We had a wonderful last minute camping trip out to Fischer’s Rolling Hills Farm 🫏 The donkeys were my favorite and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a little taste of farm life. We were able to set our tent up anywhere on the property and had access to a nice clean bathroom and sinks. We also purchased chicken and lamb steaks from their livestock and can’t wait to give it a try! Eggs also looked amazing but we were on a motorcycle so didn’t want to risk riding with eggs 🥚 The property was absolutely stunning and it felt very private and open.

3 nights at Whippletree Farm & Nature Trail

We had a wonderful time on the farm! The cabin was perfect for what we needed. Fans helped to circulate air in summer weather, the beds were comfortable with clean sheets, and the little prep surface and mini fridge made things easy. Very family friendly. We'd recommend repellent and keeping an eye out for ticks as you would in other natural areas. The goats and chickens were a delight for kids and the composting toilet set-up worked well. Thanks to Peter and the family for welcoming us!

Weekend Trip to The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

This location was perfect and we loved the isolated feeling! The animals were really adorable and entertaining, it’s truly a beautiful and serene property. There is a giant turkey guarding the entrance to the property, which made for some great giggles and memories. You can hear some road noise from the camp sites but it’s off in the distance. We did have some miscommunication with the landowner, he made some updates/changes to the listing after we booked and had some conflicting information on there. Just for the record, NO CAMPERS ALLOWED. I know it says RVs and trailers are allowed on the site details - this is not the case.

Highly recommend this site if you want to experience a farm and farm animals. The donkeys were so sweet and friendly! Our trip was cut short because of extreme heat and humidity but I can't wait to go back. I like going through some of the chores with them, meeting their cows and pigs. ❤️ Very kind hosts.

Dan’s place is a true treasure. The land is beautiful, the campsites are separated enough to feel like you are out in your own little spot, and he is close to so many fun spots in the Taylor’s Falls area. Dan himself is so welcoming - greeting us when we arrived, introducing us to his sweet chickens, and giving suggestions for things to do. We would highly recommend this location!

This is an amazing spot to camp. JT has done a great job setting this place up. The kids really enjoyed getting accross Belle creek to get to the cabin. When we arrived the water was high. I brought a raft so I was able to get the kids and the gear across. I would definitely recommend this site and we will be back.

Great place. Very shady, cool camping spot. Some noise from a nearby road but it died down dramatically by the time I was ready to sleep. The biggest challenge was the turkey who liked to play chicken with my truck — a very friendly big fella who just wanted to say hello.

Weekend Trip to Prairie Creek Campground

I highly recommend this Hipcamp! I stayed at Site 3 and looked at the others, three is the best for sure. There’s a drop in the stream there so the water is very audible, plus it’s the last site so it’s the most private between 1, 2, and 3. It also had some grass to put the tent on where the others looked to be mostly dirt, which is fine except if it’s raining. The outhouse is probably a 5ish minute walk away, and it has a sink with soap to wash your hands outside. You can walk into the regional park that the property is surrounded by, which is also nice. Note that cell service is terrible. I was there 6/14 and bugs were not an issue at all but it was drizzly out. Overall I would absolutely return!

Weekend Trip to Stone Creek Farm

Dan’s property is very nice-close to many fun activities in the area. Rain boots were a must due to recent rain. Tent was dry, very spacious and comfortable. The hike to the site was doable for myself and elementary aged kids but it’s a solid 10-15 minute walk - through mud and puddles (we had proper footwear so we didn’t mind!) We had pretty great weather and luckily the mosquitoes were not too bad but I would imagine that can change depending on the temps/weather. Bring your fav bug spray, rain boots, plenty of flashlights and you’re in good shape. Great to meet you Dan! -Claire

Prairie Creek Campground

Hello 2025, Camping Season is Here! Pitch your tent at one of our Walk-In campsites on 60 acres of forest or hilltop prairie along Prairie Creek in Rice County, MN. Explore the creeks, trails, forest, our enormous granite "split rock", a 60 acre county park featuring waterfalls and trails, including a single track mountain bike trail. That's 120 acres of exploring outside your tent; this campground truly offers a large amount of remote forest for recreation right on site. Big Woods State Park is less than 2 miles away. Faribault is 8 miles and Northfield is 9 miles from our driveway; they offer dining, boutiques, and all other amenities. Nerstrand is 4.5 miles east and has a gas station and a fantastic meat market. Numerous Cannon River put-ins are within 10 miles. Vehicles: Our main parking area by sites 1, 2, & 3 is easily accessible. The road to the secondary parking area beside site 4 is up a steep gravel road (but it is accessible). We do not have firewood available at the campground; please plan ahead to bring firewood with you. Sites are priced for one tent, please let us know if you need to have more than one tent. Kids under 16 camping with their parents do not count in pricing. A map of the land is in the photos and shows locations of sites, parking and more. All Sites are Walk-In! We have a cart you may use to haul gear in. This campground is managed by Stephen and Molly on land owned by them and their father Ted. In 1961, Ted's parents bought this farm. In addition to farming they also operated a trail riding stable here. Over the years, the arable land has been sold, but we retained the wooded areas which are twice crossed by creeks. About 25 years ago, a 60 acre county park bordering the south and west sides of our land was created. We are very excited to host campers as a way to preserve and share this beautiful property.

The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! Summer is here! We are a small hobby farm that's located within one hour from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Our farm has wooded trails, bonfire pits, is quiet and very peaceful. Our little town is 10 minutes from most shopping, with multiple restaurants minutes away. We offer multiple locations to camp on the property. There is a concrete pad with (2) 30-amp electric and (2) water hookups. The 2 sites with hookups are very level and easy to park on. There are many other areas to park and camp, with access to water for filling up tanks, and an outhouse for bathroom needs. Beanbag toss, basketball hoop, and ladder game are available upon request. Firewood available for a small fee. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed and under owner's control at all times when outside. Maximum of two pets per site. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely amazing with wildlife all around to gaze at and enjoy.

We are a small family farm. From April-October we make a living on the farm and enjoy rural life. We’re very busy during these months and if you stay with us you may be able to enjoy fresh produce for purchase- we also have neighbors that sell eggs, there is a Meat shop in downtown Lindstrom and 2 miles away is Rod's Country Corner (ice cream, pizza, sandwiches, essentials). So, you could have the opportunity for some delicious camp food while staying here. It is very beautiful with much to see and do. Things to note: 1. There are black bear in the area, please keep food stowed away in your car at night and your campsite clean. 2. Storms pop-up and tents etc. are subject to wind, please be mindful of the weather and any incidents that occur are not liable to the property owners. When you arrive pull up in the driveway we will direct you to your location... and please park your vehicle close to your site. When you are tent camping this can come in handy during any inclimate weather, which can pop up randomly during the summer months. We have a rustic composting toilet for guest use. Please read the instructions on the inside before using. This is a working farm, it can be unkempt or messy- it is also mosquito forward and wood tick forward-please bring bug spray. Many of our past campers have enjoyed the scenery despite being next to a slightly trafficked road. Also, fireworks are very popular with the neighbors in the area around July 4th. Please respect our quiet time, when the sun goes down-so do we. No Smoking Marijuana or Tobacco on the farm, and no pets.
