I live off grid in one of the toughest climates in the US. I have about 15 acres of land bordered by 10,000 acres of wild forest preserve. Locals refer to this area as The Hill because of its unique weather anomalies. I share my experiences with campers in good weather but exist here all year. I am a Qualified NYS Woodland Guide. My actual license is pending the processing of fees and registration. This should be complete by August 1st of this year. I have over a half century of knowledge gained through a lifetime of hiking, exploring and living in this environment. My main focus is the land, lakes, ponds and streams in the lower Adirondack Park. I leave the high peaks, ice climbing and white water rafting to others that choose that speciality. My goal in guiding is not that of a just a follow me and listen guide. I strive to help those interested in learning about and enjoying the outdoors safely so that you take away real life skills you can use once we are done. I did search and resuce work as a volunteer for many years under DEC Forest Rangers. To help contain costs l will allow up to groups of people to participate at one time. Also. If you would like Amish made products, l can arrange that as well. There is a very conservative Amish community in the surrounding area. I consider these people my good friends and l am very familiar with their customs, traditions and lifestyles. Many people are now thinking of doing what we have done. If you so choose, we can schedule time to discuss any of the offgrid issues that may be unanswered in your mind. The original intent was to offer a peaceful place for you to escape for a time. We are a family that travels in our RV fulltime and have created this private oasis for travelers to unwind. This location is in a quiet area in the rolling hills of Morrisville. Our property is a rolling hill with views from the top and a pond and flat area at the bottom, we don't actively mow the hill and large field area, the camping area is mowed. We are 5-10 minutes from a couple of small lakes for boating and fishing and 15 minutes from larger Cazenovia lake. We are also close to Delphi falls that has hiking and a really nice waterfall to visit and walk in. There are other local parks and hiking in the area for things to do. With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history. Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Learn more about this land: A raw, pine forest lining the bedrock banks of Port Leyden's Fowlerville Falls, just inside of the Adirondack park. The former site of one of Georgia Pacific's old logging mills, the property has private access to beautiful water falls, a large swimming hole just off of a large, South-facing rock bank, untamed, clean pine forests, ATV and hiking trails, trout & small mouth bass fishing, many fire pits and areas to camp throughout the property.

Spring, Summer and Fall are the best times to come for a visit. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. We had a wonderful stay at Tilden Hill Farm and site M was perfect for us. The campsite was peaceful, well maintained, and a great place to relax. Our family loved the goats! We also loved exploring the bike trails through the woods-they were a great way to experience the whole property. The little farm market was another favorite with fresh items and products from the farm that made our visit even more special. The farm has a welcoming atmosphere, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into creating a great experience for guests. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with a little extra charm!

Weekend Trip to Tilden Hill Farm

We had a wonderful weekend at Tilden Hill Farm and would absolutely stay again. Our group booked both a full-hookup RV site and a tent site, while several friends booked nearby sites. The sites were well spaced, so no one felt crowded, but it was still easy for everyone to gather at our RV site for a campfire, s’mores, music, and plenty of laughter. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and clearly well cared for. The grounds and outbuildings were well maintained, and the bathrooms, showers, and laundry area were exceptionally clean. The host provided clear instructions that made everything easy to find and navigate. Check-in and checkout were simple and hassle-free, and communication was timely, helpful, and never intrusive. My wife and I were both raised on or around farms, so staying on a working farm with cattle, goats, and chickens was exactly our kind of getaway. We own goats ourselves, but apparently that does nothing to reduce the need to visit someone else’s goats. The market was another nice addition, with beef, pork, eggs, local honey, maple syrup, jams, locally brewed beer, and more. We were happy to support the farm directly. Beautiful surroundings, clean facilities, plenty of room, and a quiet place to relax with friends. We had a genuinely great stay and would gladly recommend Tilden Hill Farm.

Great location for our visit to Cooperstown! We were only there to sleep and shower, but it was cool that there are so many family-friendly amenities. Nice bathhouse.

1 night at Tilden Hill Farm

My wife and I are having a Hip Csmp travelers. Our airstream operates off grid so generally we are in remote locations. Ken‘s place is absolutely amazing. The property is in perfect condition and has all of the amenities. You can tell that Ken takes enormous pride and operating a high-quality facility. I would strongly recommend it to anyone and I can assure you our next time through the area will be back.

Weekend Trip to Cooperstown Beaver Valley Cabins and Campsites

There are many activities and amenities that make this place stand out. Laundry on site and another one across the road if it’s too busy. Nice pool and outdoor games to take advantage of. The only weakness was the wooded campsites needed more gravel as it gets muddy after raining which it did both nights we were there. Overall a really good option for visiting Cooperstown which was only 15 min away.

Very large site. Level pad. This is by far the best rv camp we've stayed at. It's fairly new and well groomed. I'm reluctant to gush how great it is because once it is well known it will be hard to get reservations. :)

Ken was a wonderful host at Tilden Farms. It was our first time staying there, and our first time using HipCamp so we really didn’t know what to expect. Our 2 year old LOVED seeing the miniature goats. We went for a nice walk around the property and purchased some black angus from the freezer. Steaks and ground beef were DELICIOUS! We travel to NH usually once or twice a year. We will definitely be using this as our halfway point for all future travel. Thanks again Ken! Ashley, Andrew and Everett

We had a great stay at this site. It was easy to get our RV into the site, and the spot was very level, making setup quick and stress-free. The location was quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views that made it a relaxing place to spend time. The host was friendly, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. Overall, this was a comfortable and convenient place to camp, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
