Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!)
There is no running water or bathroom on the property so please bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste! The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan.
Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding. There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked.
Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern.
This is a self check-in/out, so expect an easy arrival process (and we'll ask you to please leave the property prepared for the next guest to arrive.)

Welcome to The Field of Faith on Lodge Hill, located in the Western lakes and mountains region of Maine. We are a family run business out in the country on a secluded 10-acre lush field. The area is surrounded by lakes, ponds, state preserves, as well as in-town luxuries. The camp site can accommodate up to 6 people and 3 tents. RV's 20 feet or less are also welcome. The site is privately nestled at the back edge of the acreage and is accessible by vehicle. We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.
There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain right from your site. Here is a link for all Greater Lovell Land trust trails: https://www.gllt.org/five-kezars-reserve
Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.
Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Only an 8 minute drive
Keoka lake has a nice beach with a dock to swim too. !0 minute drive

Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Campsite is held in a small, level clearing of gravel and grass. Surrounded on all sides by tall pines and an assortment of plant and animal life. For the bird watcher there are a multitude of birds in the area making themselves heard day and night. And for the naturalist plenty of indigenous flora to find and study. The site is also miles away from light pollution, so bring your telescope and scour the dark night sky. The White Mtn National Forest is about an hours drive with hundreds of trails. Plenty of lakes to choose from as well. Come gather friends and family or lone adventurer around the fire, enjoy a robust meal and recant the days adventure. Firewood sold on site(wood and kindling, $5 a bundle. Cash or venmo). There are no trash bins as this is a carry in carry out site and please do not burn up trash in the fire. There is a drywell and pit for releiving oneself. Nothing fancy but it works.

Doanne was a very responsive host! Water was ready at our campsite when we arrived, the composting toiled was clean and well stocked, there were 2 tent platforms that were clear and leveled, and the campsite was very private. The campsite was walking distance to a very serene private lake. Our only (tiny) “complaint” is that the picnic table wasn’t leveled. We would stay here again! Thanks Donanne!

I feel so fortunate to revisit this magical place in Maine. Last year I stayed in the bus and this year I was able to experience the wonder that is the new wagon, although wagon hardly describes it.
I felt like a pampered gypsy— connected to nature around me, and disconnect disconnected from my worries. Every detail was perfect from the sheets to the bed to the shower and the sound of the birds all around.
I was able to journal, hike, eat a delicious meal and shop in Cornish, get a deep sleep and return to Portland all in an overnight. Just wish I had more time.
If you want to experience Maine – – real Maine — then take advantage of this remarkable host and spot. I really can’t recommend it enough.

A one word review would truly represent The Queens Property on Thomas Pond; IDEAL! Daniel, the host, was extremely accommodating to our last minute getaway. The site is perfectly laid out for RV ease and convenience. The trails to the pond and dock made our dogs so happy and they thoroughly tuckered out swimming. We will be returning without a doubt. Once again Dan, Thank you creating such a beautiful RV and camping sanctuary!

This place is a hidden gem! Quiet and tucked into the woods but easy to drive up to. Once inside you can see how much love was put into making this place - nothing is cookie cutter, everything is custom made to make this space feel Ike your own little hideaway. The outdoor kitchen is right out the door on the covered porch - complete with Yeti cooler and gas for the grill- I cooked up fresh asparagus and steak, made myself a little fire outside and had the most amazing meal. At night the whole place is warmly lit with twinkle lights and cozy bed. Even the compost toilet is brand new, spotless and set back in its own little spot. (No odor at all!). Shower area out back is also clean and new but I didn’t get the opportunity to try it out.
This place is perfect for a little romantic get away or a solo retreat to get some writing done. Huge value for the price - just the outdoor fire pit and spot is worth it but instead of having to pitch a tent you get your own little cozy wagon to sleep in.

My friends and I had a lovely, peaceful weekend staying at Sandi and Brandon’s property! The tent was roomy and equipped with everything we could have needed. We had some chilly and wet weather, but we stayed dry and cozy in the tent with the wood stove going. We loved watching the horses graze in the pasture in the evening and getting a tour of the barn. We also enjoyed walking the trails on the property. They were very welcoming hosts, but we also had a lot of privacy, and we would not hesitate to visit again!

This was our second year going to Field of Faith on Lodge Hill and our second year of having a great camping experience. Love how peaceful and quiet the area is! Love how clean the camping site is and how clean the outhouse is (only wish it were just a tad closer 😄)! Ken and Jen have a wonderful piece of land and am very thankful they have chosen to share it with others to enjoy as well. Also, absolutely loved having their super friendly pup come out to visit us not once but twice💕!!! We will be back again!

The Queen's Property was a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, far enough from "civilization" to let go of everything and yield to the rhythm of the surrounding woods and water. The property is resourced with full hookup, a nicely graded flat space for our rig, tastefully landscaped, and absolutely private! Daniel greeted us on our way in, showed us to our site, helped us back in, and took us on a tour of the property- which includes access to a small dock and wooded trails throughout the area. Our furry "girls" absolutely loved it! Dan was super nice and responsive, even spending a couple of hours late into the evening addressing an issue with an uncooperative WiFi router (I hate to confess to internet dependency)! Dan is a great host and our communication, like the property itself, did not disappoint. Thanks, Dan for the great 3 nights at The Queen's Property!

Beautiful area and a very well kept, private site.
Hookups are well maintained and well placed for easy access. The lake is gorgeous with both open water as well as beautiful wetlands to explore. We saw Loons, many songbirds and a bald eagle soaring!
Dan, the host, was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. He checked in daily to make sure we were all set and to see if we needed anything.
I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a beautiful place to spend time and relax. I hope to be back someday!

We had such an amazing weekend at Mark and Trish's cabin. They we such great hosts and the cabin and site were fantastic. They truly seem to care about managing the property. Mark told us that they built the cabin themselves from materials primarily sourced from their land. Mark took time to show us around and said we were free to explore the land and any of their buildings. There were also plenty of wildlife sightings. We saw deer and there were so many birds. It was incredibly peaceful. There are lots of hiking and swimming spots nearby. And although we did not use it, there is a bathroom with a shower. On our way out, Mark gave our kids a couple of toys that he makes. Fucking kick ass time and we definitely plan on returning.
