This working equestrian farm is situated just outside the little historic town of Montrose, which has many little quaint stores to wander through.
The farm is situated on top of a hill which has gorgeous views of the surrounding area.
Wonderful trails are maintained through the woods so that you may view the wildlife.
Norfolk Heritage Farm is located just outside the town of Montrose,
PA.
Throughout the year this old traditional town has wonderful celebrations, Memorial day parade, the 4th of July Parade is the largest parade around, Chocolate and Wine festival, Blueberry festival, Strawberry festival etc.

The neighboring Harford Agricultural fair is still scheduled in August, with all sorts of animals, exhibitions, and rides.

Foxglove cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage located at the Equestrian Barn. Completely renovated. Heating and Air conditioning. Book the cottage, and have the ability to pitch tents on the lawn adjacent to the cottage.
Cook over a fire pit or in the grill, the pond is a short walk down the lane from the cottage where you can have access to the boats and fish or just enjoy the peace and quiet while watching the wildlife.
The lawn area will be freshly mowed prior to arrival. The old sites will no longer be mowed and has been left to nature. The pond is accessible depending on the weather by awd or 4 wheel drive vehicles. In this instance it may be necessary in very wet conditions to walk 50 yards to your site.
Site #1 (b) This site is adjacent to 1(a) separated only by a hedge.
This site is perfect as an add on for 1a for large groups or if you wish to have a large camping area all to yourself.
It is suggested that groups of 8+ book both sites at the same time.
This location can hold very large groups, maximum of 30.

This site is on the opposite side of the pond, and is similar to the site 1, the access to this location along a dirt road and is therefore more accessible by a vehicle that does not have all wheel or 4 wheel drive.
These sites are visible to each other but are far enough away to give privacy.
This site can hold three tents comfortably.
Site 1 a and b and 2 may be booked together for either large groups or for just more seclusion.
If a large group books both these sites and you want access we shall accommodate you by mowing a pathway to make each campsite accessible to each other.
Site #3 This site is remote and is only accessible by all wheel or 4 wheel drive when the weather has been wet.
This site is very secluded in a meadow surrounded by woods on all sides, pathways are mowed for your use for a quick walk to the barn and also the pond.
This is a large area and can also hold at least 7 tents.
Please contact us through hipcamp to change the perimeters for you.
Site #4
This site is also remote and is neatly tucked in the corner of a hay field, on the edge of some beautiful woods.
This site is perfect to watch deer and bird-watching.
This site can hold three tents comfortably.
Tanimals.
This is a smaller site and can handle only 2 tents comfortably.
All sites are provided with a table and chairs or a wooden bench, fire pit, charcoal grill, tent and a toilet bucket.
(Please only put septic waste in the bucket since the waste is emptied into a septic tank)
In the event of storms, the indoor arena may be used to pitch a tent
for a night or duration.
Pets welcome on a leash.
Fireworks are welcome from the pond sites.
The farm also a petting farm, with chickens, horses, miniature horses, miniature donkey, dwarf goats, sheep and alpacas,
all are friendly.
We also have Scottish Highland Cows, please be aware, they have electric fence on the inside of the metal panels.
We also have peacocks for you to view.
At the pond there a few boats and canoes,
These are for everyone's use and are free to use, please be
courteous and share.
Campers are welcome to bring their own paddle boats or canoes.
In the pond we have Large and Small Mouth Bass, Perch, and Sunnies.
Feel free to fish, but always catch and release the small ones.

Please feel free to visit the animals at any time, but only enter the animals enclosure while supervised by a barn employee.
These are therapy and petting animals, but still animals, watch fingers!
Horse back riding and Miniature Cart Driving are available in 1 hour increments, these are given for an additional Fee.
The instructor is trained in teaching regular lessons, but also therapeutic riding, and teaching equestrians with disabilities.

Enjoy boating/fishing/swimming in a privately owned, NO MOTORS lake. We have a gazebo at the shore, and an anchored swimming float. Kayaks, canoe, rowboat, and peddle boat are available. Lots of wildlife around the lake to enjoy.
Choose your own campsite; area is amply spaced for several tents. Mowed paths in camping section, with both sunny and shady spots available on both sides of stream.
Campfire ring, water spigot (private drilled well) and electric available on the property. Neighbor cottage partially visible, but our property is pretty secluded and private. Picnic tables and chairs available. The lake and dock area and the boats, gazebo, and picnic tables are all communal.
Well behaved pets okay, leashes may be required.
Mostly level terrain, ample parking area. Very peaceful here.

Our folks bought this property in 1953, and it is still used and maintained by our family. We feel blessed to be able to share it with our children and grandchildren, and offer it to others who may not have such a peaceful and serene spot to relax and unwind.
Parking is in a large gravel area behind cottage. Campsites are located across a small stream, easily accessible (less than a 3 min walk) from the parking area.
Path immediately next to parking leads to a nice camping area alongside stream, farther from lake front. Truck and car-top tents in the parking area may be allowed upon request. We ask that cars stay in the parking area, but there is a wheelbarrow for use in transporting your gear to the spot you choose.
There is no bathroom. (The cottage is private.) You must pack it out, or bring your own portable toilet with disposable liners.
Trash and recycling cans are provided. No shower. But the lake is great for swimming, and very clean!

When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed).
Note for winter guests:
We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes)
Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs.
There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside.
There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed.
Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

This was an amazing trip. The farm had lots of animals, dogs, turkey, geese and ducks. My kids had a great time playing with the doggies and feeding fish in the lake. Frank was such a kind host. He treated us with a welcome platter and guided us in his farm with many interesting stories. The place was very quiet and the mountain was full of colorful trees. We could see lots of stars in the sky at night and could only hear the howling of dogs, nothing else.

I spent 3 nights in the yurt with my 5 y/o son and we had a wonderful stay. All of the details allowed us to camp in easy mode - shower, no need to pack our camp stove and food gear, bathroom, etc. The generator and space heater helped heat the tent up before bed on a 40 degree night! The only note I’d make for others is to pick up dry/seasoned firewood on your way if you can. It was great abd easy to have wood available upon our arrival, but several pieces were pretty green and resulted in a very smoky fire our first night. We grabbed some dry wood at a store the next day and didn’t have the same issue. I wouldn’t consider this a major issue by any means - the yurt and accommodations are wonderful!

The cabin was absolutely perfect in every way. It came equipped with a wood burning stove, electric heater, a well stocked kitchen right down to a can opener. I’m an avid camper and I left most of my stuff in the car.. not needed. The lake was quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. My sons caught a ton of large mouth bass off the dock, in the row boat, and on the kayaks that were provided. An amazing 4 days with both my sons and dogs.

Weekend Trip to Canvas Private Glamping Yurt
This was such an amazing spot to find! The view was amazing, the cows were adorable and the crew was super knowledgeable and informative about the whole process. The site was perfect, secluded with an amazing view of the fall trees and everything we couldve needed from toiletries to cooking supplies. The fresh eggs, canadian bacon, and chocolate milk were incredible! The store was super easy to navigate as well. Salt Springs was less than 10 minutes away, perfect for some hiking in the area. We will totally be coming back next season! Thanks again to Heather and everyone who made it happen!

This is such a cute space! I stayed with my husband and 1 year old French Shepherd. The house was fully stocked with everything you could need….Even for my dog! The hot tub and fire pit were our favorites. Great time over all! It had rained all day for one of the days we stayed but because the house was filled with board games we were able to entertain ourselves all day.

The place is wonderful, we stayed for four nights. It's quiet, and the fishing is excellent.
A great place to relax away from the big cities, just have a blast.
Sherri was very friendly and helpful, and she made sure we were comfortable.She stocked us with firewood to keep us comfortable and warm all four nights. Thank you. The place is clean and wonderful for relaxation. Unfortunately, we couldn't access it with a trailer because there was wet grass and mud. We had to carry our things from the road, but it's manageable and no big deal.
So I definitely recommend this place. Thank you again, we'll definitely be back. Take care of nature.

The Cabin Getaway was amazing. I’m very thankful Andrea was able to accept our booking, it was a bit last minute and she was very accommodating and responsive. We had no problems getting to the location, her directions were clear and easy to follow. We had a great time and our dog who is a bit reactive also enjoyed it, he’s got a lot of energy and I’ve never seen him fall asleep so fast. The area was beautiful, clean and the perfect amount of creature comforts but still gave you the healthy rough feel of camping. Plenty of walking area around the site and did a hike as well.
