We are surrounded on 3 sides by forest, and you can ride or hike straight from any of the many trailheads on property! We offer 30 and 50amp sites, there is a bath house with full bathrooms and laundry, a Community Kitchen you are welcome to use, a screened in Pavilion for meals or hanging out, a POOL! (yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals. If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena. There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?). There is plenty to do on the ranch and nearby the ranch. You will have a blast. We'll see you by the campfire!

Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground is across the street. 20-30 min to Daytona Beach or historic St.Augustine. A little over an hour to Orlando with Disney, Universal and other parks, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral. Whatever your interest is - you can find it around - many of restaurants, wine tasting, fresh food market 7 days a week, NASCAR, Auditorium with performances, water sports, bike week, movie theater, and many more.  We have a water and electricity hook ups for 4 spots. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal.There is a dog on the property. Dogs are ok but have to be cleaned after and be on the leash.Please no loud noise after the dark, no drugs or heavy drinking.Our guests love staying with us " We enjoyed our stay at Roxie’s place. Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Beautiful spot overlooking Lake Weir in The Ocala National Forest. Watch the otters play and count the many different birds that make this lake their home. Treat yourself sunsets every night as the sun disappears into the water and enjoy the awesome reflection of the moon as it sets on the lake. (Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight). We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake. The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock. We also have citronella torches available for rent. We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10. Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible. It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground. We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so. Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people. Each site has its own fire pit. Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews. Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

The farm is absolutely lovely, with goats, chickens, and the most adorable donkey—it really made the experience special. Kathryn and Mike were incredibly welcoming and kind. They greeted us, introduced us to the animals, and made sure we were comfortable, even showing us exactly where to park. It was the perfect place to park our campervan—shady, peaceful, and relaxing. Weekend Trip to Family Farm Close to Everything!

We loved staying on this farm! We really enjoyed the highland cows, donkeys and very friendly dogs. I highly recommend adding on the animal feeding option - it was a riot! The hosts were super knowledgeable and friendly. The area is beautiful and very safe. It was a great stay!

What a great experience! Lovely space with gracious hosts. They were immediately available and helpful while also giving us plenty of space to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful private setting. It was great to have site hook ups and it was easy to get in and out. We were camping for our anniversary and Jeep Beach but there is plenty to do close by. Relaxing by the lake is wonderful too! We definitely recommend and hope to visit again!! Thank you!!!

Weekend Trip to North Shore Relic Ranch

We had an amazing stay at North Shore Relic Ranch for my birthday weekend (April 24–26)! Even though we arrived super late, James made everything seamless and welcoming and having our tent already set up was such a thoughtful surprise. The campsite was spacious, peaceful, and well-equipped with everything we needed. James was incredibly responsive (firewood in minutes!) and gave great local recommendations. Our kids’ favorite part was feeding the goats and chickens, petting the cats, and exploring all the cool relics around the property. Such a fun and unique experience! We left with full hearts and can’t wait to come back 🤍

We loved camping on Kathryns farm. It was so charming with lots of interesting things. A cute Gypsy trailer. a small cabin and two places for camping with a tent or a small camper. They had a lot of animals on the property. Chickens, turkeys that follow you everywhere you go like a pet, goats, a donkey, and a pig. There is so much I loved about this place and would stay there again

Very Friendly, very close to town and to Deland Airport (Skydive Deland). Very dog friendly and whole area fenced in. very friendly farm animals, with a turkey that loves to be rubbed. Bring ear plugs if you like to sleep in. There are plenty of roosters. The area to park the RV you must back into the spot from off the road but it's easy. And it is very shaded. Would definitely stay here next time I'm in town.

The Tangerine Hidaway Hipcamp Florida is an amazing Hipcamp! It has very good energy, and it's an actual campground in the woods, rather than just someone's backyard. These are new facilities with ongoing new development, and it has an outdoor shower (rainfall showerhead in cobblestones) that is no less than amazing, and the bathroom is very nice and always clean as well. The campsite are fairly private and generally quiet. They have decent cell service for Verizon, I get three bars all the way on the back side of the camp. I truly believe this is the best Hipcamp in all of Florida, and you need to visit this one! The camp hosts are amazing, extremely accommodating, and kind. I flew my sons into Orlando so we could all watch the Artemis II launch together. My oldest son is a musician, but was unable to bring his guitar and tiny amp onto the flight, so he had to leave it at home. We were setting up camp when Sam, one of the Camp Hosts, drove by. We began chatting, and my son mentioned that he was This was amazingly cool! Weeks after my sons flew home, my son is still amazed that Sam would've done that for him, and will not stop talking about it. I highly, highly recommend this Hipcamp!

AMAZING!!! I can't say enough honestly. Our family goes to Orlando a couple times a year and have always stayed at the bigger campgrounds, Fort Wilderness, Margaritaville, etc. This was the most quiet, peaceful place we have ever stayed in Orlando. The people that are there we so nice and polite, and it didn't even seem like we were in the city at all. The site set up is awesome and the hot tub was my kids highlight lol. I will return over and over. The convenience of the location is near perfect to everything. Ginger was superb, and helpful with recommendations nearby as it was my wife's birthday. We can't thank you enough. Bottom line, AMAZING!!!!

If you love "old Florida", this is the perfect spot off the beaten path but close to Mt. Dora. Very wooded camp sites with huge old oak trees. Quiet and relaxing. At night, the frogs and crickets will put you to sleep. James was a wonderful host and there if you need anything. It was fun to walk around the Relic Ranch and see all the cool things they have collected. The campground itself is a large loop you can walk around under the trees. The boat ramp and trail are a very short walk to the end of the road just outside the campground. I will definitely be back!
