Weekend Trip to CAMP CAZ

What a wonderful cabin in a beautiful and peaceful setting! We made use of all the spaces and amenities this cabin had to offer and could not be happier with our weekend away. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our meals, the fireplace added a beautiful ambiance, and we dined al fresco for every meal with the sounds of birds and the river in the distance. We spent a spectacular afternoon lounging in the sun and swimming in the river which felt very private and secluded. It was our own little slice heaven. We filled the outdoor clawfoot tub with hot water and bubbles and had a very romantic moment looking out onto the forest through the hanging ivy. Our whole stay was fantastic and Carrie's communication was excellent the entire time. We will absolutely be coming back.

This is a fully modern cabin updated and beautiful. Everything was well thought out and communicated either with notes on the property or in text/email. The property is luscious with gardens among oak trees and bird feeders which attracted many birds to the site.

Awesome place and beautiful setting, which was made perfect by our host Lynda! From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure Lynda was always available and very helpful for any questions and assistance. The detail and fun that went in to this site is truly unique, fun, and peaceful. Lots of areas to relax alone or gather together. The creekside setting was gorgeous. The cabin was fully stocked and well set for anything you might need. We plan on coming back!

Weekend Trip to Kimball Farm

Our kids had a blast at Kimball Farm! Our family of four (two adults, two kids) stayed at their new cabin. The cabin is beautifully crafted and is conditioned with ceilings fans and a heater/AC. This made our stay very comfortable and not limited by the weather. We are looking forward to visiting at other seasons of the year too. Our kids long the chickens, baby ducks, pond, toads, and lizards on the property. They also loved the outdoor shower. The hot water and plumbed toilets were a treat we don’t usually encounter while camping. The site is surrounded by California’s beautiful rolling hills. Spectacular views of the sunset. Town is 15 minutes away in case you forget something. You can find Yolo and Capay Valley wineries within a short drive. Host George and Susan are kind and attentive. Their dogs Sarah is a gentle dog. Our girls loved playing catch with her. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed the quiet and nature hard to find traveling for work. It’s perfect for 1 person, hotel or cabin? I look forward to next time take a longer walk. Took a walk around the property at sunset, beautiful view, relaxing at the end of the day and then a bath! The best after driving 8hours. The birds, coyote and nature whats not to love.

This our second visit and enjoyed our stay as even more, the wind velocity early in the morning reminded us to break down the tent earlier than usual. Sara the dog was our tent guard/sentry. Looking forward to many more stays, George is cool and helpful as usual, this little farm is now our quick quiet getaway from home and the suburbs.

3 nights at Cobb Mtn Retreat Cabin w/ Hot Tub

Wow - what a wonderful spot! We were greeted with a very clean, open and refreshing house. It is impressive how mindfully designed and well-appointed it is, with pleasant textures, textiles, colors and artful touches throughout, as well as numerous large windows to let the outside in. The comfortable seating areas are perfectly placed to enjoy the beautiful, woodsy setting both indoors and out. The hot tub area is great too - perfectly designed for privacy & relaxation. The house was well-stocked with items that are often not provided at house rentals, such as Kleenex, a variety of cooking spices, every kitchen tool I needed (and we cooked every meal at the house during our 3-night stay), Tupperware perfect for picnics, coffee supplies, etc. Well done! It's one of those places you want to tell everyone about, but you also don't because you want it to be available for your next getaway!

Weekend Trip to CAMP CAZ

What a special spot - both inside and out we loved Camp Caz. Lounging by the river and exploring the banks with kids was super fun. We did s’mores outside, hung out in hammocks on the deck, grilled and after Al fresco. Inside was cozy and big bonus to have a full kitchen and bath in a remote setting. Highly recommend, perfect for a family of four.

2 nights at Whaleback Ridge Cabins & Camp

Dan went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Area was peaceful and the cabin was comfortable. He did recently add a privacy screen between the campsite and the house. Availability of on-site water and electricity makes this easier than a state or forest service campgrounds.

What a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area! Our two kids (3 and 5), husband, pup and I had a wonderful time exploring the property and creek. Hammock time was very popular, too! It was clear from all the small touches around the cabin and property that the owners really care about and invest in the place. We will be back!

I loved staying at the cabin. It’s so close to town, yet feels like you are far away in the countryside, with chickens and birds and trees all around, and the water is just a short walk away. Waking up to the sound of birdsongs and rustling leaves, without any noise from cars, people or airplanes, felt like a dream come true. It was also such a pleasure to meet the lovely hosts—and of course, sweet and friendly dog Willie! ❤️❤️❤️

Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Please note that as of spring 2021 we no longer have as many animals. Because of the drought feed prices are too high.

Welcome to Calistoga! We invite you to stay on our family's land, 10 minutes outside of town. The Camp is named after the ridge in sight on the far north end of the property - the Whaleback. You can hike the fire trails to get there, or chill at your camp, relax... There are 3 options: Shaded Oak ($49) quiet, private, for vans, small trailer or tent; has propane fire pit Married Manzanitas ($49) is a very large, privately wooded site that is walk-in or requires 4wd/ground clearance (drive in at your own risk, or park and walk in), tent only, or also offers an optional Cabin for +$30 per night ($79) Coral Cabin on the hilltop ($109/night, + $30 cleaning fee) is closest to the civilized amenities, electricity, wifi etc and has a TV with roku. Your toilet and shower are still outside, but this is the closest to a hotel experience with clean sheets ready on your arrival. Cabin has AC for hot summer days, and a private deck with dinner bar around back. All sites have access to the hilltop Recharge Station, recently cleaned up! Recharge Station has an outdoor shower, two bathtubs, tables and chairs, and a large stainless steel countertop with sink. If multiple sites are occupied, Coral Cabin has priority for use of facilities before 9am and after 5pm. Shaded Oak and Married Manzanitas guests can use the facilities between 9am-5pm, being mindful of each other's privacy and/or coordinating shower times. Each site has its own compost toilet, and Married Manzanitas has its own ambient-temperature shower. As much as possible, guests should use the toilet in their own sites. Please remember Kids are considered guests here so please include them when you reserve the number of people in your party. KID POLICY: **Must keep an eye on your children at all times. You are responsible for them! **Children must be comfortable and respectful around animals. We have a lot here, they are amazing and kid friendly. **Kids fill this space with their amazing energy so please make sure you account for them in your reservation. If your kids are walking they are considered little people and are charged at regular price. All campers get all access to our hand built cob kitchen which and access to our epic dining hall deck. It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite. But remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here. There is limited water due to the drought. Here we make every drop count so please come with water conservation in mind. Also for big groups, we love celebrating but please please avoid bringing balloons, styrofoam, plastic banners, plastic cups, streamers or anything else that can blow away in the wind. We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it. It’s always a journey finding the magical places so just a sweet heads up our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time. Be sure to drive at a steady pace (lowest gear is good) on the way up and don’t stop till you see the Welcome sign! You will be greeted by one of our wonderful residents.... Or myself! ARRIVAL: We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 8pm. If possible a general ETA helps as well. DOGS: We have an amazing dog with a wonderful disposition that roams freely here. You will be most definitely greeted at the entrance by Arco wearing a beautiful tuxedo. Arco will check in with you throughout your stay. *Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Our animals roam freely. * WATER: Please bring your own Drinking Water. We do have potable water here as well. We are right on classic West County cycling routes like King Ridge, Willow Creek and Old Caz, and our Bike Barn offers everything you need for a cycling getaway: storage for your bikes, a bike workshop, bike wash station, a nutrition and hydration station, washing machine (no dryer) for your kit, deck for post-ride beverages, beer fridge and outdoor shower. Cyclists and non-cyclists alike will appreciate the full sun this south-facing property receives. Soak in the hot tub, relax under the redwood trees, or head down to Austin Creek or the Russian River. Goat Rock Beach is just 15 minutes away. The Cazita sleeps up to 3 guests in a king bed and sofa sleeper and has a bathroom with flush toilet and shower. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your meals. The Redwood Nest is a standalone room featuring a queen bed and bay window looking out onto a redwood stand. There is a composting toilet in the attached outhouse and an outdoor sink. Guests have use of the outdoor shower on the Bike Barn deck. There are no cooking facilities, but groups booking both the Cazita and Redwood Nest share use of the Cazita's kitchen.
