Festival season is fast approaching, and we are centrally located for you to take advantage of all the fun festivities! Sites are already booking fast, and we don't want anyone to miss out on the fun!
Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout.
Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. If you have questions about this PLEASE message me prior to booking.
Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too!
All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites.
Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. No porta potties are provided b/tw Dec 15 and March 15

We are 1 mile off of I 40, 17 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 15 min. to Maggie Valley, 10 min to the Elk at Cataloochee, 25 min to Cataloochee ski area, 10 min to Lake Junaluska and 15 min to downtown Waynesville. Asheville is 20 miles to our East.

Twin Falls Wilderness Retreat is a tranquil outdoor paradise immersed in nature, just a bike ride away from DuPont State Forest and all the waterfalls and trails it has to offer. This magical woodland features a majestic 50-foot double waterfall on the property that we call "Twin Falls."
We currently offer four spacious campsites, each with its own fire ring, picnic table, and tent area. There is also a larger communal fire pit, picnic table, and hammock area where campers can relax, connect with each other, and enjoy peekaboo mountain views.
We have a beautiful outdoor heated shower available for a small fee per use, along with a clean, regularly serviced portable toilet. We are pet-friendly, and our fur babies, Leia and Bo, love greeting our guests. We also have a small dog pond available for your furry friends.
We ask that all dogs remain leashed at all times. Pet owners are responsible for respecting other guests by managing noise and preventing disruptive barking. Dogs must never be left unattended.
We also welcome children and have plenty of room for them to explore and play. Please note that we have natural water areas that may be dangerous for children, so we ask that children remain within your line of sight at all times.
Our sites are primitive and do not have electricity. We provide natural mountain spring water from two separate spigots. Because we are located in the mountains, the terrain is uneven and includes several hills. We cannot accommodate trailers or towed campers — tent camping and camper vans only.
This is a true outdoor mountain experience. We are only ½ mile from the entrance to DuPont State Forest via Crab Creek Road/DuPont Road. We are also:
• 5 minutes from Holmes Educational Forest (a favorite for children)
• 15 minutes from Pisgah National Forest and Brevard, NC
• 25 minutes from Hendersonville
• 30 minutes from Asheville, NC
We can accommodate small family reunions or spiritual retreats if all campsites are available at the time of booking. We can also host very small weddings, elopements, or proposals near the waterfall.
All gatherings must be respectful, quiet, and nature-focused. No loud parties are permitted.

Our farm is vast and sparse,
focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike.
Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and wildflowers galore. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.25 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend)
If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close.

The climb up sunrise mountain is bumpy, be warned, and do adhere to the conversation and guidance of the host on the call or in person meeting preclimb. Even though the section titled “the climb” is passed each and every visit by capable awdr and 4wdr vehicles, this does not mean everyone is capable of picking a thought out path. Thankfully everyone of our guest have been wonderful in the over 8 years with zero damage to their vehicles. MSG for more info.

*We do not allow any harvesting of campfire wood or burning of our property outside of the designated fire ring. We use any downed wood on our property for our family to keep warm and to cut and split ourselves to sell to our guest. A “full nights worth” of campfire wood is roughly a 3 x 2 stacked pile of wood keeping you warm all night. Please let us know ahead so we can prepare it for you

The Spruill Farm belonged to the Spruill Family for over a hundred years and has been set up as conservation easement protected land in '23. It includes hardwood forest, swamp, a beautiful swimming beach* on the Albemarle Sound - one of the largest freshwater sounds in the world-, acres of farmland, vegetable garden and perhaps the largest fig orchard for hundreds of miles around. The purpose of the Spruill Farm is to further environmental research, promote ecological education and sustainable practices, and provide access for the public to the ever-diminishing shoreline experience. Please enjoy the incredible sunsets and woodland views, while respecting the serenity of this unique gem on the inner-banks.
Wildlife on the property include Red Fox, River Otter, and 95 species of birds, including Bald Eagles (2 nests on the farm), nesting Osprey, Wood Ducks. Visit the 'Spruill Farm Conservation Project' on inaturalist(dot)org to see all 95 species, and upload any images from your observations.
Because it is a nature preserve, please read the guidelines and rules closely if you choose to book with us.
*Note: the shoreline changes with the wave action and the seasons. The beach is bigger in winter, smaller in summer. These changes make the Bobby Wilkins shoreline trail so beautiful- always changing.

Get away from the crowds. On 300 beautiful acres once operated as a children's summer adventure camp.. There are 3 primitive campsites, 2 cottages, and a horse sanctuary. The campsites are spaced out around the property for privacy. There are port-a-potties. There may occasionally be a real bathroom available.
4WD or AWD is recommended for all sites due to 1/2 mile gravel road and then completely off road for a short distance. Or, if you are bringing 2WD, there is plenty of parking and then walk to your campsite. We don't recommend trying to bring large RV's due to the access.
We have not had a problem with Black Bears on the property. Help us keep it that way. Do not store or keep food in your tent. Don't sleep with food. Keep in mind bears are omnivores much like us. They eat mostly plants but also eat meat. For more info on bear safety, visit www.bearwise.org
Winter camping is encouraged with free firewood. However, you will probably need to park on the gravel and walk to your campsite to limit soil erosion of the off-road trail.
Pets are welcome only at some sites, but please please let us know you are bringing them and they will need to be leashed due to other animals.
A large part of the property is forest with hiking trails, creeks, and wildlife. You can see wildflowers and lightning bugs in season along with deer, turkey, and horses.
And all of our spots have a great view of the sky! We're not far from the Bare Dark Sky Observatory.
The grass horse arena and the pond were originally built for the summer camp. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill and has a chorus of bullfrogs in summer. The arena is flat and has a long range mountain view all the way to Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi). There are also a meadow spot encircled by trees.

My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. There are several state parks nearby and river tubing within 10 -30 minutes. Hot showers and potable water just a few feet away.

Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall!
This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends!
We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee
If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November.
There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund.
Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm.
No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
No fireworks.
No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible)
Do not cut down trees alive or dead
If you move picnic tables please move them back
Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit.
There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down.
The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024.

Animals that call our farm home include alpacas, Katahdin hair sheep, East Friesian milk sheep, beef cattle, Jersey milk cows, miniature donkeys, pasture/forager pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and quail. We also raise honeybees and bottle their honey on site in our honey processing house. We love our animals and being their caretakers.
Farming takes a large amount of time, work, and expense but it can be very rewarding with the slower pace of life, peaceful setting, and quietness in stepping away from the hustle and stress of normal day-to-day life. Here we get to see some of God’s most intricate details in His creations such as a seed turning into a flourishing plant that provides food as well as its own seed for future plantings (Genesis 1:12 - And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind). We watch honeybees who travel for miles gathering nectar to make honey and witness the miracle of life be born. We want the farm to be a place to come and get away, a respite from the all too familiar busyness of normal life to relax and be at peace.

Winding Stair Campground sits at an elevation of 3,380 feet, next to the headwaters of the Nantahala River and is surrounded by national forest and undeveloped private land trusts. The stunning mountain views in a remote tucked-away setting make our farm a perfect getaway!
Just a 15-minute scenic drive from Franklin in North Carolina, easily accessible off Hwy 64, our campground offers a chance to enjoy nature without being far away from the public amenities of a small but well-equipped town.
A few features about our property:
- Working farm: Campers are welcome to meet our Icelandic sheep and take a self-guided tour of our farm, along designated pathways.
- Security: The campground and farm are fenced in on three sides with the river being the fourth boundary. Personal code to the entrance gate will be given at check in.
- Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat.
- Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches.
- Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave.
- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.
- Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Recharge for free at our dedicated EV 50amp outlet when you stay at any of our sites. First come, first served.

Nestled in Pinnacle, North Carolina, and ideally located halfway between Pilot Mountain State Park and Hanging Rock State Park, this unique campground offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Sauratown Mountains. Surrounded by a dense canopy of mature timber, the property provides six well-spaced camping sites designed to deliver privacy, comfort, and a true outdoor experience.
Each campsite borders a 3,500-foot stretch of spring-fed creek frontage and accessed by an all-weather graveled road. Most sites are suitable for pull-behind & fifth-wheel campers, horse trailers, and RVs. Direct access to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail’s Sauratown Trail Section 7, a 25 miles long public trail that connects Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park makes this an exceptional destination for hikers and horseback riders alike, with public trail access available seasonally from January through October.
Every campsite includes two 14' x 14' tent pads, a fire pit ring, and a picnic table, with the exception of Site 1, which includes only one tent pad, and Site 4, which includes three tent pads. A porta potty is available on site and serviced every two weeks to help ensure a convenient and comfortable stay.

Great Hipcamp! The location was close to the bike trails, and the sites were private, shady, and surrounded by beautiful woods. The outdoor hot water shower was awesome after a day of riding, and the toilet was clean. We’d definitely stay here again!

This is an amazing spot. It’s quiet and secluded but, not far from all the attractions. We spent the day playing in waterfalls. Slept like a baby and then headed out early to paddle.
The lighting bugs were a nice addition. Host were super accommodating. The sites are flat. Hot water showers. Clean bathroom. There’s fire wood to purchase on site. Couldn’t ask for more.

Cedar Ridge is an outstanding private campground and a perfect base for outdoor recreation in the area. The outdoor shower was fantastic and the outhouse was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Both were positioned perfectly relative to the campsites. The property is quiet, peaceful, and clearly cared for. Andy, the owner, was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful during my stay. If you’re looking for a clean, well-run private campground close to great hiking, biking, and outdoor adventure, Cedar Ridge is an excellent choice. I will absolutely stay here again.

This was our second stay with Jennifer and Andy. The camp is very well maintained with clean hot shower, water spigot and port-a-potty.
Both nights of our trip this time, there were other campers. The privacy between sites is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks again for a great relaxing stay. Andy did meet us the first day of each of our stays. We also purchased wood from him on this trip. We will be returning for sure.

Weekend Trip to Cedar Ridge Base Camp
Awesome spot for van/tent. Each lot has a fire pit and is really level. Easy access in each lot. We actually stayed at two different sites at this hip camp and both were spectacular. This camp has a clean restroom with automatic light and a super hot shower. They provide firewood at $10 a bundle in case you need it as well. I will say that the only downside was a rooster that I assume lived down the street and may not be aware of when morning is because he woke us up at around 3-4 am both nights 😂 lol

After years of using Hipcamp, this might be our favorite stay yet! The location was perfect and gave us easy access to Pisgah, Table Rock, Caesar’s Head and downtown Brevard.
The site was exactly how it was described and worked perfectly for our stay. The porta potty was extremely clean and there was drinking water available. Our site was flat, private and still had nice views of the field next to it. The fire pit was great and got lots of use from us.
Andy was a super helpful and kind host. It was great speaking with him about the property and local attractions. He suggested the Cedar Mountain Outpost for coffee and we loved it.
We typically go to Brevard and Pisgah once a year so we will definitely be staying here every time we visit! 10/10
