Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, wild turkeys, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that sleep 4 people and multiple tent sites. The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season (August) then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding and camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. Local and national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions. On occasion, we have outdoor movies and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks and soak in that downhome country feeling. The cabin had a nice cozy feel in a quiet tucked away woodsy space. Only there for 12 hours, great night of sleep.

We do have a portable solo stove you may use along with fire wood. Just let us know, but use proper fire safety and put out before retiring for the evening.

The property was lovely and the owner's are so friendly and make you feel right at home. Loved all of the animals, especially their beautiful dog, Millie. The solar shower was a treat and there were so many decorations and gardens to see. We left with eggs, veggies and great memories. I would highly recommend and hope to return myself one day!

We easily located Brian's spot and enjoyed exploring the cute town of Luverne as well as Beaver Creek (The Cidery!) as well as Sioux Falls. For larger rigs I would recommend spots 1 or 2. We ended up in spot 4 and we fit in it just fine, but we're not the best at backing up and it took us several tries due to the angle. (That's on us, not Brian!)

We spent two nights on Katie and Chris’s land and we couldn’t have had a nicer time. Both Katie and Chris welcomed us with firewood and stories about their well loved land. The space was peaceful and the free range chickens entertained us. The facilities were great and the outdoor shower was perfect. Highly recommend a stop at this adorable Hipcamp.
