Come relax on this private 5 acre waterfront escape. A long driveway will open up into a cleared lot. The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water.
Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent.
We have installed a 50/30 AMP hookup for trailers/RV's - we do charge $15 extra per night for hookups, please coordinate with us at time of booking if you will need power for your camper -

Rustic tent site with fire pit, firewood, picnic table, and outhouse. It is a very secluded and quiet site surrounded by birches, spruce, a young maple stand, and some cute fledgling pines.
There's open space to the south with sight-lines toward Frenchmans and Flanders Bay. To the north, east, and west, there's about 70 acres of tree-growth with some old logging trails to casually bushwhack if you feel it. There's a glacial erractic (big big boulder) not terribly far from the site. Please note that it is possible to get lost if you go deep (though unlikely).
There is proper hiking throughout the area, not least of which is Acadia National Park and Lamoine State Park. But there are hikes even closer. Long Ledges is just a couple miles up the road (off Punkinville, right by the high school). And these trails are ambitious, even connect up all the way to Schoodic Mountain, which in addition to being a great hike on its own, is surrounded by Donnell Pond and Tunk Lake. Further trails throughout and amongst the State Preserve are great. Swim, fish (get a license before doing so), boat (plenty of public landings around to put in a kayak), hangout. Biking is probably best on the carriage roads of Acadia, which are island-side on MDI, or over at Schoodic in Winter Harbor (make a loop starting at Frazier Point). Sullivan has a stretch of the sunrise trail, which is an ATV trail, and which is billed as bike friendly but it's not super great for tires narrower than mountain bikes.
Go eat seafood at Tracy's, less than a mile up the road. Eat some ice cream at Shanahan's Sweet Retreat. Dunbar's Store has a good beer selection, carries an assortment of food stuffs including some vegan options-variety is the spice of life. Young's Market has breakfast Sammy's, coffee, pizza, cigs, fuel.
Check out our 70 acres in tree-growth with some old logging trails. Casually bushwhack on if you feel it. There's a glacial erratic not terribly far from the site. Please note that it is possible to get lost, though unlikely!
Please be courteous and respectful of the land and neighbors. Please be mindful that the Maine region is in moderate drought. Pick up after yourselves. Listen for the wildlife, look before speaking. Enjoy!

Our camp is located on a quaint pristine, offshore Maine island. We are an easy 1 mile walk from the ferry landing once you arrive.
We have a shared use golf cart for our guests to get to and from camp!
Great Cranberry Island is a beautiful peaceful place where the pace of life slows, nature abounds and the stars are bright.
There is a small well stocked general store,, a museum, cafe and miles of pristine trails and rocky beaches to explore. Bicycles can be brought on the passenger ferries and are a great way to get around and further explore the island.
Our camp is on the site of our former organic farm called Cabin Creek Farm overlooking the ocean (a tidal estuary called the pool), where we grew flowers, herbs and veggies.
You can even kayak directly to us at high tide.
The sites are a combo of a mixed manicured deciduous and conifer forest and open spaces with ocean views.

Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.
All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system.
Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions.

A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season.
Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section.
Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions.
Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar.
While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast.
Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2025 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient.
2026 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding.
We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours.
For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp
electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter.
Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

Gorgeous site and amazing island! It’ll be a long time until I’m in a place this wholesome again. We were pleasantly surprised during our short stay by an island music festival called Dockstock. Extremely friendly and welcoming islanders, beautiful event, and a peaceful campsite to go back to at night. We expected to stay on the island at night and spend most of our time on the mainland in Bar Harbor and Acadia, but it was so lovely we stayed on the island the whole trip. Incredible property, we were very moved and impressed by Mike’s personal story of the land’s transformation. Each campsite placement was so well thought out, and we especially appreciated the access to boats, water, and veggies. Even the outhouse was beautiful haha. If you get the opportunity, definitely camp on Bobcat Island. You park and it’s a super simple and quick walk over a short bridge, and the island itself feels very cozy and peaceful. Would love to come back!

Our stay at Mike and Cheryl’s Hipcamp was truly exceptional. We stayed at Goose Paradise, and the site was wonderful, offering a peaceful retreat in nature right on the edge of the pond. We camped with our two children (11 and 15) and our Golden Retriever, and it was the perfect setting for all of us. The campsites were spacious, well-spaced, and offered plenty of privacy. In my opinion, Goose Paradise is the pick of the sites. It's right on the water's edge and next to the Activity Hut, while still being conveniently close to the restroom and spring Our kids loved taking out the rowboat to fish and explore the pond, which added so much to the experience. You can tell that this campground is a true passion project for the hosts and not just a business. What really made our stay memorable was the incredible hospitality of Mike and Cheryl. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and it almost felt like staying with family rather than at a campground. We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We loved our stay. Great view of the cove, level land for a tent, and the shower was wonderful!! The smell of the pine and saltwater along with the isolation made for a great restorative vacation. We saw the eagle several times! The best part is you are only minutes from amenities. We have a 25' trailer, so we had to back in but it wasn't too bad. We also added on the electric because with the recent temps, some a/c is sometime needed. Raphaele was very responsive in any of our communications. Would love to return!

Wow, this site is such a gem! We came here after a week of camping at a crowded campground, and this was such a breath of fresh air- very private and quiet, plus lots of space for kids to run around. The shelter is bigger than expected and also stayed quite cool in the summer heat. My family slept in the shelter and we set up a tent for storing our stuff. We appreciated the little touches like the string of lights and the clothesline. The star gazing was amazing. Fantastic location and was nice to come back to our quiet site after a busy day at Acadia. Jones Pond is a quick drive away and a great spot for fishing, kayaking, and swimming.

The place is really really really quiet and dark during the night. So you can relax, enjoy being with only yourself and also looking at those stars. I personally loves it. Would come back with a telescope to see those stars if i have one.

We loved our stay at the Cedar Grove. Much more secluded than the previous large campground. Outhouse was nice to have. Conveniently had nice dry bundles of wood for sale on site. GREAT for our dog to roam around off leash and explore!

Mike and Cheryl were excellent hosts, and maintain a beautiful property at True Serendipity homestead. We stayed on Bobcat Island for 4 days, using it as our base of operations for Acadia- about a 35-45 minute drive, well worth it to have a peaceful private stay in comparison to the very busy camper grounds on Mt. Desert Isle.
The site was perfect- a good distance away from the other sites for comfort/privacy. The site is a small walk in but you can still park your car quite close, loading in with our dolly was no problem at all on the clean, clear trail.
Restroom facilities were clean, the water from the spring fed well was cool and clear.

Mike is truly a gem of a man who joyfully toils to create a nature wonderland to for all to enjoy. Go and visit and help make his little farm park even more beautiful while you partake of the many gifts from his garden, henhouse, forest, and pond. The frogs and roosters will help you settle into the rhythm of this magical place. We thank him for a wonderful stay!
