There is a creek that runs through the property and a firepit that is available for use right next to the river. Fall asleep under the stars to the sound of flowing water. We are very flexible with check in and check out times as well. Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife.Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are located along the North Country Trail and only a few blocks from their office as well as walking distance from the Kent county youth fairgrounds
There is several restaurants and breweries walking distance away, joined by a social district as well as several cannabis stores. A dollar store and ice cream shop are 2-3 blocks away. And a country style breakfast restaurant is next door.

This property is the perfect location to stop and relax while you are traveling on the White Pine Trail. We have cabins and campsites with water and electricity. It is centrally located between Grand Rapids and Cadillac. We offer river access, kayaking, bathrooms, showers, and a dump station. This is an old church camp with 14 different buildings. There is a trail that goes down to the river. My goal is to restore all of the buildings to what they once were. I encourage you to come and investigate before it's all done. Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented.
Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge.
Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away.
Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac)
Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from.

We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm.
There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available.
We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

We have an 80 acre homestead on a dirt road with clear, flat places to park an RV or vehicle and woods for camping or hiking. You can camp or park in several places around the property and have complete privacy from the house. You’ll need to bring your own drinking water and there are no restrooms available. There is an RV dump station 5 miles north at McCormicks gas station. Feel free to ask questions. We look forward to sharing our beautiful space with you.
We are two “young” folks with a budding farm and homestead. We have horses, cows, free range chickens, and a load of barn cats around a 100+ year old barn. You are welcome to respectfully interact with the animals, but be careful of the electric fence!
Our rural setting is quiet and peaceful. There is often a herd of deer in the fields at dusk. Yet, we are only ~15 minutes from Lake Michigan and ~30 minutes from Grand Haven or Grand Rapids. The Musketawa Trail is 4 miles directly north.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! It’s beautifully built and everything was well stocked and maintained. Cathy was very hospitable and the pie was incredible. We loved cooking dinners over the fire and walking all the trails. We saw chipmunks, a baby deer, lots of birds, and a fox. Definitely recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
We absolutely adored our stay in the treehouse and were thrilled to watch the farm animals munching away in all the different pastures! Plus, being JRR Tolkien fans, it was a real treat to see the hobbit hole under construction! And with the lake right there, we had a blast getting our paddle boards in the water!

This site is perfect for a quiet, rural camping experience! Fire tools at the site were very convenient, and the property was beautiful! The walk down to Pine Creek is a bit swampy but so worth it to beat the heat. The creek is clear and there were lots of little fish and frogs.

We didn't get to meet with the host Jim, though did talk with some of his awesome employees that greeted us and made us feel welcome. We can tell that the host has many irons in the fire, everywhere we looked there was ground worked in gardens and all through besides the hops garden being the center of attention, even the camp sites had new blueberry plants.
Firewood was stocked at our roomy campsite when we arrived and there was plenty of room to position our little camper but room also for a larger rig. Site comes with a fire ring that was equipped with a swinging grate and a sturdy picnic table, and water in a big bucket to extinguish the fire.
A big bonus is the porta john with a hand wash station, the necessary paper and soap. Of course just nearby are blueberry plants on the path which cover the two-track drive in and walkways.
We didn't take time to enjoy the food truck while there during our stay but there is a nice heated tent and a fire pit that would make a nice way to enjoy the food. Nice also that the camping is separated from the food truck and store. The walk out to the front of the property from camping has a nice herb garden to walk through near the main road.
Inside information = the donkeys may not come see you unless you bring their favorite, cucumbers for treats!
Cool property well worth the money spent and perfect for an rv plus very nice mossy ground for tents also. Just know there is no electric or water at the campsites.

And then a little further walk to the fabulous Biergarten, food cart, market and greenhouse! Super friendly host greeting and food, drink service at the Hot Pot and the bar. WIDE style selection of Michigan beers on tap and in cans. IMPRESSIVE Chicago style hot dogs! Short drive to Fremont, a fun small downtown with an urban hiking path.

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Ed was very welcoming, thoughtful and communicative. He greeted us upon arrival and gave a quick run down of the cabin/land. He even had a fire already started in the cabin as it was a bit chilly.
The grand cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was comfy and the portapotty was clean. There was no one else there when we were there so it was really private. A lovely place to unplug and unwind in nature.
There is plenty of clean water and firewood. There were also a few spices, tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee. There is a pan and grate for outdoor cooking but I suggest bringing a pot, utensils and cooking tools!

Great site for car camping! The site is located just off of a seasonal road, and only one vehicle passed through during my stay. It felt very secluded and private, and I felt very safe as a solo female camper! I loved being right on the water—the view was amazing, and I encountered a lot of wildlife (beavers, bald eagles, turtles, frogs, kingfishers, salamanders, cranes, etc)! I woke up every morning to red-winged blackbirds singing, and fell asleep to the sound of spring peepers (beware if you come in the spring the frogs get LOUD at night—like ringing in your ears loud—so if you’re sound sensitive, I’d avoid a springtime stay, but I love frogs and didn’t mind!) The ground was very wet and soft due to the water level, so that may be something to be aware of for tent camping. I stayed early enough in spring that not much greenery had come in yet, but there were thousands of trout lilies, and I could see the starts of lupine sprouts, cinnamon fern fiddleheads, and water lilies, making it a very cool spot for anyone interested in plant life. With Manistee National Forest so close by, there are lots of beautiful hiking options (I recommend Loda Lake if you are into native wetland plants!), and kayaking the property’s lake was amazing. The host’s family was very welcoming, and offered me a tour to see some of their other sites on the property. I loved that I was able to purchase eggs from the farm, and it seems the owners do some really cool work with their animals and the land.
