Weekend Trip to Cabins On The Corner-Steinhatchee

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was lovely and we had a relaxing stay. The owners were very nice and helpful! If there was any suggestion, it would be one of the following. Put a picnic table by the fire pit area for those cooking over the fire to eat at OR make a second fire pit behind the cabins in that grass area. That way it's closer to the cabin for easier access of cooking/eating. That was a super minor thing and will definitely stay there again when visiting!

Bowmans Landing was everything and more than we expected! We stayed in cabin 7. It was a short walk to the river and it wasn't a far walk to the showers/bathroom. The grounds were family friendly and beautiful! I will definitely be back!

4 nights at Bowman's Landing

This is my second time camping for 4 days at the primitive sites while recreating in the area. I've stayed at a handful of hip camp stites over the years in the area and bowman's landing is my favorite so far! Showers, bathrooms, fridge, wifi area really upgrades the camping experience. And I love being able to swim off the dock in the mornings and camping right on the river. I'll definitely be back again!

1 night at Glenn Farm

Tom and Judy were the best hosts by far amazing cool people. And very beautiful land me and my bf absolutely loved it we had the whole place to ourselves and Tom took us up to the 200 year old house and gave us a little tour of it and the cave. We got to feed the cows and goats!! It was a very cool experience i definitely will go again.

We stayed at Dunagan’s Meadow and had a WONDERFUL time. Tom and Judy are fantastic hosts. They make you feel like family. ❤️ We got the tour of their property and when we got to the meadow we saw them round up the cattle to put in the other pasture. The sheep were great as were the donkeys. The stars at night were beautiful! We will definitely come back. Thanks so much for an amazing long weekend trip.

In the process of planning another trip to the little slice of heaven. Absolutely gorgeous spot, spent all day swimming in the river. The bathroom was clean, the hosts were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d check in with them when you get there- we were too excited and set up, & started swimming. They offered to drop us off at the start of the river which would’ve been very cool but it was too late in the day & we made the mistake of only booking a single night. I’d also put in Bowman’s landing into the GPS and not the listed coordinates.. that will position you across the river… Excited to come back in a few weeks!!

2 nights at Bowman's Landing

Bowman’s is a beautifully secluded campground on the Santa Fe River. Filled with many tall trees, a canoe/kayak launch, and fishing, several small cabins overlook the river. Only two sites available for RV’s. Two very well maintained bathrooms with showers. Fire pits and picnic tables at each site. Bowman’s is well situated in Fort White close to at least three natural springs. Cons include a very narrow road/bridge leading to the campground and no dump station.

2 nights at River Rise Cottage On the Aucilla

The cottage was extremely clean and well laid out. Literally right over the water, so the view was beautiful and oh so peaceful. We were really able to unplug. Michael and Audrey have really done a great job creating a welcoming, peaceful, clean and comfortable environment. They are excellent hosts.

This is my second time staying here. I love the land, it’s so beautiful and spacious. Tom and Judy are very kind and always make me feel welcomed. This time I stayed next to the cave and it was so magical! Would definitely recommend this spot.

I will be back a thousand times. I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. I love it so much that I debated on even leaving review because I didn't want to give away the secret of how awesome this place is ☺️ I'm not sure if Nancy owns the place or not, but she's an amazing camp host. From the chicken employees, to the comfort station treats, she really has thought of everything possible to make your stay as carefree as possible. The beds were comfy, cabin was cutely decorated, there are grills and utensils to use for everyone and inside your cabin. It was clean. The place was easy to find, and well lit. The people that were staying there were all friendly and didn't mess with you but were available for conversation if you felt so inclined. What a complete gem. This day was exactly what we needed. Can't wait to come back.

3 nights at Bowman's Landing

Awesome campsite. We stayed in primitive site #1 and it was incredibly spacious. We have a 12-person tent so it is quite large and we could’ve have fit at least 2 more tents in the spot. It seemed to be slightly bigger than primitive site #2. It was very private as well. No electricity or water at the site, but the comfort station, bathrooms, and dish washing station are close by. The bathrooms were super clean and nice. The site does have a fire pit with a grill grate and a picnic table. The staff was super friendly. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas as well as at the campsite. We spent lots of time fishing. We dropped a fishing light off the dock and watched giant fish and softshell turtles swim around. We went to Troy Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, and O’Leno State Park. I HIGHLY suggest Ichetucknee springs. Beautiful water, not too expensive, and we even saw a manatee!! We spent hours hiking at O’Leno and barely even scratched the surface. We will definitely be back.

1 night at Skyacres aka the tin cottage

I needed a nights rest at Mr. Leonard. pulled in late. Mr Leonard showed me the site . He showed the shower and bathroom / toilet. I set up right when the sun went down being in a hurry. Leonard secured the gate to his property, big thumbs up!! The gate was reopened in the morning. I took a few pictures because his setup has many details and fulfilled dreams and scapes and tents and all kinds of detail relating to a comfort minded inspirational and useful accouterments by design and setup. You would have to see this place. In one word, nice.

Glenn Farm

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

BBQ grille located on outside deck and propane is provided. There is a gas fire pit on the north river deck and a wood burning fire pit along the riverbank, wood provided. The space River Rise Cottage is set up to offer a relaxing and enjoyable experience to make lasting memories. The cottage has large windows with outstanding river views and a walk around deck that you can fish from. Should it rain, you can enjoy the sound of the rain on the metal roof. Several feet from the cottage is a screened porch overlooking the scenic river, with plenty of comfortable seating and a daybed... should you want to nap. From this location It's not uncommon to see wildlife. A wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening bug free. Take a swing on the open porch, sit riverside at either our propane fire pit or have a campfire (firewood provided) which is also along the river nestled in the woods. We encourage guests to use the outdoor seating areas for the ultimate relaxation experience and to find your favorite spot! Bar-B-Q with our easy-to-use propane grill (utensils and grill pans provided). Our fish station makes cleaning your catch a breeze! Also available a full-size fridge located on the screened porch in addition to the mini fridge in the cottage. Guest access Large open deck with ladder access to the floating dock which is perfect for mooring your boat or launching kayaks. Kayaks are available for guest use. Provided are (2) single person (1) fishing single person and (1) two-person tandem kayaks with life vest. We offer a complimentary shuttle service for the 5-mile downstream Aucilla River to the Gulf of Mexico trip. This can be scheduled after your check-in. Use of the kayaks are at your "own risk" with no host liability. We encourage guest to enjoy the common areas porches at back of main house. Camp chairs are provided and can be used at the fire pit and along the riverbank. A public boat ramp is located within 300 yards north of the property and we have ample storage for you boat trailer during your stay. Other things to note: House rules for children staying at the cottage. We gladly accept children with the understanding that all children thirteen and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times outside the cottage due to its proximity over the river and being in a very natural wildlife environment. This is a strict requirement that will be compulsory. This is for the safety of your children while staying at the River Rise Cottage. We are pet friendly but do require that your pets are not left alone in the cottage. We have different size crates available, and these are provided at no extra charge in the event that you should leave the cottage and choose not to take your fur baby with you. There is a $50 non-refundable pet deposit fee for 1 -2 pets. A guest’s animal must not be: Out of control Unhouse broken. Left alone at the listing without prior approval. Allowed into areas that are considered unauthorized to the guest. Allowed in a public space without being harnessed, leashed, or tethered and not under the guest’s control. You'll get to enjoy the best of both worlds when it comes to land or water adventure.
