We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie & Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and Lake Michigan, 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo and just under an hour from Grand Rapids. Those of you who have visited in the past will notice that we significantly downsized this year. Due to Township and State regulations, we are now limited to offering only four campsites unless we get licensed, which at this time is cost prohibitive. So, we have selected the four most highly rated sites and upgraded them, to truly make your experience here special. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, with walking trails around the property, to include our fish stocked pond and a little tributary of the Black River. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. A free refreshment bar is available 24/7. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack and a hot or cold drink. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (for a fee). We are a working farm and registered as two Non-Profits. One an animal rescue, primarily working with cats. At any given day we have 20-30 cats roaming around the farm. All are under the care of our vet, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and treated for fleas and ticks. All important because they will want to interact with you. Some will want to sleep with you. Our 100 plus flock of poultry, comprised of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, free range during the day, so leave the Prada's at home. If you are staying at Sam's Place, your closest neighbors will Penelope and Petunia, our two female sister pigs. The prevailing winds are down from your site, but you may hear them squabble. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats will love your attention and treats we can provide. Arriving in March is Jack, a miniature donkey...we are very excited! Please try to check-in by 8pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

All sites have a picnic table, firepit and outhouse. Campers are responsible for removal of all other waste. The 2-foot wide stream provides water for washing, but is not considered potable, and use of filters or boiling water is recommended. These isolated sites are beautiful and rustic and nestled in the midst of the Noquemanon Trail Network (cross country skiing and mountain biking) and North Country Trails and are approximately 2 miles from Lake Superior, Harlow Lake and Dead River. 4 kayaks/paddles/life vests and a 12 foot boat are available for camper use. Had a lovely stay at the purple palace! The treehouse is so cute and comfy, and the land is gorgeous. There were many amenities, and Betty was a fabulous host. Great location with nearby hikes, beaches & grub :)

2 nights at Ricky’s Pine River hunt/camp

Wonderfully placed in the woods with everything you need. The only thing I would do differently is to spray something for mosquitoes other than that it was a perfect stay and I was pleasantly surprised by the outhouse. It was relatively clean and not bad ant all, very impressed with my stay. Will definitely come back! Rick was very nice and hospitable…

The site is beautiful. The skydome was comfortable without any added padding, sturdy, and the lights were convenient and fun. The location is easy to get to Newberry. Would definitely stay again!

It was an awesome yurt experience! Just wish the fire pit was a little bigger with better airflow, we had to use a fan to keep it going all night.

Weekend Trip to Ricky’s Pine River hunt/camp

We had a great time here! The cabin was well stocked and kept us warm all night. It was far enough from Rick’s house that it still felt very private, but we knew he was accessible if we needed anything. He was a great host, and we plan to come back again!

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

Beautiful property to explore with littles. Julie provides a great welcome basket for the fire pit. Farm tour is a must to meet and feed all the animals. Close to Lake Michigan / South Haven is fun to explore / good hiking nearby. Would have been a great location for star gazing but we had cloudy skies, the few stars that broke through were bright! Would recommend and we hope to go back with friends.
