We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake. We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain right from your site. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Its 108-acres feature historic cabins and 4000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and marshlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants. My step Dad Bob ‘discovered’ the island in the 1970’s when he was escaping the rat race and looking to get ‘back to the land’. Over the course of three years he built the island house by floating cedar logs across the bay, using a come-along to bring the up to the land, debarked and prepped them for building and set about constructing his off-grid, solar powered home. All without power tools. Both my Mom and Bob were ardent environmentalists and peace advocates. For 20 years they lived year-round on the island and only left when their ages made it difficult to continue cutting/splitting/moving/burning wood and just the ordeal of living so remotely. WELCOME to Happy Hippie Lane Maine! Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :) I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. What an incredible adventure getting to stay in the Magik Cabin! Nick was kind enough to bring our stuff up via snowmobile so we could snowshoe up with our dogs. It was a beautiful, easy walk and well worth it. The cabin is such a cool place with so much to see and great views. We were nervous about being warm but it was -6 degrees at night and we were VERY toasty with the wood stove. The sauna and cold plunge is also a must!

Nick is so great! We stayed on 12/20 at the Magick Cabin Adventure. It was so fun and cozy and a perfect weekend getaway. When we got there he offered to dive our stuff up on his snow mobile since it had snowed. Told us the story of what inspired him to build the Magick Cabin and it was so fun! I love how interactive the experience was. And Nicks ability to use every inch of space in that cabin was incredible. You can tell he put his all into it and all the tiny details. Was incredible to see. The best part was Chaga, his dog, he stayed up at the cabin all night making it feel super safe. He is very friendly and our 3 dogs loved him.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Nectar Sanctuary

We had a wonderful time at the Magick Cabin! We booked the cabin for a weekend get away with the dogs, but never expected to have an “escape room” experience with the puzzles and clues Nick designed into the cabin. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun staying in the cabin and trying to solve the puzzles Nick thoughtfully integrated throughout the cabin! We stayed on a cold night, but between sleeping bags and keeping the fire going, the cabin was warm throughout the night. Overall, we found the cabin to be cozy and inviting. There were sitting areas with beautiful view not to far from the cabin and the out house is a short walk. Chago checking up on us throughout the night was extremely precious and cemented the stay as a great experience.

Weekend Trip to Tuttles Homestead

Mark greeted us immediately when we arrived and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The cabin is clean and cozy. The composting outhouse was one of the nicest I've ever seen! Relaxing by the firepit on a chilly morning was wonderful. Could not have asked for a better stay.

Visit our Remote cabin with all the comforts of home. Cook dinner on the fire pit and then relax and enjoy the warm glow of the lights and look at the stars.

I loved Sandi and Brandon"s cabin! The land is beautiful and you feel miles away and secluded from everyone else. The cabin itself is very comfortable, clean and cozy. They thought of everything! The covered porch was great and we enjoyed our fires in the fire . The sheep came to visit and were peaceful to watch. I 100% recommend staying here. It's so relaxing!

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at this cozy cabin for a long weekend, and it exceeded all expectations — peaceful, rustic, and beautifully nestled in nature. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and provided just the right level of comfort for a relaxing escape. Mark was incredibly welcoming upon our arrival. He personally guided us to the cabin, which sits tucked away behind his home — far enough to feel private and secluded, yet close enough for easy access. He even provided us with firewood, which made our evenings by the fire especially cozy. Throughout our stay, he was respectful of our privacy but checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. His local recommendations were spot on and really helped us make the most of our time in the area. There’s a full bathroom with a warm shower just a short walk down by the main house, which was convenient and added to the “off-grid but comfortable” charm of the stay. Overall, a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Sebago Lake Campground

I loved this place for one major reason: the lake. It's incredible. Super-deep, super-clean and great for swimming. Wish I brought my kayaks! The sites are close together, but if you stay in the Naples Beach area (no RV hook ups there but you can park your RV without them if you want) it's pretty leafy and gives the impression that it's less crowded than it is. Super-quiet in the middle of the day even when the place is packed! The bathrooms are extremely clean and I didn't see one eensy bit of trash anywhere in the campground. i lucked out and my site was really close to the beach and the breeze!
