Cute little cabin nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe to get to but also away from the Tahoe chaos.
Host lives on property , but will most likely be out and about most of the day. There are two neighbors but both own 20 acres so you can not see them, feels very private.
The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land.
However it is nice to be so close to highway 20 because it leads to several different destinations. ( west : Nevada city. east: towards Tahoe, and both directions there are soo many lakes/ rivers )
Tiny house: •Full sized futon downstairs and king sized mattress in loft. Electric fireplace, all the game boards , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!!
•Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed.
•Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee (French press, drip, mocha pot). Black stone grill outside. Fire pit , check if fires are allowed during booking
•Separate bathroom with compost toilet or a short walk to outhouse. Outdoor shower in the making, message if available.
FUN: •Lake Spaulding is about 1/4 mile hike down from the property. There is a boat launch and plenty of room to park it on the property if you want to bring a boat. Also have two paddle boards you are welcome to use.

The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

Camp Watanda is a retired girls summer camp. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 sleeping cabins close to the waterfront lots of space for pitching tents/dispersed camping. The sleeping cabins all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly. Our waterfront has a large fire ring (only available before May 1 and after Nov 1), 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. To get to the sandy beach and creek spot, called Barkhouse Beach, take an easy stroll through the forest. The nearby Barkhouse, close to the creek, is a reconstruction of a typical Maidu Indian dwelling. Walk inside to experience the traditional history of this land.

A hot spot in the Gold Rush, our property once was a 1850 homestead, a 1970 back to the land artist's dream. A stone mason built the main cabin, renovated by my stair builder/musician father and artist/chef mother and I built the straw bale cabin. It's an wildlife highway with coyotes, foxes, red tailed hawks, bears, mountain lion, deer, jackrabbits, and lots of birds. I love to share it with HipCampers!

The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

A small but cozy and well-appointed cabin/cottage in a forest of pine trees and cedars within 10 minutes of the Yuba River. The property is two acres of forest in between town and the Yuba River. The cabin has a kitchenette and it's own private bathroom. In addition to the indoor shower, there is also a semi-private outdoor shower. There are also places to relax and enjoy the forest. Camp Watanda is a retired girls summer camp. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 sleeping cabins close to the waterfront lots of space for pitching tents/dispersed camping. The sleeping cabins all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly. Our waterfront has a large fire ring (only available before May 1 and after Nov 1), 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. Lots of fish in the lake, since this is a private lake, no license is required. There is also a bathhouse (very primitive and in serious need of remodel) with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 sinks. There is no cell reception but wifi available on most of the property.

Camp Watanda is private property, campers assume all liability for being on site. There is no lifeguard present. This is a natural habitat for woodland animals, poison oak, etc. - there is an associated risk for camping in their home.

To get to the sandy beach and creek spot, called Barkhouse Beach, take an easy stroll through the forest. The nearby Barkhouse, close to the creek, is a reconstruction of a typical Maidu Indian dwelling. Walk inside to experience the traditional history of this land.

This 30 ft diameter Pacific yurt sits on 5 private acres with an occupied family home and granny unit nearby. Strategic design and landscape provide privacy for all. Large pine, cedars and oaks surround the living areas and we have done clearing for fire safety without compromising the environment. There is an airconditioned bedroom inside, a sleeping loft with queen bed, a bath house with shower, connected by a deck in back and a small front covered patio. Quaint lil cabin off less traveled side roads in the Sierra Nevada foothills. It's got all the amenities you need and is close enough to Tahoe for day trips!

Second time we have been here. Amazing property, plenty of dirt roads and light off roading if interested. Great place for kids to disconnect. The lack of wifi is a pro for my family rather than a con. The kids went to go play on their bikes and explore. The actual cabin is well outfitted with a fridge, stove and three nice bedrooms. There is a main house on the property with wifi if you absolutely need it. We plan on coming back again

Jeff's little slice of heaven by Tahoe National Forest was the perfect retreat for my husband and our dog. Directions were clear, the lights were on when we arrived at night, and it had all the basic necessities to support our weekend of adventuring. We had great hiking access not too far away and then a spot to return to to unwind.

Came here for the third time with my partner and my dog and it was again wonderful! We really enjoy the yurt and the local towns and trails. It has everything we need for a cozy comfy getaway and is near one of our new favorite trails, the independence trail. We usually take our trip in the winter around New Year's but this time we came a bit later, it was fun to come closer to spring. There were more animals about and plants in bloom.

Jeff's place met all of our expectations. It's a cozy cabin with a gas stove, fridge, and a pull-out couch which was decent. We brought our own bed linens and comforters. We were not expecting hotel bedding and knew what to bring. It was cold at night, but the fireplace kept us comfortable. We have enough experience camping and using fireplaces, so it was not an issue for us. We cooked our meals and took warm showers. Our dog had a great time wandering the endless forest behind the cabin. We had all the privacy we needed, yet Jeff was always available and responsive in communications. He gave us great suggestions for hiking and snow play.
On the day of checkout we had over a foot of snow, and Jeff helped clear the path for us to get to the road. We had 4WD so had no problems, but I definitely don’t recommend a 2WD during winter conditions. The I-80 road closure and chain mandate usually happen a couple of miles north of Jeff’s exit, so the location is perfect. It’s 40 minutes to Truckee and 30 minutes from Auburn.

What a magical place! My wife and I booked this LAST SECOND for Valentine's. Anna communicated immediately with me and helped facilitate our VERY last second stay. She made sure we understood what to expect and answered all of my questions nearly immediately. The yurt is on the property in close vicinity to the main house but it appears Anna stays in the tiny house next to it out of site from the yurt area, which provided us with a great sense of privacy and it's obvious she respects that, which we greatly appreciated! We brought our long haired daschund with us and she had the time of her life exploring the area, and never barked, for once! The bed was very comfortable! Bring your own bedding though, it's made up to be slept on top of. She provides extra clean blankets which was nice. The silence of the area mixed with the unbelievable stargazing made for a perfect getaway. We paid for the fire pit option and when the propane had ran out even though she was off property at the time she immediately helped out with our options! Thank you for that!
I would absolutely recommend this place as a very fairly priced and awesome stay. Anna's prompt communication and help was most appreciated!

Weekend Trip to The Land: An Off-grid Refuge
We loved staying at The Manzanita bus! The host Rachel was so friendly and helpful when it came to things around the bus even helped us start a warm fire ! The shower and compost toilet were right around the side of the bus so no walking far during the night. The stove was easy to use and having warm water in the sink and shower was a plus! We had an amazing time and would love to stay here again! 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy private place to stay!
