We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.

Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.
Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Only an 8 minute drive
Keoka lake has a nice beach with a dock to swim too. !0 minute drive

The Saco river can be unforgiving, and this is an ever-changing site. At any given time, depending on the weather, the water can be high, or low, and this can change the landscape to some extent. We are always making improvements and cleaning the land (cutting dead or fallen trees etc.) so we appreciate your understanding of these rustic qualities!
Hiram is located about 30 minutes from North Conway NH with amazing restaurants and outlet shopping, and about an hour from the coast and Portland Maine. The sweet little town of Cornish is just a 15 minute drive, and Naples and the Sebago Lake area are just a short drive as well! There are several hiking trails nearby. The Mount Cutler Park and Conservation Area is just a 10 minute drive, featuring trails that provide stunning views of Hiram and the surrounding mountains. Or, you can simply go for an evening stroll down the charming, quiet dirt road after your relaxing day on the river!

No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. For the bird watcher there are a multitude of birds in the area making themselves heard day and night. And for the naturalist plenty of indigenous flora to find and study. The site is also miles away from light pollution, so bring your telescope and scour the dark night sky. The White Mtn National Forest is about an hours drive with hundreds of trails. Plenty of lakes to choose from as well. Long trail is just .4mi down the street. They have a hiking as well as a biking trail. Come gather friends and family or lone adventurer around the fire, enjoy a robust meal and recant the days adventure. Firewood sold on site(wood and kindling, $5 a bundle. Cash or venmo). We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest on 6 acres, behind our home with glimpses of the surrounding mountains through the trees.

We loved our two-night stay at Sunrise Cabin! The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and private, and sleeping out on the sunroom was incredible!! We were visited by the sheep herd one morning and got to see them right outside the cabin. We stayed with our two cats who made themselves right at home. Sandi let us come down and meet the horses, chickens, and of course the sheep, which was definitely a highlight of the trip. There was tons of birdwatching (LOTS of hummingbirds), including owls at night. A wonderful place to stay and we will definitely be back!! Thanks again for a great time, Sandi and Brandon!!

We really enjoyed our week at Christine and Tyler’s beautiful HipCamp! Nice and quiet area, beautiful scenery and lots to do! The evenings were so relaxing, with pretty twinkle lights swapped around the trees, lighting strung over the picnic table and all over the grounds with solar lights staked into the ground. The fire pit area is nice and large and they provide a great Solo Stove firepit. Lots of water toys/tubes/kayaks and canoe to use. Very clean camp and a super-clean porta-potty! The tall pine trees made the whole area so private and gorgeous (they also provided beautiful pinecones that I gathered to bring home for holiday crafts, LOL!!) .Our doggie-girls had a blast in the water and we enjoyed the dock to use. If you’re in the 50+ group, make sure to have really good water shoes to navigate the stairs to the water—they are safe, but steep with crushed stone to keep them from getting mucky, which was helpful. We needed this time away and the beautiful location is just what we needed!

This camp site was the perfect set up for two of us. The platform allowed easy tent set up and out backs were thankful to not be sleeping on roots and rocks. There’s a little sink with a large jug for cleaning dishes, a fire pit, and a little private spot for a bathroom! Truly loved this campsite so much and we look forward to returning in the future!

This place is wonderful and so peaceful. The tent is wonderful, super comfortable, and clean. The bedding was soft and warm. And the view was just lovely--especially if you are into star gazing. The yard for each tent is well equipped, well maintained, lots of places to sit and eat. I absolutely loved it. And the bathrooms are immaculate and insanely cute. Look at the pics! There are *plants and books* in there. And Lori the host is lovely too. After ten years of camping in the Whites, I've finally found my spot. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

A group of four of us stayed on Eriks tent site by the the river. Proximity to the river is amazing. Getting to the tent sites is tough (tight trees, stumps, mud)...probably impossible without AWD. keep that in mind if you don't want to haul a bunch of stuff a far distance. The tent site is great for isolation, but the "beach" area is shared with other guests. All of the water related items for use are located quite a distance from the river, so getting the kayaks to the river was kind of a pain, but if you have a truck it makes the stay a lot easier. We had a wonderful time camping even though we got a bunch of rain. 10 mile kayak trip in perfect weather was definitely the highlight.

Bring what you'll need for light, a camp stove, and bedding, though the host has provided everything else you'll need.

Camping right outside on the property made the two nights super easy and gave me access to a great mix of alone timer community activities, like cooking meals, and sharing movie night. This was our second time staying at Sunrise Cabin. We’ve just returned home today and already can’t wait to go back. This farm is incredibly peaceful and makes for a restorative stay. Sandi has thought of everything campers might need to have the comfort of home during their stay and despite the cabins rural location we had every creature comfort. This location allows for all the serenity and privacy you might want and the consideration of hosts who came out during our visit to change a fire alarm battery just to ensure the noise didn’t obstruct our relaxation at the cabin. We brought along our new 4 legged addition to the cabin and Sandi was kind enough to leave a few treats and a doggy towel for him with the upcoming rainy forecast. Both the humans and the k9 on this trip loved taking daily walks on well maintained trails on the property. Couldn’t recommend this stay enough
