The cottage is located on 4 acres, with orange flags marking the property lines. Our cabin is built near the camp site. The tiny cabin has a propane heater to make this a beautiful and cozy experience.
It is a quiet and peaceful place located 25 minutes from Cripple Creek (if you like gambling) , and 45 minutes from Woodland Park where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, rock and gem shops and more attractions typical to a tourist town.
A place to find peace, and nature with lots of wildlife, you may get a glimpse of a bear, mountain lion, fox, wild turkeys, deer, cayote. Enjoy the outdoor fireplace (weather permitting), watching a beautiful night sky, in a clear sky you can spot the Milky way and some star constellations.

If you like to shoot arrows bring your bow! Asha's retreat is located 5 minutes away from a BLM a beautiful place to enjoy a nice walk!
The terrain is rocky, we highly recommend keeping your eyes on your small kids as well as when they are in the lofts, for security reasons.
Reiki healing sessions are available upon request as well as Reiki training by a Certified Reiki Master.
Smoking is permitted outside when not under a fire ban.
Hipcampers under 21 years old are welcome only under adult supervision.
We recommend bringing your own towels and a flashlight since our lodging has an out side toilet. Please don't expect a flush toilet, we want to emphasize that we offer a porta potty.
We are charging a very small cleaning fee, expecting our guests to leave the place as they found it.

Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. Loved our stay at Starlite! The vintage theme was fun and our cabin was perfect for me and my teenager. The shower house/toilets were very clean, as was our cabin. We were lucky to get a clear night during our stay and the night sky was spectacular - the Milky Way was visible!
We were also close to all of the Royal Gorge attractions, so it was easy to get to all the activities we planned, like hiking and rafting.
Very friendly staff, no complaints except our TV kept turning on at random so we unplugged it. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at this cozy riverside cabin! The views are incredible, and it's a great spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature.
A couple of tips for future guests: if you're visiting when temperatures are above 90°F, be prepared for the cabin to get pretty warm. There is a fan, but bringing an additional fan will make a big difference. Since you're right on the river, bug spray and some fly tape are also good things to pack.
Those minor things didn't take away from our experience. We'd happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway.

The mercantile in Florissant is super convenient and the location is a great jumping off point for lots of nice hikes and visits to different towns. My family and I recently spent 2 nights at the Riverfront Mountain Ranch: it was a highlight of our trip to Colorado and we’d wished our stay was longer. Leslie gave us such a warm welcome it really set the tone for the experience. But it was the attention to detail we appreciated the most: the delicious made-to-order breakfast, the game tent packed with fun stuff, the spacious fire pit and ever-restocking s’mores-station… we just really appreciated the effort that Leslie puts into this place. Great vibes and met some really nice folk around the fire at night. Not to mention the incredible views of the mountains and short stroll down the swim in the Arkansas River, it made for such a relaxing stay. Buena Vista is a short drive away but we also dug visiting Salida which is about 30 mins away. Lastly we stayed in one of the spacious yurts which had cool furniture, panels to see the stars and was top notch when one of the nights was windy. We can’t wait to come back.

The sights and river was AMAZING and we had a really fun time in pioneer cabin #2 with the two beds and close to the river. There was some trash needed to be emptied out—but otherwise super cool time 😉

Loved staying in the lil cabin
Perfect size for my son and I
Even floated around on the water a bit
Just the right amount of "away" for the weekend.
Peaceful.
Great weather too, we came up the first weekend of July.
