4 nights at Cabin in the woods
The cabin set in the middle of Bear Swamp State Forest is exactly what we were looking for a camping adventure during colder weather with a roof over our heads. Off the grid and roughing it is exactly what a person needs with friends or family once in a while. Thank you Cynthia for having us.

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The land was beautiful. The propane lights and wood stove created a charming ambiance. The location was private but not too far from hiking spots and great restaurants. The host was friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more.

Had a great stay at the Birch Meadow Retreat! It was private, quiet, and comfortable. It had everything I needed. Lots of fire wood, space for my dog to run off-leash, a camp stove and things for cooking. The tent was cute and comfortable. Thanks for having me!

The views and the location are fantastic. Sitting around a fire in the early evening, trees ablaze with the setting sun's light. Waking to the sound of a rooster's crow, mist burning off the fields. Picturesque experience.

Had a great time at the camp, it was extremely quiet and pretty. Leafs were just changing colors and the sky was very clear. Would love to come back, the property is for sale and would buy in a heartbeat if I could.

Monica has it dialed in!!! Everything you need is there. The accommodation are superior!!!
A a wonderful experience! The tent was incredibly clean, cozy and inviting. The campsite was Super user friendly. Especially for a 62yr old traveling with her dog 😊. The warm comforter was a welcoming addition as the temps dropped at night. I had a tough time getting out from under the coziness in the morning. The “outhouse” which was impeccably clean and insect free was huge plus!! She even made sure there were fresh flowers upon our arrival. I can’t say enough good things. Many thanks for what will be treasured memories!! 🐾 ❤️ 🌲

I can confidently say this place is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and at ease. The retreat is just a quick 2-minute walk from the car, making it super convenient yet wonderfully secluded, offering the perfect blend of accessibility and privacy.
The star gazing at night was nothing short of spectacular—we spent hours marveling at the clear, vibrant sky and even captured some amazing photos that we'll cherish forever. The retreat was well-stocked with plenty of firewood, keeping us cozy and warm, and the thoughtful touch of fresh filtered water made our stay even more comfortable.
Everything about Hillside Retreat was perfect—a true haven for relaxation and connection with nature. We can’t wait to return to this incredible spot! Highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful, unforgettable getaway.

My wife and I loved the land and the cabin. The host was amazingly hospitable and gave us a tour alongside giving us suggestions on the surrounding areas. The free firewood was a nice touch too! If you want quiet while still being close to something to do this is the place! But if you want quiet with nothing to do, this is also the place. My wife also loved the horses, which you can interact with. We will definitely be recommending this to others!

We had a great time camping at Lydia and Robert’s Hillside Retreat! The spot was isolated with a beautiful view and is great for stargazing if the weather cooperates, which it did. It was very scenic and a great spot to bring your dog for off-leash playing. They provided all the necessary supplies and more, such as cooking supplies, tent and bed, we just had to bring our own linens. The site overlooked a meadow and was easy to get to, just be aware you have to walk up a hill to get there, and Lydia and Robert offered their help to carry our things. It’s a great spot for romantic getaways, so much so that my fiancé proposed to me while we were there!! We will be back!

Great spot to spend some time with few interruptions! Quite quiet most of the time, some neighbors with hunting cabins not within visible range. Got visited by a porcupine on the deck of the cabin one evening (all were unscathed!). Lovely birdwatching and many interesting insects to observe, wildflowers in bloom in August. The orientation of the cabin to the sun makes it a light space. No screens in the windows so timing when to air out the cabin to avoid bugs/bats is needed unless you have screen inserts. Seems like a lovely spot to stay in the winter, I may try to come back!

Absolutely Perfect Getaway!
Roscoe Campground is hands down one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever stayed at! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome — they’re incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell they truly care about the experience of their guests.
The campground itself is spacious, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Everything was spotless, from the campsites to the facilities. There’s plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy the outdoors without feeling crowded.
And the river? Absolutely amazing. Whether you’re fishing, floating, or just sitting by the water taking it all in, it’s the perfect touch of nature that makes this place extra special.
We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and scenic camping spot!

2 nights at Camp Firefly Glamping!!
Well equipped, the tent feels like a yurt and is definitely rain proof, nice selection of books, good lighting, two options of fire pits (one is more like a modular grill). They’re fixing the road so make sure you travel with an SUV and don’t forget to buy your own wood logs. We also appreciated the flowers on vases. Thank you!
