Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.
We are committed to intentional and responsible land stewardship, using natural farming techniques with a focus on habitat restoration. We partner with various conservation groups to create habitat for wildlife and establish a thriving ecosystem amongst the fruit trees.
Visiting our farm is a chance to experience a working, permaculture-based farm and to learn the ways in which small-scale, local agriculture can restore people and place.

It’s a really neat place! Very quiet and tranquil. It’s super close to downtown Vista, yet a world away once past the gate. As our daughter is here, we’d love to return at some point in the future!
We were on the upper pad and had no problem turning our rig, a Rockwood Geo Pro 20/Tesla X around. Site was level.
The area down by the pond would be absolutely perfect for an evening of role playing games followed by tent camping - if allowed. The native rock dam at the head of the reservoir is a set fit for a hobbit!

We loved our stay at Lake Henshaw Hideaway. It was private and peaceful, with all the comforts of the RV making it easy to relax outdoors. Tom and his wife went above and beyond to make the place even more comfortable. The amazing view was a highlight, and the fenced area for our dogs was a big plus. The stargazing was incredible, and we also enjoyed the cool mornings and doing yoga on the turf. Being so close to Palomar Mountain made it easy to do some great hikes. We’d definitely come back again.

Lacey greeted us on our arrival and gave us a tour around the grounds. The Turtle Pond was beautiful and I enjoyed watching the birds and turtles do their thing. We even had a glimpse at the coyotes walking by. Our site was huge for our 24ft RV, lots of room to move around. Water, electricity and trash cans were near by. Lovely place to stay!

Great campground up Nate Harrison Grade in Palomar Mountain. Arrived and chose any open campsite. Large campsites, bathrooms, showers, fire pits, and seating are included. Fit the two Sprinter and Transit high-roof camper vans we brought. Very nice hosts. Great views!

I loved staying at Bernie & Hoa's property for a quick weekend trip. Before the stay, they were great communicators and made it easy to find and navigate the property.
When we arrived, Bernie took us around the property on his golf cart. It really is a beautiful property.
One of the best parts was being able to watch the stars at night while listening to nature's sounds.
I would definitely stay here again.

We loved spending the night under the stars here. What a beautiful property and our host Jacob was so hospitable. An excellent weekend getaway from the concrete jungle of LA. Our only wish was that we had come earlier, so we could have spent hours reading in the shade of the avocado trees.

We had an amazing stay at Owl Creek campsite! This was our first time booking a campsite with hookups, because we thought it would be hot and it would be nice to run our AC in our campervan, but the weather was perfect and we didn't even need to.
The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It made for a fantastic 1-night getaway, and we would definitely come back again!

I stayed in a tent site tucked into the palms with birdsong and gorgeous sunsets. Bernie and Hoa were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. They brought over fresh produce (best tomatoes and oranges I’ve had) gave me a tour of the property in their golf cart, and even showed me the details of their absolutely STUNNING gardens! Genuine kindness like that is what makes a stay special.
The campground is level and quiet so I was able to get a lot of remote work done, yet close enough to the laundry and bathrooms to take care of a few loads while there too. The koi pond is a gem and I got to watch Bernie feed them. The plants, flowers, cacti, and carefully maintained spaces make the property feel peaceful and alive. Even during the summer heat in the 90s, my campsite had plenty of shade, which made it a comfortable place to relax, work, and get editing done.
Bernie has a ton of knowledge about nearby Ramona and where to eat, but they do have a farm stand with eggs and produce to make farm fresh meals at the campground too.
Feed the chickens your scraps and participate in composting - the hosts and their critters are your friends!

Check in was very easy and Alina communicated all the details well. The site is stunning! Open spaces and mountains, pretty local plants, flowers and a lot to do right on the property. It’s also close to the city, so if we needed anything we just popped down to the grocery store or Target. The bathrooms are spotless, and the bedding in the tents is so comfortable. A lot of thoughtful details went into the garden area and glamping sites.

I've always loved camping, but as a 60+ year old woman, the days of roughing it in the wilderness are behind me. I still love being close to nature, lightning campfires, listening to owls hooting at night, letting my dogs roam freely in the wide open, while still being able to sleep in a comfortable bed. Tom and Stacy provided us with exactly what we were looking for. Their spacious RV has a wonderful master bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. There's a shower, flushable toilet, a kitchen with a microwave and gas stove, hot water, air conditioning, an outdoor fire pit, a gas grill, and the place is stocked with cooking, dining, and cleaning supplies. There's even a TV and Wi-Fi, although we opted to play board games under the solar-powered lights outside instead. Tom and Stacy were very accommodating and responsive. I'll definitely be coming back.
