Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites range in size and privacy and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 2 large campsites, 5 primitive walk in sites, 3 Pick your own sites, 3 park and sleep sites and 2 RV camper sites. Our hip camp sites are set up to be self sufficient. If you arrive after dark you may have a harder time finding a site. We are not always home or awake when you arrive. If our sites are booked, please message me. We have a ton of space and can accommodate you somewhere!
During the warmer months(April-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase.
We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended.
Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping.
The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask
We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. There is hiking galore and more than enough to do for all ages.

Welcome to our peaceful field on a historic 7th-generation farm in Whitefield, NH—nestled in the heart of the White Mountains. We’re near the Heritage Trail and right on the Cross New Hampshire Adventure Trail route—great for bikers and hikers.
Our field offers star-filled skies, monarch butterflies, and frequent visits from deer and other wildlife. We intentionally keep the area wild and unmowed to support native species and maintain the natural beauty of the land.
This is a very rustic, off-grid campsite—best for those who appreciate nature and are prepared to rough it. There are no hookups, electricity, or potable water. An outhouse compost toilet is available (bring your own TP). No showers or dump stations. Please do not dump grey/black water anywhere on the property.
We allow small RVs, vans, and trailers under 24 ft. No 5th wheels. 4WD is recommended but not required. Garden carts are available, upon request, to haul gear if needed.
Important to Know:
No pets (we’re a working farm with chickens and farm dogs).
Fires allowed only in designated pit. Bring firewood (or purchase from us) and always follow fire bans.
Pack out your trash (small bin next to outhouse provided for cans/bottles).
No cutting trees or using the large bonfire pile in the center of the field.
Arrive before dark—there are no lights on site or along the field road.
If muddy, you may need to park at the bottom of the access road.
We rent to up to 3 groups per night, sites are first come, first serve.
Our family farmhouse dates back to the 1850s, with five remaining acres including the barn, fields, and woods. We offer farm-fresh eggs and seasonal produce when available.
Bears & Wildlife:
This is bear country. Store all food, coolers, and scented items in your vehicle. Never keep food in your tent, and keep your campsite clean at all times.

We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest on 6 acres, behind our home with glimpses of the surrounding mountains through the trees.
Private and tranquil- each tent has a queen sized bed with flannel sheets, a light comforter, and a lantern.
The front porch has two Adirondack chairs looking out over the forest. Each campsite has a fire pit, picnic table, and a cabinet filled with basic cook wear, plates and cups, a French press, kettle, and utensils for making meals over a campfire.
Our double-header outhouse is clean and beautiful- a guest favorite!
There is a short 1/8 mile walk through the woods to the camp- we provide garden wagons to tote your gear.

This is a 200 year old farm filled with life. There are well groomed areas and other more wild areas. We are on almost 13 acres of land that attracts all forms of natural wildlife. In addition, we have alpacas, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, a cat and chickens. There is a beaver pond on the lower property.
Each site includes a place to sit and eat (ie. picnic table), fire pit and just breathtaking views. Campers can drive into and park at their site. Each site is separate and private from other sites.

We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged.

Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping.
Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores. If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). This is 35 miles through the White Mountains with no gas stations, so you might want to top off while in Lincoln.
Thirty minutes east is the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and you will pass the historic Mount Washington Hotel on the way. Fifteen minutes south and you can be at Franconia Notch State Park.

Forty five years ago, our family started assembling 400 acres of woods and fields on the banks of the beautiful Androscoggin River. We enjoy actively managing the property for wildlife habitat and tree growth. The diverse landscape includes over 1/2 a mile of river frontage, a 10 acre wildlife pond, rolling hills in the meadows and steep forested terrain with more than 10 miles of multi-use trails running throughout. Our lands have long been open to local hikers, bikers and cross country skiers, we are excited to share this beautiful property with a larger community. Scout for wildlife and birds, on our private 400 acres of forests and fields. Tire yourself by hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing the 10 miles of private trails. Located across the river from Riverlands State Park, just minutes from Lewiston-Auburn, Bates College, local breweries and just 2 1/2 hours from Boston. Wildlife abounds both on the property and across the river at Androscoggin Riverlands State Park.Quite often, a gentle breeze off the water will offer relief from black flies and mosquitoes, but the right bug repellent is recommended especially to fend off those pesky ticks that are so common in Maine.

Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living.
"What should I expect my experience to be like?"
Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property.
Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property.
Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.).
Amenities:
For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.
Breakfast: Pancake mix provided in the community kitchen.
Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. PLEASE NOTE: Towels can be rented for $5, or bring your own for free.

1 night stay Base Cost includes 2 people, However, additional fees of $25 per person per night beyond the base of 2 people.
The last two weekends just prior to Halloween a large regional organization turns an old academy into a 25 room Haunted House..called The Haunting there is a fee and only 5 minutes away. We've been to it a number of times it is great

Tyler’s land was a great spot for car camping! The area was spacious and opened up to a nice field with picnic tables which was a great touch. The wifi access was very helpful! Tyler was very kind and responsive to all our needs. Highly recommend this stay!

What I would like to write here is how horrible the place was, but I can’t because that would be the biggest lie! Slippery rock was amazing! You will find peace and quiet. Canadian geese out on the river. Trails to pass through. And very welcoming hosts !!! I pulled in late at night, exhausted- after a quick dinner climbed into our little bed on wheels and fell asleep. Woke the next morning and all I could say was WOW! The fall foliage was amazing. The field had tall grasses in it that the dog just enjoyed to no end and the sun off the river.. spent that morning in the next day exploring John and his family are amazing!! I cannot wait to go back!!

The campsite was private and on the river bank. It had a private trash bend and toilet that was clean.
John met me at the gate and was accommodating by showing me to the campsite. I didn’t get to hear his story about the property but I hope he and his family are able to continue with the preservation of it.
I did get to hear loons call which brought a sense of nature and what the family is trying to preserve.
It was a wonderful experience and I would love to come back.

We stayed at Peaceful Pines during prime leaf-peeping season. It was a wonderful option for us after nearly all public campsites were booked for the weekend. I only wish we could have looked around more during the daylight!

Overall, awesome place. My wife and I enjoyed the seclusion. Well kept, sheltered from rain, and the background noise of the creek for sleeping was perfect. Only con was the porta potty had been removed for the season already. But accomodations were available about 5 min away. Will definitely be staying here again.

I loved car camping in this spot. Great property, very quiet, and greeted by some really friendly farm dogs 😊. There was running water with a large sink and tables at the kitchen tent and a very clean outhouse. Host was very responsive. Would definitely stay here again. 👍

We had an awesome time at site 3! The water is so beautiful and quite loud. It really does help quiet any road noise you might hear. The space is well maintained, and huge! It was really nice to have a few different spots to enjoy. We did feel that site 2 was a bit closer than we expected, but we lucked out that it was empty. There were two different groups at site 1, but you couldn’t really see anything from site 3.
There was a place just down the street about 200 meters that has wheelbarrows of wood for $10! A lot of wood and it burned so well. Much better value than the other shops that sell smaller bundles for $5.
We also had pizza from Flatbread Co in North Conway, if you’re in that area, give it a try.
I’d say we will be back again, but seeing as we came all the way from Canada, it’s unlikely, haha, but we truly enjoyed this space so much. One of our best site experiences ever.

This place is great! Wonderful drive up site with water and electric right beside a creek. ( I am car camping) Bathhouse was very clean with an actual Hot water shower ( that was nice/ some listings hot water just means not ice cold😂) Property is beautiful and well kept. Host was very responsive and I felt very welcomed and safe here . Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time 👍.

I booked same-day, just a few hours before arriving, and Billy was incredibly accommodating. He even made sure I got to the site okay while he was at work. The property is beautiful, the trails are great for walking, and the campsite was perfect.
It was my first solo camping trip in a while, and Billy was so thoughtful. He made sure I felt comfortable and safe, and he even offered to let me stay past checkout since no one else was arriving that day. His two pups are sweet and adorable, too!
The fall foliage up there right now is stunning, so this is a great time of year to go!!
