Love this place. Great property and amenities. David is really a great guy. Plenty of room. Other campers were super friendly. Dave has a barn he’s converted into a communal space. Great to play ping pong, number pool or just chill and read. My only regret is that I had to leave to get to my next destination.

My family loved tent camping on David's land! The barn is beautiful and super fun. We had a bonfire and enjoyed the stars, owls and bats! David has everything you would ever need ready for guests and is super welcoming! The porta potty's are clean and close. Super kid friendly, easy to find and just really nice owner and land. This is such a great site to stay at, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice spot. Honestly, we’d love to keep it to ourselves, but that would be selfish. There’s plenty of room to maneuver larger vehicles, and the site was well maintained.
If we had one complaint, it would be the noise from vehicles passing by the property. Other than that, it’s a fantastic place to check out. It’s located perfectly for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.

David was an incredible & welcoming host. The barn was magical with mood lights and comfortable places to relax and socialize. I would camp there again.

We loved our stay. (2 adults, 1 dog) It was extremely private. We got to watch 2 beavers eat lily pads all day everyday, a wild turkey family run around, trumpeter swans and many squirrels and chipmunks. Surprisingly no ticks and hardly and mosquitoes (just flys). The trails are very wide, well maintained and easy to navigate. Definitely recommend.

David's land is beautiful-we used the tent area, but the areas for campers and the already set up "teepee" tent were also super nice. He was also such an amazing host, and very accommodating. We also got to meet Juju, and a couple other people staying there who were also very sweet. We didn't think we would use the barn much, but they did an amazing job restoring it, and it was so comfy. We played a lot of table tennis 😂 I give it a 10/10 and we would love to come back some time. Thank you David!!!

We loved camping at Tumbleweed Camp. The location is away from road sounds, David is such a nice and welcoming host, and there are multiple sites. You can park next to your site, or opt to be away from your vehicle. He has 2 clean port-a-potties and lots of space. There is also the most wonderful BARN with a ton of activities! It's hard to explain but he's got a bid TV, games, sitting areas....it's extraordinary. We were only there for one quick night but this would be a great place for a weekend [or longer] get away.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! I had been in search of a secluded quiet camping experience that wasn’t in a campground with other people nearby and this was exactly what I was after! There’s an outhouse, a fire ring, and even access to water if need be! Those essentials makes it the perfect place to get that rugged secluded camp life feel! Directions were easy to follow! It’s located within 10 minutes of Mentor MN which has a gas station with things such as ice and firewood readily available to assist in your camping experience! We also went to maple lake public fishing dock and enjoyed some fishing, and that was only 15 ish minutes from the site! Cody was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend this site to others, and I myself will be back! Thanks Cody!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay here. ❤️ The barn was beautiful, the land was absolutely mesmerizing, and learning the story behind this place made it even more special. I especially loved seeing the ways David honors his brother, Steven. You can truly feel how much love has been poured into this place.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated with nothing but kindness, hospitality, and grace. My mom has terminal cancer, and this weekend was incredibly important to our family. We wanted a chance to simply be together, enjoy the outdoors, laugh, explore, and make memories—and we were able to do exactly that. David was so kind and caring toward my mom and our entire family, and that is something I will never forget.
This truly felt like a little piece of heaven on earth, and the memories we made here will stay with me forever. I absolutely recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to come back again! ❤️
While you’re here, make sure to explore the Detroit Lakes trolls, enjoy the beautiful views, walk the boardwalk in Detroit Lakes, and grab some good food and drinks in town. There is so much to experience!

We had a great stay! Very quiet and beautiful. We had a busy weekend so we weren’t able to take advantage of the many perks and amenities available but David thought of so many things to offer campers. We would definitely stay again when in the Lakes area.

23 ft truck camper
Cody's land was a great spot not far from our travel route. Very quiet and private. A perfect spot for our truck camper. A large grassy and flat area with a charming barn and log cabin for background, truly a little house on the prairie vibe!
