Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. Named during the pandemic, "Camp COVID Site 19" was born out of our desire to camp, as we weren't able to go camping anywhere! This camp is the back half of our property, located in the village of Tannersville. Camp is divided from our personal yard by a fence. The camp is also completely fenced in once the driveway gates are closed, allowing your pets to safely be off leash if you wish! A long stone driveway leads to camp, with a flat spot to park your skoolie, motorhome, or vehicle. There is a creek running along the entire back side of our property, outside of the fenced in area, which you can access by walking a few feet though the gates under the Camp COVID sign. We have a new bon fire pit in the center of camp, and fires are allowed as long as there is no burn ban in effect. Firewood is on site, and can be added on for $10 per night. We have 2 water hook ups and one 15 amp electric hook up on site, we just ask that you do not run an A/C unit as it will trip our main breaker. There is a dump station at North South Lake State Park and Campground only minutes away in Haines Falls. Instructions and rules are posted in the bath house which has an on demand hot water shower and a composting toilet. There is a garbage can for your convienece which is located in the shed which must be kept closed to avoid black bears visiting! There is a covered dried in area to the left of the shed. We have a half barrel charcoal grill with a flat top griddle as well as several grill grates. One of the grill grates also fits over the fire pit if you prefer fire cooking! There is an RV on site that will not be occupied during your stay, please do not enter, thank you! Come and stay and say hi!

3 nights at Fall Water Farm

This little cabin was a nice retreat away from home for a few days. Having bedding provided was a nice touch and the bed is very comfortable. The parking is not far from the cabin (maybe 50-100ft) and the driveway was even plowed very shortly after a few inches of snow fell during my stay. There’s a fair amount of yard space available, great for playing in the snow this time of year, and the steam right outside the cabin door is a pretty sight and sound every time you exit. This cabin is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t like dealing with a wood stove to keep warm, instead a gas radiator controlled by a digital thermostat keeps the cabin warm exactly how you like it, a very surprising but much appreciated bonus I found out after arriving. Overall, this cabin was fantastic, warm, and cozy, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhat easy cabin camping in the winter.

Excellent get-away experience. Exactly as described, put together by folks who are very practically-minded and resourceful. Total peace and privacy with very good comfort in primitive setting. Wood stove was key to cold winter nights, plenty of heating capacity to spare. Gas mantle lights are very nice touch as well. Host is immediately responsive and excellent communicator.

Absolutely wonderful place! The views of both sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, the location is perfect, and the property is very well maintained. Our host, Stephanie, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Grateful Acres is just 25 minutes from great restaurants and coffee shops, and only 5 minutes from the stunning Somerset Reservoir and nearby hiking trails. We loved our stay and would love to come back!

The open secluded space provided was amazing and having firewood on site was top notch. Very beautiful view to wake up too and the trails were great and the trees was so beautiful. Would definitely come back again!! The host was great and showed us where our campsite was when we got there late, 😅 she was nice to wait up. They have hot showers which was great and a cute little farmers market where she had the veggies and eggs there to purchase. Plus there were cows there to see, so cute! Thanks again and would definitely come back again!!

Weekend Trip to Slateville Farm Secluded Camps

My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

1 night at Grateful Acres Vermont

Did one night tent camping while passing through the area on the rainiest night haha. I didn’t meet anyone on site but Stephanie was super fast replying via messages! Tent site was level and clean with a lot of space, there was a fire grate and picnic table and the pit toilet was seriously the nicest pit toilet I’ve used (only pit toilet I’ve ever called aesthetically pleasing!). You do need to drive a 7-mile dirt road to reach the property, it was fine for my Prius (just some very minor washboarding in a few places) but if you also have a city car you’ll definitely be driving a bit slower than Google Map‘s estimate.
