What a special spot - both inside and out we loved Camp Caz. Lounging by the river and exploring the banks with kids was super fun. We did s’mores outside, hung out in hammocks on the deck, grilled and after Al fresco. Inside was cozy and big bonus to have a full kitchen and bath in a remote setting. Highly recommend, perfect for a family of four.

What a gorgeous and special place! The rooms are beautifully designed with endless interesting anrt and books to check out. The hot tub with a view is the perfect way to unwind, and I was lucky enough to hear great horned owls at night. Coffee and breakfast in the morning were an unexpected and lovely treat. Weekend Trip to The Egrets Nest

We had an amazing time! The place is peaceful with stunning views all around. The Antic Room is absolutely gorgeous, and the bathroom feels like its own little art gallery—such a unique and beautiful space where you can also just hang out and relax. The hot tub is perfectly placed to soak in the surrounding nature, and at night, you can enjoy the stars from there—truly magical. Bill was super helpful and kind, and waking up to delicious coffee, fresh fruits, and cake was such a lovely touch. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Egret's Nest is a peaceful, beautiful cabin. Laurel, the host was gracious and kind, and always responded to my messages. I appreciated this lovely, comfortable place to stay. I was at Spirit Rock for a meditation program and I recommend Egret's Nest for a single person or couple looking for an place to stay that's near Sp. Rock and affordable.

This location is incredible and so well equipped! We stayed for 2 nights and it had everything we needed for a great time: bbq, fire pit, trail to the river, outdoor bathtub (with hot water!), a 5 min drive to the general store, and privacy from the outside world. I cannot recommend Carrie’s place enough 👍

Beautiful property, cozy and comfortable cabin, perfect hot tub situation. We ended up being there during an "atmospheric river" event and would have loved to have been able to enjoy the outdoors a bit more! We were glad to be in a hot tub during the rain but would have loved to hang out on the deck on a sunnier day. Also really appreciated the coffee and cake in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Swallowtail Historic Art Studio

Every morning we were Brought our choice of coffee or tea, mandarins, And applesauce bread! The cabin is very cold, but the Heated blankets were enough to keep us comfortable at night while sleeping. The wooden bathroom with a cozy seating nook is perfect for staying warm until hot tub time and it was so nice to start the cold brisk misty days in a hot pool of water with a view of the rolling hills. There is Wi-Fi thankfully, obviously you don’t have access to a kitchen so bring pre-prepped goodies or eat in nearby Petaluma. Acme burger is delicious! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Weekend Trip to Private Cabin (w/ hot tub & sauna)

Amazing place! The cabin was so well-maintained, and organized and well-stocked. The land was amazing with great creek walks for the kids. My 5 year old woke up in the middle of the night to tell me she didn't want to leave. Best Hipcamp experience we have had!

We were a group of 6 girls and had an incredible time in this cozy cabin nestled in the redwoods! The host has thought of everything - it was fully equipped with kitchen stuff and toiletries, and had super comfortable beds. We loved using the hot tub and sauna. Lastly, the location is perfect - you're walking distance to Rio Nido and a short drive to Guerneville and Armstrong Redwoods. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Whaleback Ridge Cabins & Camp

Beautiful property with an excellent hike down to the water in a great location. We were there in January 2025 and it was very cozy -- the cabin stays plenty warm. The cabin faces north and has a steep hill behind it, so no directly sunlight while we were there. No worries for us though, as we just wanted the peace and tranquility.

Despite the expected off-season rain, I had a nice time here although I did camp further up the hill to be close to facilities and lovely views. Dan was very helpful and answered my many questions promptly and the area is very beautiful. Close to Calistoga for mud baths and great breakfasts too...

My spouse and I came here for our anniversary weekend. What a beautiful spot! Tiny cozy cabin, scrupulously clean, with beautiful panoramic forest views. We loved the creek, and spending every evening curled up by the fire, listening to records. We can’t wait to come back the next chance we get!

Weekend Trip to Whaleback Ridge Cabins & Camp

What a charming, unique place! It’s kinda like camping with a lot of amenities. Sleeping in the beautiful cottage (totally warm enough with electric blanket) and then able to go into the centrally heated bathroom area easily. We really enjoyed the art and our host, Bill, was very pleasant and welcoming. He even asked us what time we would like coffee and brought it in the morning. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Bill!

Carrie was a dream host, great communication. My family absolutely loved this cabin. We enjoyed the kitchen that had everything we needed, all the fun games and puzzles , the outdoor bathtub , the creek. So much! It was a great reset, felt like we were free of the hustle and bustle of life.

Great place to stop for the night while visiting wine country! We were full self-contained in our campervan so didn’t use any of the provided supplies, but the spot was just what we needed! Jen

We absolutely loved this little cabin in the trees. It is impeccably maintained and has kept its original charm with some nice updates. Warm and cozy despite the rain outside, with the beautiful sounds of the creek bubbling nearby. The claw foot tub is truly a dream. Plenty of room to relax and lots of fun games to play by the fire. 2 nights at Wackalulu's Wonderland

Loved my stay here! The hot tub and the bed were definitely highlights. They had the tub heated to 104 and the electric blankets in the bed on a low setting to preheat the bed for us upon arrival. This site is at the very back of the property and has enough in the way of plants/fencing/tall trees that it feels entirely separate from their home. It does get cold at night but I loved that because it made the bed and hot tub that much more inviting and cozy. Definitely wish I had planned a longer stay, but maybe next time!

The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. Welcome to Calistoga! We invite you to stay on our family's land, settled in the early 1900's. We've turned Dan and Mariah's wedding trails into campgrounds, recently added large privacy shades to the hilltop, and we're always making improvements! There are 3 options: Shaded Oak ($49) quiet, private, for vans, small trailer or tent; has propane fire pit Married Manzanitas ($49) is a very large, privately wooded site that is walk-in or requires 4wd/ground clearance (drive in at your own risk, or park and walk in), tent only, or also offers an optional Cabin for +$30 per night ($79) Coral Cabin on the hilltop ($109/night, + $30 cleaning fee) is closest to the civilized amenities, electricity, wifi etc and has a TV with roku. Your toilet and shower are still outside, but this is the closest to a hotel experience with clean sheets ready on your arrival. Cabin has AC for hot summer days, and a private deck with dinner bar around back. All sites have access to the hilltop Recharge Station, recently cleaned up! Recharge Station has an outdoor shower, two bathtubs, tables and chairs, and a large stainless steel countertop with sink. If multiple sites are occupied, Coral Cabin has priority for use of facilities before 9am and after 5pm. Shaded Oak and Married Manzanitas guests can use the facilities between 9am-5pm, being mindful of each other's privacy and/or coordinating shower times. Each site has its own compost toilet, and Married Manzanitas has its own ambient-temperature shower. As much as possible, guests should use the toilet in their own sites. When Coral Cabin is vacant, there is more flexibility in using the amenities at the Recharge Station, which include: -sink with well water (filtered and drinkable but not your city water). -Mini-fridge with freezer -Microwave, coffee maker, toaster -Camp stove to use outside; propane grill is currently out of commission (will update when it is fixed) -Games, puzzles, books, sports equipment, a kids telescope -kayak equipment to rent, tennis rackets/balls for courts in town Dan is your camp host. Our property is .3 acres. It is on a semi rural street, private property in the midst of nature. The little cabin sits above a creek which flows and roars like a river in the winter. In the spring enjoy the beauty of the wild flowers and blossoming trees. The deer come in and out- it is difficult to maintain a vegetable garden! We are ten minutes from the Samuel P Taylor camp ground and 30 to 40 minutes from the coastal trails in the Point Reyes National sea shore. Nearby, hiking trails abound, There are trail maps in the cabin. Tomales bay is 30 minutes down the road. Our property is home to a small grove of redwoods, one very large redwood, many fir trees and old ivy covered trees that line the creek. The fences on either side of the property crawl with wild grape vines and a large cherry tree stands next to the cabin. The bathroom is in the main house. This is a good home base for hiking, biking, resting and showering.
