Mike and Loellen discovered Ruttger’s Camping Resort in the winter of 2005 while driving around the area and scanning websites for trailers. We bought a trailer on a seasonal site and have thoroughly enjoyed our summers here ever since! Our sons grew up on the lake, boating and fishing and exploring the area and we have developed a wonderful lake-family. We have watched Bill and Candy Ruttger build the resort into the beautiful property that it is today and feel privileged to have the opportunity to now share it with you. Under our new ownership and with a new name, Sunset Pines MN in January 2023, we are eager to carry on the legacy created by our friends and mentors. We enjoyed our stay so much! This is a lovely, quiet spot. Easy to find, but no highway noise. Check in was straightforward with great communication from the hosts. You can see the other sites, but they are comfortably separated. Beautiful sunset view from under the giant old oak tree shading our little camper. We were so happy to have had the opportunity to stay and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved this place. The walk to the lake was really only about 3 minutes, on a well groomed path. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. Enjoyed taking the boats out and throwing our lines out a few times. The campsite was clean, large and well kept. Plenty of firewood. Extra bonus having a stocked camper there in cases you forget something. Outhouse was clean and well kept. Our host was a great communicator and had great information! We definitely plan on coming back again!! Thanks for a wonderful place💕

I had a great time with my family at Oak Crest. Having electricity and water hook ups was great! If you are at site 1 or 2 you may need to bring a water splitter to share with the other, however, site 3 has its own water.
The property is quiet with lots of space to hang out outside the site!
Glenwood is also only a few minutes away for anything you may need!

We had a great time! The RV was nice and had a gas stove and sleeps 4 comfortably. Lots of room for tents on the land. The short distance to the lake was awesome and we fished, watched the sunset and swam. The canoe and boat were there to use as well as lots of firewood.

Very peaceful. I was the only camper there at the time. There is water and electric close to the camper. One plus was my phone service, tmobile, was spotty out there but the site had wifi available so I could use wifi calling.

The trees around the campsite are beautiful. Its a great distance between in-town and the campsite, only a couple miles. Plenty of firewood provided. We had a great weekend!

There were some truly magical moments here—the sunset over the pond was stunning, and the nighttime sounds of nature were beautifully undisturbed. I found two perfect trees for my hammock in the shade, and the outdoor shower was a refreshing touch.
Communication with the host was fantastic—super responsive both before and during my stay, which made things much easier.
I appreciated being able to order firewood ahead of time. Most of the wood by the fire pit was damp, but the dry bundle that was included burned hot enough to get the rest going.
A few things did take away from the natural vibe: the pond was too algae-filled to swim comfortably, and the plastic jugs, random porch clutter, and a rusted table and chair disrupted the wild aesthetic. Highway noise was noticeable at times, and it took a minute to figure out which gate to use.
Still, if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with some real beauty and don’t mind a little rustic imperfection, this spot delivers.

This is a place that is perfect for families. We enjoyed reading quietly in our RV site and listening to the kids pal around and have the time of their lives. The manager was very friendly and really accommodating when we had to stay part of a day longer because our camper awning got stuck in the open position. The facilities including bathrooms are clean and well kept. And it's free to use the kayaks and canoe. They also have fishing boats for rent.
