Clear Lake Campground is a small, vintage RV and tent campground, established in the 1950s. Camp right on Cache Creek, the only outlet of Clear Lake. The campground offers fishing, kayaking, and boating right from Camp. A car or boat is required to get to Clear Lake. For lake fishing, Redbud Park, Highlands Park and Austin Park are all within a ten minute drive from Camp. Austin Park also has a playground and swimming beach. The park offers rustic charm with great fishing and bird watching right from your campsite. We have a boat launch for your kayak, canoe or motor boat and we have canoe and kayak rentals. Cool off in the small pool. Challenge your family to a ping pong tournament or corn toss game. Surrounded by a 140-acre privately owned nature preserve on two sides, you'll relish in abundant wildlife sightings and the serenity of nature, away from the crowds. We are a 5 min drive to restaurants, gas station (diesel #2 available) and shopping. Perfect stop for bike packers headed towards Pilot Hill. Things to do in the area: Bike the American river bike trail which is 32 mi long, explore Folsom Lake by stand-up paddle board or swimming from the many entry points within minutes of the property. It’s eclectic! Built in the 50s, this place has that retro charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. My 20-year-old son, my soul-dog, and I spent Labor Day weekend here, and that little dipping pool was a total lifesaver in the brutal heat. We brought our trusty popup camper from the 90s (no AC—she’s a vintage gal), so we went full MacGyver with a shade cover, a napping pad, and two “box” fans. Worked like a charm for a solid nap. When we weren’t pretending to be human popsicles, we played ping pong, cornhole, and enjoyed the slower pace. Walmart, gas, and food right across the street made it super convenient. The highway is close, but it didn’t bother us at all—kind of like grown-up white noise. I’m also terrified of the dark, but here it felt just right: dark enough for an insane star show, but not so dark I thought Bigfoot was lurking. Fishing was the main reason I booked this place, and it delivered. Each site shares a ramp with one other, small but perfect for casting a line or tying up a paddle board. It’s made for relaxing. I did spot a few teenagers looking bored, but I think they were just in the “too cool for fun” stage. Lisa was wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and full of history about the place. We had no issues at all, and I’ll definitely be back!

We loved our 3 night stay at Clear Lake Campground! Lisa was the best and our space by the creek was so picturesque. Peaceful with great birdwatching, a fun little pool, catfish & bass fishing and a games area where we played ping-pong & volleyball. The restrooms were clean and the RV hookups easy. We’ll be back : )

We have enjoyed our stay at this campground along Cache Creek. The sites are well shaded, level and spacious. Full hookups, clean restrooms, refreshing pool (around 3-4 ft deep), playground, pier, and nice common areas make it a great place to relax and enjoy. It is in a convenient location but remains more private. Sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Wood is available for purchase. Definitely recommend.

Lisa is a wonderful campsite host. The location right on Cache Creek is really quite special as is the small docks for water access from your own campsite. The site is good, though it's a little tight in terms of space between sites. Also, be aware that the southernmost sites can be a bit noisy with the roadway nearby.

Very nice site. Sadly the creek was dry but it was to be expected. Bathroom were super clean. Very nice to have filtered water available on site . Brand new fire pit with propane ( we left a grill so other can cook over it :) ). It’s a very quiet space , can’t hear anything but nature and it’s a huge site !! Owners are very welcoming , nice to be able to meet them and chat a bit . Very friendly couple . Thank for you for having us

Really nice open area that can easily accommodate multiple families. fun grassy area for activities. the bar lights are a really nice feature. the creek was fun for the kids to splash around in and catch frogs. fire pit by the creek and picnic table was great. easy to get to - access is not a problem. nearby great little towns Calistoga and Middletown. Only 15 min from Clear Lake.

Arrived late after dark, Scott helped get me to the best site for my truck. Camped out under the dark sky watching the stars. Awoke the next morning to beautiful bird songs, spring flowers and a gorgeous sunrise. The site is nice place to use as a base to explore waterfall hiking in the area.

1 night at Hwy 160 River Road Scenic Byway

I was in town for a day and a bit, and I was able to park my truck by the river after making dinner, and warm up by my little propane fire. The whole grounds were clean and presentable! Bathroom was spotless, and the caretaker Craig (it could totally be Greg, but I’m horrible with names) was out and about when I arrived-great handshake and happy to help if you need anything! Proximity to the road didn’t end up coming into play as the road is pretty low traffic. It was more a periodic woosh almost like beach sounds, rather than engine noise, I really slept quite well! Julie is easy to reach and an amicable host. Will be back if I’m in that neck of the woods in the future for sure.

A great spot if you’re looking for privacy, and they lock the gate after dark so no other vehicles can come onto the property. So no being boxed in, no noisy other campers. If you have a pup with you, you will need to drive somewhere to walk them as it’s right on the highway and there’s not much walking on the property if you like long walks. Ground is level and firm- so no need to worry about balancing your van/rv/trailer. The view of the Sacramento River is beautiful, and you can park right by the water. Owner of property is friendly and communicative.
