We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. Learn more about this land: A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons. This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring. Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house. The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area. Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach. Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

It was named many years ago and as soon as you arrive you will see why the name was chosen. It has been in our family for almost 100 years. You can still see remnants of the gristmill that use to operate there. Many great memories have been made at the Falls and we now want to share our slice of paradise with you. The rolling creek, a feeder searching for it's mama - the Delaware River - runs down the mountainside and over the rocks to give power and life to the falls. The steady flow makes you think you are far from civilization. But not really - only a short hike and you travel from the falls to a dirt road to a paved highway in a matter of a few minutes. Over thousands of years and a few hundred year floods nature has made this wonderful cave-like formation under and behind the waterfall. The flat rock is a great place to picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the water. The trees surrounding the area make a fitting canopy for this unique campsite. The mountain behind is great for climbing and a short walk down the creek will get you to the base of Jensons Ledges. The ledges are a steep hike up a mountain to a spectacular vista. Definitely worth the time and effort it takes to get there. Come visit our slice of paradise - you will be glad you did.

Weekend Trip to Round Top Retreat

I spent the weekend at Round Top Retreat alone to unplug, relax, and recharge and it was exactly what I needed. The wood burning stoves did an excellent job at heating the cabin. It got below 40° at night but it was probably 60° inside with the fire going. The stove is also great for cooking. It was a little rainy during my trip so I did all my cooking indoors. The driveway continues uphill past the cabin and turns into a hiking trail. I think it's supposed to connect to the Robinsons Hollow State Forest Trail but I couldn't find it (the official trial head is just down the road). It was still an invigorating 2 mile walk. I spotted lots of birds and a couple deer.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Falls

Randall’s site is truly paradise. It’s located in a very private area with gorgeous waterfalls and shallow pools to wade in. The site had tons of amenities including a running sink and shower. There was a large igloo container of drinking water, bbq grill and a heater in the tent as well. We opted to rent bedding and were plenty warm with the blankets provided but were also given sleeping bags in case it was too cold. The heater kept us nice and cozy. Randy was easy to communicate with and responded in a reasonable amount of time. He even contacted me before we left to see what time we would arrive. We ended up getting there pretty late (9:30pm) and he even met us on the main road to lead us to the tent site and show us around. When we got there, a fire was already started in the fire pit. We had the best time and will definitely be back with the rest of our family! Thanks so much for your hospitality Randy!

Weekend Trip to Orchard and Gorge At South Hill

Great stay no one bothered us the site was clean and prepped for us when we arrived and there was extra toilet supplies in the pop up potty tent. There is another tent site maybe 50 ft away. It poured the second night and everything stayed dry within the tent. We didn’t get any super amazing views from the lick brook falls trail and the lake Treman loop but it’s been very dry so the falls/lake were very low

This was our second visit to the cabin, the first being in 2020. It is peaceful and cozy and our weekend was so relaxing. There is all sorts of wildlife in the area. We saw deer, bald eagles, turkey and chipmunks! A great weekend overall!

Weekend Trip to Orchard and Gorge At South Hill

Camping at the cider orchard was a relaxing experience. The bed and raised platform canvas tent offered some comforts of home, but otherwise the site was a typical campsite with a fire pit, picnic table, and chemical toilet. You can see the other site from here if you’re curious. The price was a bit more than other hip camp sites we’ve stayed at for the amenities offered, but the location is convenient near Ithaca which made it worth the price for the weekend. The light that shines through the canvas tent was quite nice, diffused by the white cloth, pretty views of the field from the front door, and it felt safe at night. The nature preserve is literally steps from the site with beautiful trails, which adds to the value of the site, and there were a few finger lakes trail hikers passing by.

Weekend Trip to Canvas Private Glamping Yurt

Heather’s glamping Yurt was perfect! The privacy was beyond amazing and the property was absolutely beautiful!! Heather was very responsive and available for any questions or needs that came up, although the site was so thoughtfully set up, we didn’t even find a need to ask for anything!! We loved discovering the rock wall behind our site and the sunset from that space was really neat. We utilised the farm store on the property for our morning eggs, they were fantastic!! Nothing like farm fresh eggs to start the day off right. We didn't get any milk or meat that was also available there but it was nice to know if we had wanted some, we wouldn’t have to go far to get it! The private heated shower and the flushable toilet will persuade any non-camping enthusiast to come out and discover how wonderful this experience is!! Fire wood is readily available just a hop, skip down from Site 2, where we stayed. Only one lil hop from site 1! I would highly recommend this Yurt camping experience to anyone!!!!!!!

Weekend Trip to Facebook go to Lake Carey Glamping

We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Greg's site. The photos don't do justice to the beauty there or show the extent of the amenities offered (looks like the inside of the tent has been updated since they were taken), everything we needed and more. Just to set your expectations straight, it is not secluded. But still worth it. There were neighbors who made noise when we were there (talking into the night, operate machineries during the day) But surprisingly, it didn't bother us. We couldn't see them and still felt like we had privacy in our own world. There were some boats on the lake but people were friendly and passed by quickly. Some highlights: kayaking, serene morning with the mist covering the lake lifting ever so slowly, lying on the dock looking at the night sky, sitting on the swing watching leaves dance. We also appreciated the clean bathroom just steps away, comfortable bed, Greg's attention to details and especially that he kindly let us check out late. We've been raving about this place to everyone and would return in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Orchard and Gorge At South Hill

We loved this campsite! Everything was set up when we arrived, and it was easy to find with Steve’s instructions. Loved waking up to beautiful birds (hello American Kestrel!) and some sweet sheep friends. Having the FLX trail right outside of the site was perfect- did a great 8 mile loop through Buttermilk falls state park. The cider at South Hill was delicious- being able to walk right down was another bonus. All in all a great stay and we’ll likely return.

This is our second time visiting the cabin. Everything you need is there. No frills, but if you want an experience, relaxing in the woods and being with nature, it is the perfect spot for you.! Our hosts were very generous and responsive to any needs we had. We will definitely go back next year! The Eagles on the lake are always a beautiful sight to see!

What a wonderful experience we had at Camp Earth Connection with the Tiny Cabin! Eshay was great in showing us around, showing us how the tiny cabin worked, and all of the little intricacies. It’s such a peaceful and quiet place to relax and listen to the sounds of nature. We especially enjoyed waking up each morning to all of the crows we could hear calling to one another. Not far from Ithaca either or many State Parks and trails. Wi-Fi was great to have as there was no cell service for us (Verizon). Would definitely stay there again!

4 nights at Camp Earth Connection

My grandson and I ejoyed four days at the storytime cabin. It was clean, attractive, and well equipped. I am 6 feet two inches tall and slept comfortably in the large bed. My grandson slept well in the bunk bed on the other side of the cabin. It was convenient to have the minifridge because I had to keep insulin cold. The desk, chair, lamp, and electric outlets were another nice convenience. Clean bathrooms and showers were perfectly only about 30 yards away. An outdoor kitchen sink and covered picnic table also helped. Peace and quiet were in abundance. Nature amazed and was beyond words. Camp Earth Connection is a wonderful break from the stresses of life! We took several hikes on trails in the adjacent state park and enjoyed the changing colors of the foliage. The trails were well-marked. A mother deer stopped to observe me and then walked off unimpressed. Her two fawns soon followed her. Other guest across an open field were quiet and respectful. Simple clear rules ensured the few guests did not intrude on eachother's enjoyment of nature and the facilities. I highly recommend Camp Earth Connection for an outstanding peaceful experience with nature in peace. Thank you!
