Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. We specialize in "Horse Experiences" tailored to your level of comfort and needs. None of the horse experiences listed on our site require any prior experience with horses. We will make sure you are safe and comfortable while working with the horses. *NOTE: Experiences are not available on Sundays (our sabbath day). Wow what an absolutely beautiful property. Rachel and Jon are very kind and helpful. We enjoyed a few hours of hiking around the property. Loved seeing so much wild life and the sweet cows that graze around the property. I can see why summer would be a more enjoyable time to visit. We stayed in cabin # 2 and although a very beautiful spot and cabin, For the $480 for 2 nights price I was surprised there wasn’t sheets/blankets or a propane stove or bbq or some way to cook food. so make sure you bring anything necessary to cook food and linens and blankets for the bed. There is a fire pit outside but no grill or way to cook food. It does have a wood stove inside as a heat source so make sure you also bring firewood especially in the colder months.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

2 nights at Love Creek Sanctuary!

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

Weekend Trip to The Foxes Family Farm

What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We had a wonderful stay at Sugarloaf and would return. On the positive, the campsite and surrounding area were stunning, with plenty of space for our group and easy access to great hiking trails (both kid friendly and more strenuous). The staff was friendly and easily accessible. We came with two other families, each with two kids under six, and the little ones loved biking around, exploring, and playing hide-and-seek. Other campers were friendly and the vibe was laid back and easy. A couple of things to watch out for: two of the three glamp tents could have been drier (site 29 & 30). The floor stayed a bit damp and there was a noticeable mildew smell; and the showers are coin operated, but worth it as they had good pressure, hot water, and consistently clean bathrooms. You can get coins from the visitor center so this wasn't a dealbreaker for us. We’d definitely come back, maybe with a few extra socks, soled house slippers, and something like coffee grounds to deal with the mildew tent smell.

We loved our stay at Kat’s little house. It’s such a cozy and relaxing getaway for our family. Kat is a great host — very responsive and easy to communicate with. The home is well-equipped with everything we needed, including comfy beds, cookware, dishes and a BBQ grill. The apple turnovers are yummy!

Weekend Trip to Ascension Ranch

I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

Weekend Trip to Hirst Horse Ranch

What an incredible camping experience for our Girl Scout troop! The hosts help create memories with our girls, feeding animals, getting to know the farm cats and dogs, "racing" horses, jumping on the trampoline and swinging on the swings, with on tents set up on soft grass and the hosts incredibly responsive to our communications via the app (quick to respond and act).

We had a great one night stay at RockNWater Cove Camping! We stayed in Curley w/ an RV but definitely want to return to camp at one of the tent spots. The hosts, Kris and her husband, were super nice and answered lots of questions we had. The river access is really pretty w/ a nice beach area. Plusses are flush toilets, showers, propane fire pits with propane provided, potable water and electric hook ups. Looking forward to going back next summer!

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

I loved our glamping spot. The free complimentary firewood on the first night and free complimentary extra mattresses were nice for my family and I. the mountain views 360 all around were so pretty! It was also very shaded. We saw many deer, quail, and squirrel by our tent was a treat for my children. The restrooms were not horrible. There is also an observatory nearby so we got to view the stars at night. It was a pleasant trip. The glamp itself was nice and furnished, perfect for my family who usually have a very hard time camping in nature.
