We have hot water showers and heated bathrooms in the Owlwood. Use our hand-drawn map to find your way around the farm.
Please drive extremely slowly while on the farm road (7.2 mph), there are kids and critters everywhere, and your car will thank you! Also, we encourage everyone to drive as little as possible while on the farm; why drive when you can walk and enjoy the land?
If you want to sleep in a car, van, truck, or RV, you must contact us ahead of your arrival so we can tell you where to car camp. No cars are allowed in Red Fox Meadow! A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather.
Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound.
Plenty of privacy with screens around the site.
Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Rainy days no problem explore one of our nations pieces of history, Vanderbilt mansion, Theodore Roosevelt home, Montgomery Place Mansion, Poets walk, Ferncliff forest, or Art Omi.

We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat. A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski.

Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

I don’t quite have the words to express how wonderful this camping spot is. Firstly, Tim was incredibly helpful and him and his family have truly built the most beautiful site that is just filled with light and love. There is a tranquility to this place that is palpable. They have almost everything you’d need to camp, whether it’s a stove, grill, solar shower, salt/pepper, cooking utensils, comfortable bedding, clean and bright toilet. Tim was always just one message away. Barely any reception (which is great) so enjoy the rest up there. Can’t wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Hucklebuck Railway Campsites
Highly recommend! We weren't able to swim in the river due to a massive storm prior to our arrival but my family of 5 loved it!!!! Our kids ages 3,5,7 absolutely got the camping experience they were looking for.
This is a site where you don't have to bring much. My husband and I were so impressed on how camp ready everything was. It made camping there such a breeze!
PRIVATE & SERENE and SOOOOO MANY trails to explore. We didn't hear or bump into other campers. This site has great outlined trails and family friendly. Some of the best wildlife and everything was so well taken care of! An outhouse so clean and efficient that it had my kiddos going on their own!
Our family created so many core memories here, I'm sure we'll be back and recommend to all of our family and friends! The directions they provide were spot on and the site even included instructions on how to work everything! We were also guided to our site and got an in depth tour of how everything worked in person. Paula and her lovely family were available to answer any questions or concerns we had! We came, needing to be in touch with nature, and left with so much more! Regulated nervous system check!

We stayed with our 10' teardrop trailer in the "blueberry field." No hookups, bathrooms, porta-potties, etc.--but a beautiful, spacious, quiet, mowed field on the edge of the woods. Very private. Fire circle available. Very happy with it.

My favorite HipCamp experience yet! Laurel was an excellent host. Just 6 minutes outside of Woodstock, a group of 4 of us + a dog had an excellent time around the fire, cooking food and drinking, playing guitar and games and telling stories. They have a screened in gazebo which is perfect if you don’t feel like setting up your tent — we ended up just blowing up air mattresses and sleeping in there! Convenient location, lots of wildlife, close enough to town to not feel super secluded but not a lot of road traffic in the area. Super nice and peaceful. Can’t express enough what a great time we had.

This was a lovely campsite and we definitely want to go back for a couple more nights. It's right on the Empire State Trail and across from the Railtrail Cafe. We ate great vegetarian pizza while listening to lovely gong music. Slept so well on the soft grass under the stars in Red Fox Meadow

Wright's farm never disappoints!
This is our third time camping at Wright's farm, except this was our first time at The Knob.
The spot had a fire ring and a picnic table, the views were absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained.
The only negative issue is that the site slopes at the top where the fire ring is and having the picnic table there is not the best. The flat part is a little further down where you would set up your tent and having the table there is too far for the fire.
Regardless, that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay, we recommend it for the views of the valley and mountains, amazing sunrise, bats at dusk helping out eat all the bugs and a Red Tailed Hawk that lives nearby!
Lastly, I cannot recommend enough going to their shop for Apple Cider Donuts...their beer is very tasty and the staff is warm and welcoming!

What an amazing Hipcamp! Absolutely gorgeous views. Plenty of space for our tents (2) and cars (2). Definitely could have had more people as well. Great sunset spot! We had so much fun watching the people skydiving. The farm store and brewery were awesome. Highly recommend the bread, cheeses, coffee, fruit syrups, jam, wine, and cider. Delicious! I would definitely want to come back in the fall during apple picking season. Porta potty was clean. Easy to find great hikes and swimming in the area. Warming: There was no poison ivy in the cleared camping spot, but definitely do not walk into the fields at all. It’s tempting to wander around but definitely stick to the road if you’re sensitive to poison ivy/ watch young kids! Overall, a wonderful place to stay- highly recommend!

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to stay because there were heavy thunderstorms and we decided to just bike Wakhill River Trail, but not spend the night. That said we did bike right by it and it looked beautiful and I would definitely go back sometime when the café is open. The wakill River Trail was a beautiful bike ride as well.

Amazing and wonderful! Gorgeous views, perfect and cute cows and little sweet apple trees. All around romantic pretty vibes. Most definitely will be back with my girlfriend

This site was exactly what we were looking for- a private spot to unwind in nature, but not have to do all the work of traditional camping. After a previous canoe camping trip, it felt luxurious to have an outhouse, a shower, & a bed. It was convenient to drive to the campsite (the drive up is a steep dirt road but doable). Tim was a lovely & responsive host, welcoming us & giving us a tour, & he even gave us a great recommendation for a nearby creek to swim in (fyi if you decide to walk there, be careful of cars speeding up the road & be prepared for mostly uphill on the way back). Our dogs were able to happily explore off leash, we had a beautiful view to wake up to, & we slept well in a cozy tent that was already set up for us. The host thought of everything, from thoughtful small details to essential camping items (cooking equipment, towels, blankets, lighters, hammocks, etc). There is a large tent and lights over the picnic table and helpful solar lights strategically placed along walkways etc in addition to cute candles for ambiance (which definitely helped keep the bugs away). It's still camping, so expect a few bugs to make it into the tent, know that the outhouse is a bucket with a toilet seat, the shower is a bag of water with a hose, & the bed is an air mattress on a bed frame. If you're good with that, you'll have a peaceful/restorative experience. There's nothing better than waking up to a beautiful view, birds chirping, & coffee on the porch! We'll be back!
