30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!

Hawkwood Farm is a historic property in the Catoctin Mountains. The house dates back to 1803. At that time, it is documented that there was a blacksmith shop on the property. There is a functioning blacksmith shop today, as well as an expansive wood working shop. A ;band of rhyolite runs through the property that was used by Native Americans for spear points dating back to the paleolithic period. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. It’s separated into two regions, Rock Run and High Knob, the latter of which looks down upon two valleys and the northern reaches of the Shenandoah Mountains.The park features a sweet 16 miles of trails and a unique stone lodge called the Tea Room. It was originally built by the CCC in the 1930s for community events and gatherings. THE CAMPGROUND IS REGISTERED WITH MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHORT TERM RENTALS LICENSE # STR25-00075. The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites.
Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career.
In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples."

Experienced horse riders can book horse rides for $50/hr. per person. Inexperienced riders must be led using a lead rope. Signed waivers and provided helmets are required.
Our in-ground, unheated swimming pool is open mid-April to end October. $60/hr.

We sit on 17 acres set back from the road away surrounded by the mountains. We are in the hollow and have a small creek running through the woods on our property. We see lots of wildlife and beautiful sunsets. It is very peaceful yet we are very close to Gettysburg for sight seeing and Liberty Mountain Resort for golfing in the warm weather and snow sports in the winter.

We had the best weekend getaway. Loved the views from our campsite and taking walks around the farm. Excellent hospitality and really enjoyed the the distillery tour, tasting and special barrel tasting. Great host & location. Short drive to many distilleries, breweries and wineries. Can't wait to return to visit Pathfinders Distillery in Boonsboro again as well as other new locations.

About Tyme is an excellent campsite on a large private farm, with lots of space and areas to camp on. The host Pamela is very good with lots of information and us very helpful with choices and facilities. There's a beautiful barn on the site, apparently called a "ship barn" for the way the roof was built and shaped like an upside down hull; it's full of birds coming and going all day long. Beautiful views down across the small valley or in the other direction amazing sunrises. The facilities were very good too with 50amp power, extension cables you can borrow if needed and a hose for fresh water. Pamela also provided plenty of firewood as well which was nice. The location is good as well as you're only a few minutes away from Winchester if you want modern life, or you can stay on the farm, enjoy the views, walks and woods and simply relax.

It was a great. It was nice and quiet and private, yet really close to a grocery store and a 7 eleven. There is access to the river if you want to chill by the water. There aren’t any amenities, but it was a lovely private site and well worth the value.

We had a nice time camping at Ellie's Favorite. The site is well-shaded, fairly private, and is equipped with a fire ring. There is no picnic table so you may want to bring a camp table or two. The river is maybe 30 yards or so down a small trail. There is tall grass all around so you'll probably want to watch for ticks as the weather warms up. We had none of that during our stay as it was still a bit on the cooler side. In any case, I would recommend Ellie's Favorite and Riverside Farm by the Monocacy as a whole for a nearby getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This place was pretty fantastic. The roads are so far out and away you may see an occasional car but you'll never hear it. The scenery is gorgeous, big open fields with the sun setting over the hills. Host communicated well and was very polite. They have a cute friendly chicken that would greet me when I went to use the Porto potty they provided, which was also immaculately clean. Would definitely stay again.

This was my first car camping trip and I'm glad we chose this place! location was easy to find, well maintained and vast - ensured we had good privacy. Angela and Erin are great hosts and thoughtful humans. We realized pretty late in the day that our bread (needed for our dinner sandwiches) had gone bad. They didn't hesitate to offer us bread from their home which saved our day!

Had an awesome time at Camp Comus! The host, Juanita, was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We made a nice campfire, relaxed under the stars, and really enjoyed how peaceful and secluded the campsite felt. The property is beautiful and has a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for a quiet getaway close to nature. Would absolutely come back again!

My daughter and I had a great time here. Beautiful view of the mountains. She got to feed the animals. The host provided us with plenty of firewood, and brought over a tarp when it started to rain. It was peaceful and quiet. Plenty of forest to explore. Will return and bring friends.
