Our stay at site #1 in our teardrop camper was seamless. The site is perfectly flat and the power source very convenient. Eric greeted us on arrival, and then we enjoyed a very nice walk on the trail behind the barn. Friendly horses, beautiful setting, everything well marked - these folks know hospitality!

What a great site. Has to be my favorite camping site so far. Well kept and secluded without feeling to far from others. This morning as the sun came up, I've never heard so many varieties of birds singing before. I should've recorded it. I will be back in a few weeks.

Weekend Trip to Destination Farnch

We had an amazing time at Mike’s camp, even when it rained one night! There was plenty of firewood available, and the space was vast enough to accommodate a large group. We were upgraded to Phoenix Landing, which is more secluded and away from road noise—definitely a great spot for a peaceful getaway. We visited at the end of winter and could already tell that the area would be lush and beautiful in the summer. There’s a nice walking path on the property, perfect for a leisurely stroll. While there is a bathroom and shower on-site, we didn’t use them since we were only there for two nights and brought our own setup. The campsite was clean and well-maintained, and the land at Phoenix Landing was leveled, making our tent setup super even and comfortable for sleeping. There’s also a platform available, but we opted for a more primitive camping experience. We met Mike at the mushroom factory, and he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and polite. Checking in and out was a breeze, and whenever we needed to communicate, he was always available and responsive. Overall, we had an awesome experience and would highly recommend this spot!

Honestly was pretty surprised how good this was for $30 a night. Don't get me wrong, these are primitive tent/RV sites so no electric or toilet access or anything, but it's behind a beautiful restored bed and breakfast, there are horses and stuff, walking trails behind. The sites themselves are clearly marked with lit up markers and are in a beautiful country field. I booked this with like a 2 hour notice and was able to just come in, set up, sleep, and leave the next morning. Quick responses from the owner with questions, too.

Wonderfull place. It is very quiet. There is a trail, an old railroad track, that you can walk a long way. Will come back for sure, if we come this way.

Great campsite, Eric is very friendly and even came out to make sure the ground wasn't too soft. Isn't the most private campsite as you don't have tree cover but still quite and peaceful. The horses were beautiful to see and the surrounding towns and hikes are well worth it.

Even in the middle of winter, this campsite provided an amazing outdoor experience. The solitude and quiet made it one of the most relaxing trips we’ve had. It was cold, but with the right gear—warm layers, firewood, and a good sleeping bag—we stayed comfortable. It's also close to NYC. We’ll definitely be back for another trip!

We really enjoyed our stay. The campsite was private, well-maintained, and provided plenty of space. The directions to get to the site were clear and we were able to set up camp late at night. This site provided the quiet and seclusion we needed to escape the overstimulation of New York City.

This was my 4th time here but the first winter camp. Molly was a great host as usual, and I always enjoy camping here. The regular campsite near the orchard was hard to access due to ice and snow, but Molly directed me to another spot that's more accessible. My dog and I had a great time :)

This place is even prettier than the pictures! The host Suzy is especially sweet and greeting me upon arrival. The stay was private and picturesque, and the horses are a special touch. There is a walking trail that leads to the tent sites and to what I believe is an established long biking trail that replaces an abandoned railway. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area, close to convenience in Washingtonville, and easy to get to rt17 and i87.

The camp is at the base of Wawayanda mountain right between the iconic hikes "Stairway to Heaven" and "Pochuck Boardwalk" on the Appalachian Trail. Hike right from camp up to "Pinwheel Vista" (named one of NJ's best viewpoints!) At the entrance to the property is the Valley Farmers Cooperative that sells local grass fed meats and artisanal farm goods. You can walk two minutes to Heaven Hill Farm which has plenty of goods, produce, and fun fall activities like pumpkin picking and haunted hayrides. Drive your car from route 94 directly to your campsite nestled in the woods with a great view of the valley. A perfect getaway from the city with plenty to offer. About 10 minutes down 94 is the beautiful town of Warwick or about 4 minutes in the opposite direction is the town of Vernon. Warwick is a quaint small town with plenty of great restaurants and bars, and famous for its apple picking. Vernon has plenty to offer as well including the popular ski resort/waterpark Mountain Creek and Minerals Spa (Located just under 10 minutes away.) The quiet charm of Wawayanda State Park appeals to hikers, campers, swimmers and boaters. Forested hills surround Lake Wawayanda creating a restful backdrop for canoeists and fisherman, while steep mountains challenge casual as well as serious hikers. A twenty-mile stretch of Appalachian Trail runs through the park, while the top of Wawayanda Mountain offers sensational views. More than sixty miles of trails are marked in the park.

Menlo Pond

Menlo Pond is our 10 acre property where we live in the old 1885 farmhouse. There is also a large old cow barn on the property and a 2 acre pond. The HipCamp spot is down in the back of the property near the pond. There is a small beach with a dock and also a floating swim-to dock out in the middle of the pond. We share our flat bottom boat, canoe, standup paddle board and our kayaks. You can have a campfire in our firepit and use our outdoor grill.
