We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to our north), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. The property line is fenced and/or marked, we ask that you stay on our property and keep close contact with your kids and your dogs leashed, or nearby, for their safety... due to abundant wildlife, as well as neighbors with horses and cattle.

We are making this campground more for families and family reunions, or friends that want to be together yet have your own space. It’s high with trees and rocks, beautiful views and amazing starry nights. Camp sites 1 2 3 4 are fairly close together for a family or to circle the wagons. Very nice close hike to a creek. Camp site's 5 and 6 are secluded. They would be best for someone who is self contained, as they don’t have an outhouse nearby. Sites 7 8 9 have some seclusion. Site's 10 11 12 13 14 15 are perfect for families, where you can all be together but separate. We are a work in progress but we will try to accommodate anything you may need. Please talk to us! We have firewood $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite. Do not bring your own firewood. We don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds. More than 2 vehicles per site $10.00 per vehicle per night. A vehicle pulling a trailer counts as 1. A motor home pulling a car or trailer counts as 1. We look forward to hosting you!

The Virginia Dale Stage Station is about three miles away and the overland trail has several branches going through here. We are also a fifth generation cattle ranch. We are in Wyoming, on Highway 287 between Fort Collins, CO. and Laramie, Wyoming. We are still building out our property with a General store, and Western Themed Town coming soon. We have campsites for RV’s or Tents. We have an amazing 1000 acres to have your own hiking, wildlife, birdwatching, adventure. We have great hiking and wildlife viewing, marmots, pronghorn, antelope, deer, elk, and an occasional moose. Birds of every feather gather here so bring your binoculars. Hikes include balancing boulders and rock formations. Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull!Firewood, for $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite. The bags make a great trash bag when empty! Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds. Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. We have portable outhouses available.

We are located 4 miles from Routt National Forest. You'll arrive at the ranch headquarters and we will either take you to the sheep wagon or give you directions to it. The sheep wagon is nestled in an Aspen grove (on 56 acres) with a creek just 12 feet away. From there, you are 1/4 mile away from the national forest and the wilderness. There are thousands of acres to explore, either by hiking , biking or horseback riding. You are also just minutes away from great trout fishing lakes and streams. While here ask about ranch tours and visiting with our sheep, horses, cows and chickens! There will be cattle or sheep on the property with the sheep wagon. There is fishing, skiing, golfing, snowmobile riding along with plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.
The best and closest restaurant and bar is the Roadhouse Bar and Grill which is a 1/2 mile away, you can enjoy good food without going all the way into town. They have the best Country fried chicken and steak on Friday and crab legs on Saturday! If you are down to earth and just want to have a good time you'll love this place!!
Dishwasher in the kitchen and we do have to pack out the trash so please use the dishwasher and leave the paper plates at home, less trash is better!

So bring your toys and smiles! 4 miles north is the quaint and historic town of Grand Lake, which hosts multiple shops, restaurants, and a variety of year-round special events. Just 5 miles away is the west entrance of majestic Rocky Mountain National Park. Several miles to the west is Idleglen parking and trailhead for miles of horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, OHV, and snowmobile fun. Just 10 miles south is Granby, and less than 30 miles to Winter Park, "Colorado's favorite"

Phenomenal location 5 miles from town, with Beautiful views of Lake Granby, the mountains and 1 block off Lake Granby and Beacon Marina. There are boat rentals, bait & fishing items at the Marina. Brand new fire pit, covered porch with a beautiful view of the mountains, and a large private deck. You will love the large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, so leave the paper plates at home! A cozy living area with a wood stove & 3 large windows to view the mountains & lake.
Great outdoor space with a porch and deck on 3 sides of the property. 1/2 block to public access to the lake and snowmobile access for ice fishing in the winter. 1/2 block to Beacon Marina that has bait and fishing license and boat rentals. You can access the lake with your Kayaks here as well. Large out door fire pit for your enjoyment. You're welcome to set up tents with this booking, with prior approval and including total number of guests. Please message me!
There is fishing, skiing, golfing, snowmobile riding along with plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.
The best and closest restaurant and bar is the Roadhouse Bar and Grill which is a 1/2 mile away, you can enjoy good food without going all the way into town. They have the best Country fried chicken and steak on Friday and crab legs on Saturday! If you are down to earth and just want to have a good time you'll love this place!!
Dishwasher in the kitchen and we do have to pack out the trash so please use the dishwasher and leave the paper plates at home, less trash is better!

We had a lovely time in this A frame Cabin! Directions to the cabin are very clear, and I was welcomed upon our arrival. The short walk from parking is close to the amenities like the shower house and composting toilet, but far enough into the trees to feel private. The wood stove was an absolute win, as it made our winter camping feel luxurious and cozy. Our dog happily laid by our side while we played card games by the warmth of the fire. This was the best way to unplug without giving up comfort. Honestly cell reception at the cabin was a little too good considering that purpose. We only wish we had more time to spend at this site. We spent a lot of our stay in steamboat springs, so unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to use the outdoor firepit and cook set up.
Everything worked very well for the two of us, and there are lots of beds for a larger group. I anticipate the loft bedroom may be too firm for the average guest, and probably still quite cold in the winter. There is lots of cookware provided, but you may need more cutlery if in a larger group. The wood stove also might be tough for anyone with asthma or respiratory sensitivities, as we had to keep a window open to try to alleviate the smoke smells even after adjusting all of the vents on the stove.

We loved our stay at Rockaway! Lots of privacy and quiet. Our dog was able to enjoy all the space we had to play fetch. Brenda gave us our privacy but also reached out to check in on us when the weather turned for a bit. Lots of thoughtful details to make the stay very relaxing and enjoyable. We ended up staying at site 4 after the owner's recommendation and it was a nice big site with a firepit, a great view of the mountains, and lots of rocks/boulders for kids to explore. We did hear and could see the highway but we weren't right on top of it - need to go to sites 6 and on to avoid it. Had one issue with dogs barking at night that the owner replied to and is working on it. No picnic table but we always bring a portable one so there was no issue for us. The site fit a 16' camper as well as a camper van still with plenty of room for privacy for each camper. Would stay again.

What a perfect spot!! Stayed here with a friend while we were on a national parks road trip - the cabin was perfect for two people, with a comfortable bed and the kitchen necessities. The hot tub on the porch was a perfect way to end a long day of hiking. Would definitely stay here again!

Campsite was beautiful and peaceful. Plenty of space with a 27ft trailer and 14 and 15 were perfect with family renting the one of sites as well. I would absolutely recommend this place to those looking for a relaxing getaway. Owners were accommodating as well. Thank you for a great stay. Our 2 year also made new dog friends. Haha He lived the guardian dogs. Thank you again!

This was truly an unbeatable campground for a large group! Beautiful scenery, spacious and private, lots of room for kids to explore and roam. We will absolutely be back.
My only complaint is that the two dogs that live on the property (which were super friendly and the kids loved playing with) stole every piece of food from the picnic tables the moment we turned our backs, and more problematic was they came through at night and took every shoe and glove they could find around the tent sites and destroyed 5 or 6 pairs.
