Learn more about this land: A wonderful rustic, private, off-grid get-away, perfect for couples, families, and pups who enjoy camping (log cabin with wood furniture available, you may pitch your tent anywhere on the property - leave no trace). You may see some wildlife throughout the property (including a milk snake that lives in the cabin wall, but is harmless). It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs. There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. After he purchased the land, he spent the next year building the perfect house on top of the hill at the end of our long driveway. We have a beautiful view from our front porch. We have discovered from my Grandmother that this same property happens to be the same property that my Great, Great Grandparents used to farm and cut firewood on. The property is located in the quiet hills in New York's Finger Lakes Region. Just 20 minutes from Keuka Lake and 25 to all the shopping and dining experiences that you could ever want in downtown Corning along with hundreds of NYS breweries and wineries to enjoy during the day. Return to the hill for a quiet campfire in the evening. Their are several nearby rivers and lakes to canoe or kayak, hiking trails all over the region and even in our own backyard! We hope to see you soon! Sites #1, #2 & #3 can easily accommodate any type of camper (tent, trailer, van, RV, motor home, etc.) These sites could be booked for more than just 2 campers. Please contact me if you have a larger group. Site #4 offers the best view! However it is close to our house so if you want more privacy we recommend staying at one of the other sites. But their is plenty of room here for a larger group. Site #5 is secluded by itself on the far side of the field on the right hand side of our driveway. The best way to get to it is to take the road to the end of the field. You will find an vehicle accessible path next to the tree line. Site #6 is the first spot you will find off the driveway it is before the play area and tucked in the trees #6 offers more shade but would be better for a tent. New this year! Windy Ridge Cabin. The cabin can sleep up to 6. Spacious and clean. The cabin sits on the edge of the woods and overlooks the valley to the left.

Weekend Trip to Hawk Meadow Farm

We had such a great stay! The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their sweet pup made the visit even better. The campsite itself was wonderful: spacious, private, and stocked with plenty of firewood, which made our evening around the fire super easy and relaxing. We also got to enjoy some beautiful fall foliage during our stay, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-kept spot to unwind!

Weekend Trip to Round Top Retreat

I spent the weekend at Round Top Retreat alone to unplug, relax, and recharge and it was exactly what I needed. The wood burning stoves did an excellent job at heating the cabin. It got below 40° at night but it was probably 60° inside with the fire going. The stove is also great for cooking. It was a little rainy during my trip so I did all my cooking indoors. The driveway continues uphill past the cabin and turns into a hiking trail. I think it's supposed to connect to the Robinsons Hollow State Forest Trail but I couldn't find it (the official trial head is just down the road). It was still an invigorating 2 mile walk. I spotted lots of birds and a couple deer.

We spent 2 nights and had a nice stay. It was cooler weather so not many people camping, nice and quiet. Rus who manages the campground was awesome. Friendly, helpful, fun guy. Some feedback for the Hipcamp listing, all we got was an address which lead us to a cabin a mile or so away from the actual site. We had to knock on someone’s door to get help figuring out where to go. I had messaged the host early in the day to let them know when we’d be arriving. No response.

Steve's property was beautiful! We were graciously greeted by Lucy and Steve's wife(I'm so sorry to be blanking on her name, she was very welcoming as well!). Our stay was shorter than we would've liked, but following a nice dirt path to get to our site, we came to a nice cleared out space, with plenty of firewood with some covered just in case of rain. I had my wife and 2 year old with me, and it was so nice to sit by the fire, with absolutely ZERO light pollution to see the stars, and nothing but the sounds of owls and other wildlife in the area. We're already looking forward to booking another trip sometime next year!

We loved camping at the Pine Tree site! It was beautiful, quiet and secluded while still being conveniently located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Steve and his wife Anne were lovely hosts and always available to answer questions. Their shop was full of all sorts of treasures from handmade soaps and beautiful cards to tinctures made from mushrooms grown on the farm. The bath house has a composting toilet, cold water sink and shower that is solar heated in the summer. It's beautifully built earthen constuction decorated with gorgeous repurposed glass. Thank you for the much needed get away, we hope to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to Hawk Meadow Farm

Peaceful and secluded campsites. Both existing camp sites seem like they would comfortably fit at least 2 couples if you wanted to double up. The property has great wilderness to wander, and the hosts, including Lucy the sheep dog are all wonderful. The bathhouse is an earthen building with a cold water sink and shower, and a composting toilet. Beware of what you are getting into with that, and you'll be fine if you are used to those things. Both sites have pull-through capability if you are pulling a micro camper like I was, and prefer not to back up with it. Easy drive into Watkins Glen, moderate drive to Ithaca.
