The driveway spot is down the driveway a couple hundred yards from where we usually are so you’ll more or less be on your own, depending on if we have work to do down there or if there are other campers. We are happy to chat or leave you be, just let us know what your needs are. If you’re looking for a more isolated spot, see the listings for 1 Pine or 2 Pine. The 2nd area is “1 Pine” accessed by our second driveway that is 100 yards down the road from the farm. The driveway is kind of rough but definitely manageable with a truck, SUV or sedan if you’re willing to go for it. The drive goes up a couple hundred yards to the hilltop where there is a clearing and, you guessed it, 1 pine tree. From the back of the clearing there is a trail that leads you to 2 Pine, which is a walk that takes just a few minutes. 2 Pine is walk-in only but has great views of the sunset and is totally secluded and private and would be a good spot to either bring some friends for a little sunset party or for someone who wants to seriously unplug. IMPORTANT NOTES:  1) To get the most out of your experience, we highly recommend a 4WD or vehicle, ATVs or eBikes. 2) The creek is at the bottom of the canyon, 1.5 miles from the gate at the entrance, and the road down is very steep and lined with blackberry bushes. We highly recommend an off-road vehicle/ATV or eBikes for easy access to creek. 3) Be aware you are in the middle of the forest and wildlife such as bear, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, and tics have been spotted on the property. Poison Oak is also common.   4) The property has cell service in the upper quadrant, however once you drop below the tree line toward the creek there is no service. 5) We highly recommend bringing a chainsaw or hatchet. There is an abundance of dead wood on the property that can be gathered for camp fires. Trees also occasionally fall on the trail which can impede access to the creek.

Weekend Trip to Angels Hideaway

We had a great time at the Angel's Hideaway yurt. Commiunication with Audrey and Michael was A plus to get all the info we needed prior to our stay. It was easy to get to and as described. The property is lovely and felt very secluded. The yurt itself is rustic but that's what we expected and we were prepared. That said there were plenty of amenities beyond just a roof over one's head. Gotta love a yurt! Much more fun/easy in cold and misty weather than tent camping. The wood stove is amazing, the beds were comfy. Would def return in the future!

We had such a wonderful time at this campsite and truly enjoyed the peaceful serenity among the trees. I’ve lived in the Sierra Nevada area my whole life, and as a fairly healthy 26-year-old, I can say the trail is no joke. Definitely read the reviews and plan ahead—bring something to help you get down and back up. I ended up finding two walking sticks and just took my time. The views were absolutely worth it, and my three dogs had the best time splashing around in the creek! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet getaway

Ryan was a great host and very gracious. We purchased firewood from him and he brought us kindling twice when we were having trouble, teaching us about making fires along the way. We have an RV, but there is an outhouse with toilet and hot shower, and a sink to do dishes on the other side. Great view of the stars with minimal light pollution. Would recommend.

Alan's land is peaceful and a sight to behold. The camp layout gives you plenty of privacy, yet you're just a short walk from flush toilets, a food-prep area, a fire ring, a big table, and even a sink — everything you need close by without feeling crowded. Alan himself has a sweet, laid-back nature, and we really enjoyed chatting with him about his animals. There are so many sweet creatures to wake up with in the morning (and we really fell in love with the brown and white ranch dog who is a cuddle bug). The whole place has a calm, welcoming energy. We absolutely can’t wait to come back. And for birders — this was a paradise. We spotted at least 20 different species right from the property. Highly recommend!

Wow what an absolutely beautiful property. Rachel and Jon are very kind and helpful. We enjoyed a few hours of hiking around the property. Loved seeing so much wild life and the sweet cows that graze around the property. I can see why summer would be a more enjoyable time to visit. We stayed in cabin # 2 and although a very beautiful spot and cabin, For the $480 for 2 nights price I was surprised there wasn’t sheets/blankets or a propane stove or bbq or some way to cook food. so make sure you bring anything necessary to cook food and linens and blankets for the bed. There is a fire pit outside but no grill or way to cook food. It does have a wood stove inside as a heat source so make sure you also bring firewood especially in the colder months.

This place is special. If you’re looking to get up close with herds of cattle, alpaca, horses, mules, farm dogs, geese and a massive pig this is the spot. Be prepared for lots of night noises- the animals talked all night long. We had great weather and the place to ourselves which was a treat but this farm would be great for groups. Our dog was off leash running with the farm dogs most of the time- and you could smell it on her. Alan’s dogs were very gentle, but they have free range. There was also a comically large pig wandering about. If Alan asks if you want to feed the herd, say yes! We witnessed a minutes-old calf getting up on her feet, while we slinging hay. It was a very cool experience. We would definitely come back for a visit.

What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.
