If you are looking for seclusion & privacy, you've found it! Listen to the call of the loons or watch the sunset/sunrise from the dock. This space is perfect for campers that want the comfort of a cozy bed, warm shower & air conditioning but are comfortable using an outhouse, as the camper is not hooked up to septic. I include two kayaks, a canoe & a paddle boat to explore the lake! This 5 acre piece of heaven on scenic Shell lake is conveniently located between Detroit Lakes & Park Rapids. If you are looking for seclusion & privacy, you’ve found it! I include two kayaks, a canoe & a paddle boat to explore the lake! This 5 acre piece of heaven on Shell lake is conveniently located between Detroit Lakes & Park Rapids. The space It’s rare to find peace and quiet right next to the lake like this! Shell lake is surrounded by forests and small lakes. There are plenty of birds to see and hear, from Bald Eagles, Loons, Pelicans, Trumpeter swans and Blue Herons. Look out the camper window and you may see deer, a raccoon or squirrels staring right back at you. You can launch your boat right from the property. There are two kayaks, a paddle boat and a canoe free to use. (Pontoon boat is for rent if interested.) The family dog is also welcome. Please inquire before booking and make sure you check the pet fee box when you do book (or pay when you get to the camper). $50 per pet. I just ask that you follow pet etiquette/rules such as no dogs on inside or outside furniture, no wet dogs in the house. And, as mentioned, let me know ahead of time. Keep in mind this is just a small step up from camping. Just like with regular camping, there may be bugs, mice, spiders, tree debris, wild critters, dust etc. all around you! Limited swimming is available, but the wild rice is abundant and takes over mid to late Summer. It’s a constant battle to keep bugs and critters at bay and we do the best we can, but sometimes nature dictates these things. If things like this bother you, please look for a more modern place. If you want to stay at a place that’s shiny new, pristine and everything is perfectly in place and perfectly clean, this may not be for you. But, this is the perfect set up for someone looking for a very quiet place in the woods next to the lake willing to embrace the simple things in life such as camping.
