We have an 8X8 cabin available in a small grove on the edge of our homestead/medicinal herb farm. The cabin has a full size bed (bring your own pillows and bedding) with some floor space for a small cot or sleeping pad. The space allows for two adults and two small children, anymore than that would be very tight. The cabin is insulated so the road traffic isn’t bad but it is noticeable at certain hours when the window is open. There is a large parking area with about a 100 yard walk across a lawn and then another 100 yard walk through an uneven wooded trail to the cabin. We have two composting toilet outhouses available for guests use that we take care of on a daily basis.Inside of our large greenhouse, there is a hot water outdoor semi-private shower, only biodegradable soap that we provide can be used. There is also a kitchen and seating area in the greenhouse with a propane grill, toaster oven, microwave and electric kettle and small coffee maker/French press. The greenhouse is a communal space that our family uses as a wood shop and greenhouse space so while the kitchen and shower area are kept clean and clear for guests, the rest of the greenhouse is a working space that can be in various states depending on what projects we have going on. Dogs are allowed but they need to be leashed due to our free ranging ducks and the closeness of the road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles (n a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs. Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Over the course of three years he built the island house by floating cedar logs across the bay, using a come-along to bring the up to the land, debarked and prepped them for building and set about constructing his off-grid, solar powered home. Weekend Trip to Tuttles Homestead

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at this cozy cabin for a long weekend, and it exceeded all expectations — peaceful, rustic, and beautifully nestled in nature. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and provided just the right level of comfort for a relaxing escape. Mark was incredibly welcoming upon our arrival. He personally guided us to the cabin, which sits tucked away behind his home — far enough to feel private and secluded, yet close enough for easy access. He even provided us with firewood, which made our evenings by the fire especially cozy. Throughout our stay, he was respectful of our privacy but checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. His local recommendations were spot on and really helped us make the most of our time in the area. There’s a full bathroom with a warm shower just a short walk down by the main house, which was convenient and added to the “off-grid but comfortable” charm of the stay. Overall, a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. We’d absolutely stay here again!

The lake was warm still, clean, the views were beautiful. We were the last campers of the season so we had lots of privacy. The cabin had a fridge for us, a few basics re: utensils, plates , cups, washbin, an extra blanket, and a pull out couch. A fan, space heater, and toaster/coffeemaker. The space heater worked well at night. The bathroom was close and it had a full kitchen sink to wash, stall shower, toilet stall. There are motion sensor lights at night for the scaredy cats. 3 nights at Hockomock Island

Staying on the island was truly unforgettable! Lisa was so helpful in explaining how things worked and also the stories behind certain aspects! This was particularly interesting as this is an island and cabin with a beautiful and rich history. Every inch of the home is so intentional, and there are also books around where you can learn more about how it was built. It can be hard to find places where dogs are welcome, so it’s also so appreciated that Lisa allows pups. Our Arlo absolutely loved having the freedom to explore this island, and by the time he wanted to come inside in the evening, he was exhausted in the best way! We visited the other end of the island where there is an additional cabin that doesn’t get rented out, and spent some time enjoying the scenery from a rock overlooking the ocean. We absolutely intend to return next summer.

Weekend Trip to Insulated Tiny Cabin

Nice little spot in a great location. A-frame is well insulated and comfy. It was very clean, as was the outhouse. I didn't use the amenities in the greenhouse, but I checked them out and they were as described. I'm likely to start here again as it is a very affordable way to visit midcoast.

3 nights at Spacious Skies Walnut Grove Campground

The campground was great! Not too big, not too small. Beautiful pool, bounce pad and playground. Great hiking train right on the property. Staff was so kind and bathroom is were spotless!

Weekend Trip to Island View At Kiwanis Beach

We enjoyed our weekend in the cabin! Clean, comfortable, and quiet. My sister stayed in one of the platform tent sites. We spent most of the weekend at their site and would walk (or canoe!) back to ours. Sarah was a great host and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back next year.
