We are near a paved road with moderate traffic. The property abuts many acres of woods and there are a number of great walking trails nearby. A half-mile walk behind the house takes you through the forest to an outlook on Leverett Pond. The Peace Pagoda is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby destinations include Cushman Market and Cafe, the Montague Bookmill, and Mt. Toby waterfall, caves, and lookout tower. Leverett Pond has a public boat launch nearby. We have canoes, paddles, and lifejackets available for rent--inquire for details! The area has excellent bike riding as well. Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

4 nights at Berkshire Beech House

This was a nice spot to retreat and recharge. I stayed for four nights in April and was grateful to have heat in the evenings! The hammock setup and picnic table made it wonderful to spend the days outside with the trees and the birds. The path entrance/where to park was clearly marked on the road, and Michael was super communicative throughout. For any HSPs, it's not very far from the road, so know that you can still see/hear cars when they go by from camp (though infrequently). There were some shots from various neighbors on different days, but nothing excessive. So, you're quietly tucked away, but not in the backcountry. ;)

3 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We had a lovely relaxing getaway. Quiet mornings on the back porch sipping coffee while our 16 month old wandered around - following the dog. We would forest bath/hike in the afternoons & enjoy sessions in the sauna while baby naps. Fires & wine warmed us as we reflected about our days under the moon lit sky. This place is so cozy and are grateful for our time spent here.

1 night at Glamping with the Wild Horses

Mackenzie and the rest of the volunteers and staff we met were super friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Terrasphere and it was a really unique experience. The site was really well appointed with lights and electricity and a grill and all the other amenities that we need for the stay which made it really easy for us to set up camp and everybody had a great time. The horses are really beautiful, and the grounds are really beautiful. Would definitely recommend for a family or for a group event.

2 nights at Glamping with the Wild Horses

We loved Wild Ride and MacKenzie was a wonderful host. She was very accommodating and welcoming and we loved learning about the gentling process there, being able to observe her teen gentling class and participate in afternoon feed bags. We did the VIP tour and loved it. The domes are pretty close to each other but we were the only ones there at the time so can't comment on how it would be with others next door. They were comfy and nicely decorated with chargers. It was very cool to wake up to find the herd right near the campsites feeding and observe them. I don't think I would stay again during the winter - or at least would do it differently. The dome was nice and warm with the woodburning stove going but the stove in there was so small we had to feed it every 2 hours so didn't get much sleep. But when MacKenzie heard that she offered to switch us into another dome with a larger woodburning stove and seemed inclined to upgrade the size of that stove in the future for winter camping. There is no running water in the winter season which makes cooking challenging. There is just a cooler there as a hand-washing station but no way to even get water to have a safety bucket by the fire. We would come back readily in the summer but if we were going to camp in the winter we would instead just plan on going out for meals as cooking with the winter setup was hard. Overall a great stay, a unique experience and a great mother-daughter bonding trip! Thanks so much MacKenzie.

Weekend Trip to Moon In The Pond Farm

We had a wonderful time at Moon in the Pond Farm. Dom was so wonderful and helpful. The farm was beautiful and serene. We all loved waking up to see farm animals and have a rare opportunity to interact with them. But the icing on the cake was Chip the dog. He was hands down the coolest dog ever. We will definitely come back!

Had a wonderful weekend on Mary’s land! The Kula Bata Cabin was absolutely perfect for the two of us and our pup! Mary is a great host and has cultivated a beautiful, peaceful space.

1 night at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We had such an amazing stay at Tully Island! It was the perfect little escape to unplug and just be present. We brought our girls and spent our days out on the boat, cooking over the fire, and just enjoying the quiet and nature. It was so peaceful and exactly what we needed. Mary was such a wonderful host so kind, responsive, and thoughtful. You can tell she really cares about the experience of her guests. We’re so grateful for the memories we made here and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Great space and place to hang out, make pizzas in the outdoor oven, and have a fire in the tipi. That was very cool. Sleeping is a little tough, on the narrow sides with pads in the salamander cabin. Couldn’t really tell in the photos, but if you have a camping air mattress, would good to bring it

Mary’s cabin on Tully pond was perfect for a spring break getaway with my girlfriend!! We enjoyed campfires and cooking on the grill and the sounds of the birds. Beautiful views including hiking nearby! Amenities were the perfect amount for a very comfortable experience. We both felt truly happy and enjoyed our stay greatly. Highly, highly recommended.

We liked the seclusion. We were alone in the woods, while only being two minutes to the car and road. Out was nice having the A- frame, table, chairs so we didn't have to bring all our gear.
