain laurels were in bloom.

We love this place and keep coming back. So clean and private in a beautiful setting, very close to mountain biking and hiking. The small town of Cedar Mountain is very special with a bike repair shop (Hiker and the Hound), and live music at a great cafe (Cedar Mtn Outpost) and a very cool Cedar Mountain Canteen and beer garden! A must stay campground!

Cedar Ridge is an outstanding private campground and a perfect base for outdoor recreation in the area. The outdoor shower was fantastic and the outhouse was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Both were positioned perfectly relative to the campsites. The property is quiet, peaceful, and clearly cared for. Andy, the owner, was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful during my stay. If you’re looking for a clean, well-run private campground close to great hiking, biking, and outdoor adventure, Cedar Ridge is an excellent choice. I will absolutely stay here again.

This was our second stay with Jennifer and Andy. The camp is very well maintained with clean hot shower, water spigot and port-a-potty. Both nights of our trip this time, there were other campers. The privacy between sites is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks again for a great relaxing stay. Andy did meet us the first day of each of our stays.
