East of the pond area has *firepit, picnic tables and chairs. Camping on either the east or west side of the pond in mowed grassy areas only. Vehicles are not permitted over the berm, which is access to the east side of pond. Walking access only. Please adhere to this requirement. A small wagon is available to transport camping items. Tents are allowed on either west or east side of pond. Trailers and campers are only allowed on the west side of the pond in the mowed grassy area. *For the 2025 season fire requirements and permits are followed. If a Fire Ban is in effect, there are no fires, charcoal grills, gas firepits, gas BBW, gas stoves, or smoking. At no time are fireworks or firearms allowed. Please consider other options when on the site. This Fire ban is strictly enforced. Any violators will be asked to leave with no refund. No Port-a-Potty on site. Campers, trailers or guest portable potty only. No vehicles over berm area (access to east side of pond). No exceptions. Pond available for fishing. No swimming, wading or watercraft of any kind on pond. Children and pets must be supervised at all times and water safety strictly adhered. There is a small country market in Larkspur for light meals and coffee, about 3 miles away.. There is one horse on site at this time. There may be cattle within one of the pastures, as well. Please do not enter the pastures. The entrance to Sandstone Open Space with hiking trails is approximately 1 mile north on the west side of Perry Park/Highway 105. The Renaissance Festival is approximately 3 miles from the property.

Located 2.5 miles from the famous Paint Mines Interpretive Park and Trails and 4 miles from the El Paso County Fairgrounds that hold many events all summer long. The town of Calhan is just 4 miles north of this property. There, you will find the local grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, and dollar store for any of your needs. Enjoy seclusion and beautiful views of the rolling hillside and wildlife all while being sheltered amongst our mature trees. All of our campsites are tucked in the trees to give you privacy and shelter from the Colorado breeze. Bring your bikes and ride to the paint mines or explore the property on our trails and stay close. We have the best tasting well water so feel free to fill up your water jugs at the hydrant closest to the chicken coops!! Come see our dream in the works and soak up some serenity! Dogs are welcome, however they must be dog friendly, trained and well behaved. They are free to roam but chasing calves and causing trouble with other animals will not be tolerated. We also have dogs, but will do our best to have them put up when you arrive with adequate communication about you ETA . No bathroom facilities at the moment. Also, no fires unless approved by us! Jamie is very gracious, knowledgeable and kind. This location is right next to the Paint Mines and a great place to say after your hike. The location is very quiet and great for star and moon gazing. This site also sits adjacent to a wind(mill) farm which is a great unique landscape. Very nice, safe place to stay!

Secluded! Cool view on the distant horizon that was about a five minute walk away, and at night looking East over the blinking lights of hundreds (thousands?) of windmills. Not many places you will see this! Dark sky was also good as the Milky Way was directly overhead. Antelope also were around.

This is one of the most beautiful camp sites we have been to this year. Tim is great to work with and we appreciate him for sharing this property with us. If you get a chance to book, I would highly suggest you do. Spending time fishing with my young grandaughter was the best part of our trip. and the fishing was excellent. I also loved being able to take my dogs without any worries. Just a beautiful property.

It was absolutely beautiful and extremely peaceful! Jamie went above and beyond in communication And making sure she was available to show us to the site! Jamie and her young son showed us the way, he did bike wheelies and double checked to make sure we we’re good while they showed us to our campsite. Couldnt ask for a better or sweeter welcome :) We slept wonderfully and it was extremely peaceful! 15/10!!!

this was one of the coolest places we have ever stayed! my husband never went to summer camp as a kid, so he was really giddy about it! the pond was awesome, our dogs loved it so much, they didn’t want to get out… they truly swam for hours. the property itself was beautiful and quiet, it was exactly what we were hoping for! thank you tim for allowing us to enjoy blue mountain ranch, we hope to be back!

We really enjoyed the privacy and the dogs really enjoyed their freedom! Maybe a little to much! Hahaha The lake was perfect and we loved we had it all to ourselves and bonus we didnt have cell service so we were really able to sit a relax and enjoy nature. We will be back!

We absolutely love this Hipcamp. We are grateful to have stayed at this Hipcamp a few times and you can see the owner’s pride in their land as they continue to improve the property. The land is gorgeous, it is easy to get to in your vehicle, and it is quiet. While we did not plan to use the tent on property, we did notice that it was locked with cables to the floor, so we assumed that was not for our use. We did take advantage of setting up our camp chairs on the lower open platform. Beautiful view!

We had an amazing stay here! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet — perfect for a relaxing weekend. Our kids loved climbing and playing on the rocks, and the tire swing was a big hit. The hosts left thoughtful touches like fire pit pokers, which made things easier. The space is huge — perfect for just our family of four (plus our dogs), but it could easily accommodate a much larger group. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping spot.
