5 nights at Mickelberry Forest Gardens

Easy to find and beautiful quiet setting. Hosts were very welcoming and even checked on my solar charging when it rained for a few days. Would love to come back. Outdoor sink convenient for cleaning up after dinner. Adjacent goats always good for a laugh.

This is a beautiful property. We got there later in the evening, so we didn’t get to enjoy it to the fullest, but just the peace and quiet was wonderful. Ralph was there to welcome us, and made she we had everything we needed. He let us fill our water tank with the hose from his house, and the electric was easy to navigate. He then came over to check on us after we got setteled, and brought Minnie over to say hi! He offered for us to go see the horses, but we were tired from travel and then didn’t have time before heading out in the morning to get home!

We pulled in late in the afternoon …as described, it is a short distance from I 84 . We tucked in under a large tree behind their home. The ground was very level . Jo came right out with the extension cord we had asked to use since the temperature was going down to 23 . Once set up we took a lovely hike up through the woods and agricultural land that border this property. Lovely views ! We will definitely stop in again as it is very hard to find a place to park our camper on the way south from Maine in the winter months. There is a lot to see in the area but we are usually just passing through. Thank you to the hosts .

Beautiful location. Ralph and Minnie (dog) were very friendly and helpful. We were there over Christmas to see family that got sick. Ralph invited my wife and I to spend Christmas with them if we were unable to visit our family. Due to the conditions (single digit temperatures and snow) we did need to use our 4 wheel drive several times.

We stayed one night while traveling home from visiting family. What a beautiful slice of heaven this horse farm is! Ralph couldn’t have been more accommodating with helping us hook up & then gave us a fun tour of the farm! Thank you Ralph & Antoinette! We appreciated your friendly hospitality & will be back in the future, for sure!

(Please contact us with details of your dog.) As we also have puppies of purebred German Shepherd , lets talk if you would like to get one . For children aged 2 to 13, we offer a wonderful playland with organic sand, ample space to explore, a treehouse, and other playground obstacles. Meanwhile, adults can immerse their feet in a river stone bath for a natural massage and enjoy the aroma of cedar wood. Professional masseur is available upon request for additional payment. I bet you never had it better 🤩. Additionally, a little creek runs through the property close by for a 3-5 min walk. Our residence is located in a prestigious town in Connecticut, just 15 minutes from the ocean in Westport and 30 minutes to Stamford. Shops are within walking distance, yet you'll still be surrounded by nature, far from the hustle and bustle of roads and city life. The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. Enjoy a stroll through the meadow trail to breath in morning views and evening fireflies and stars. This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired. This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views. Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets. We are new and growing our amenities so at this time check the overview for available amenities but you can guarantee we won't disappoint.
