When arriving at Steelhead Run you are greeted by the sounds of Lake Erie. It is a short walk to beautiful Lake Erie and Chautauqua Creek. There are two camp sites adjacent from one another. One is labeled the east side and the other is labeled the west side. They are about 100 feet apart from one another. It is ideal for friends and/or family who would like camp as a group. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away. It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table. Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. This was our second visit and we’ve already booked again for next year! We love being so close to both the lake and the river — it’s the perfect spot to relax. Plus, it’s just a short drive to several great wineries!

What an absolutely amazing sight! from the school to the forest behind, the neighbors with the chickens and birds, the star gazing!!! the old school is so cool!! having the water on sight is so perfect, too!! We will for sure be booking future stays here.

Great place to camp, it was out in the wilderness but at the same time close to everything. Nice large site with a water view. The only thing I wish was the electric was a little bit more heavy duty; but we had no problems. Overall great trip and I’d definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for something different than a resort.

Second time staying here. Was even more beautiful than the first time go to all of the colors of the trees. Brian is a great host and whatever around checking the car hall I was pulling to make sure everything was secure since my husband was not with me this time. Awesome nights sleep.

Steelhead is a very private campsite with only 2 sites. It’s an active Maple syrup area and the trees are Beautiful especially this past weekend. Located between a river and the lake. So relaxing and peaceful. We will definitely be back. Thank for such a perfect getaway!!!

Amazing host! We arrived late and Richard waited up to show us to our site and had a fire going for us. Site was private and spacious. Farm fresh eggs were top notch. Kids loved seeing the farm animals on the property. Don’t hesitate to book!

Clean air and a clean campground❣️Definitely had a hippy vibe to it, and was not far from the highway. The staff was in contact with me right after my same day reservation, and the owner I met was welcoming. There are port a potties and showers available, but they are in the process of building an actual bathhouse. There is also a pet fee to be aware of. I would describe this as rustic camping, so do not expect something like a formal campground with paved parking spots, fire rings, and picnic tables at the sites. Think open farm field, walk in woods camping. I would stay again❣️

Brian's land was truly an oasis on this trip. A beautiful spot by a quiet pond, this pristine campsite gave me the rest and beauty I needed. Brian was so helpful and accommodating, especially since we were experiencing some heavy rain that evening. I'll definitely stay again the next time I'm passing through the area. Thank you Brian!

Perfectly clean and well-appointed improved camp site in a beautiful location. The photos make it appear more private/remote than it is. Think of it as more of a residential spot. There is a trail along tha creak behind the site and people are often walking by. Houses are also close and just across from the sites.. But the creek and lake access are so close, it’s worth having less privacy and a little more noise. (You can hear the freeway in the distance and cars on the nearby road.) We were lucky that there was no one in the spot next to us during our visit so that was nice.

The campsite is tucked away into the natural beauty of the Western New York landscape. Enter the private drive and navigate down into the little piece of tranquility. The property has many different areas to set-up a tent or park a camper and has a private gazebo to enjoy. The property has easy access to I-86, Findley Lake, and Chautauqua Lake. If you are looking for a great place to stay close to Peek’n Peak Resort, lake activities, camping, etc., this is the place for you! There is also a Cabin on the property that does get rented out on AirBnb. I live in Ohio full-time and only visit every other weekend so I may not be there during your camping trip but other guests maybe staying in the Cabin.

Right off Rt 426 (GPS address is 1999 Rt. 426 Clymer NY) and nestled in between the quaint town of Findley Lake and the Peek n' Peak Ski and Golf Resort. There are no RV hookups or sewer connection, but this is a simple place to pull in and camp for a few nights. Sunsets are amazing and is also a large migratory bird (Canadian Geese) path in the fall time. It is truly a sight to see. Site is ~2000 sq ft (50' long x 40' wide) and can comfortably handle a larger RV and/or trailer.
