This was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. You already start to feel calm just driving to the yurt, and when you get there, it's a perfect, cute little fairy haven. It is spotless, perfectly fitted for comfort and aesthetics, with a wildly comfortable mattress, sheets, and pillows. You'll desire everything in the yurt, from the old school vintage fridge to the Marshall speaker. It's also got everything you need for staying in and cooking, or nearby Nevada City downtown has lovely spots to eat and listen to music. The bathroom is a full, comfortable bathroom directly attached to the room. The swimming spot 6 minutes' drive away is one of the coolest locations I've ever been with perfect temperatures, at least in June. Thank you so much for this stay, my first HipCamp stay!

We had an absolute blast staying in the yurt. It was extremely clean, warm and cozy. Big snuggly bed with lots of pillows and fluffy bedding. It had a perfect little kitchenette and fridge and very nice attached bathroom/shower. Sitting on the little porch looking out at the green fields and tree covered mountains was absolutely wonderful. It was very close to Nevada City (less than 15 min drive) but felt much farther away. It was very quiet and peaceful. The host David was extremely friendly and hospitable. He even contacted us before our check in to see what time we'd be arriving and if we needed anything special/extra. Great guy. We even got occasional visits from his sweet dog Billie Jean (after he confirmed that would be ok with that--we're dog people so we loved it). If this type of lodging is up your alley, I can't say enough good things about our stay here. We come back to GV/NC fairly often (I grew up there) and we'll absolutely stay in the yurt every time moving forward. It's so much better (and more affordable!!!) than any hotels in the area. Amazing weekend--THANK YIOU DAVID!!!

David was a wonderful host! We happened to go the weekend of the huge snow storm and it sure made for an adventure. We had some snow-related hiccups (like power outages) but he was very helpful in making our trip comfortable and still a huge success. We will definitely be back!

The stay was beautiful! The yurt is so nice and cozy. The heater warms the place up in minutes. The check in was smooth and seamless. The property as a whole is so lovely and peaceful!

David's yurt is beautiful and has absolutely everything you need for a very comfortable glamping experience! The land is picturesque and David is a very attentive and kind host. I traveled with a friend and the yurt was plenty big for both of us - even with a couple of very rainy days we felt like we had plenty of space, and my friend was happy to report that the blow up mattress was very comfortable. I will definitely be back!

The yurt.bathroom is exactly as shown in the photos. Comfy bed with clean sheets, reliable wi-fi, good circulation and cooling, good kitchen facilities for light cooking, mini speaker to pair with, great shower, nice seating areas inside and outside the yurt, easy to locate, lockbox made entry/exit smooth and great restaurant options in Nevada City. Highly recommend Stone House for dinner and South Yuba State Park for a day trip. Minor downsides: pillows were all way too dense and kitchen counter/stove/sink cleaning was overlooked. Dogs greet you upon arrival (we love dogs!) We would happily stay here again. Thanks, David!

Fantastic all around! I would absolutely recommend staying here to my friends and family. The yurt is cozy, cute and has everything you need. The property is private and peaceful. Driving to town is quick and Nevada city is definitely worth the visit. I hope to make it to the river during my next stay here. Highly recommend

I didn't stay at the Yurt but helped my daughter and her boyfriend arrange their stay. They loved it - they hound it very comfortable and clean. They loved the natural beauty as well as the yurt's close location to the Yuba and town. They said it had everything they needed. Connecting with David was very straight forward. He was very responsive and helpful.

Hands down the best Yurt I’ve ever stayed at. This is glamping at its best. Comfortable bed, flushing toilet, nice shower & full kitchen which we used to cook our breakfast. Swamp cooler kept us cool on the hot afternoon & just use the fan at night. Excellent WiFi connection. I watched movies at my iPad & never buffered. It was a beautiful property. Well cared for. David was an amazing host! He welcomed us & our doggies & even gave us suggestions for good swimming spots which we enjoyed a lot. Close proximity to downtown Nevada City & Grass Valley. We go here every year & love eating at the breweries & walking around downtown. I highly recommend it & would definitely come back.

Luxury Yurt w Full Bathroom!
An incredibly charming and spacious luxury glamping experience set in the woods surrounded by trees and fields. It essentailly had all the amenities of home including a kitchenette, several appliances, a fridge, a bathroom, heating and cooling.
One of the most wonderful things is opening up the front door in the early morning or early evening and seeing the sunlight beam down onto a butterfly field just outiside the front door patio view.
The yurt is also located a quick 10 minute drive into Nevada City and just a few minutes from Yuba River and Scotts Flat. I would highly recommend staying for a long weekend.

We enjoyed our stay on David’s land, he was a great host! The yurt was super cute and decorated well, with a nice kitchen. We enjoyed eating dinner on the porch overlooking a beautiful meadow. We enjoyed how close the location was to town! We would love to return!

Our stay at David's was great! He was welcoming and offered great local tips. The yurt was clean, private, and thoughtfully set up. The location was perfect: close to Nevada City, and with easy access to access the river. Highly recommend!

We loved the yurt! It’s so beautifully appointed with a super comfy bed, a couch, great kitchen with everything you’d need and custom furniture that David had made specifically for the yurt. Both the heater and swamp cooler worked perfectly. The attached bathroom is awesome. David’s property is very pretty with a great view from the porch of the yurt. He’s on site and was super helpful and kind but we also felt like we had privacy. Historic downtown and the yuba river are super close. There’s also a nice little loop in his hood which turns into a dirt trail if you want to walk off dinner or take a stroll with your pup. David also made our dog feel super welcome. Would absolutely come back and highly recommend!!

We had an amazing time staying at the yurt on David's land. The yurt is even better in person than in the pictures - the bed is comfortable and warm of chilly nights. The attached bathroom is awesome with a nice warm shower. The yurt is spacious - we had 2 adults, 1 child (4 years old) and our dog and we all slept comfortably. We would absolutely come back again and highly recommend this experience.

The yurt was big, clean, modern, and had everything you needed. We thought we would have been a little more remote, the yurt is in a wooded community near a road. The road wasn’t too busy but if you are looking to be in a secluded area this is not. It is close enough to town and lots of hiking trails which was a plus.

What a charming neighborhood located minutes from everything! In three days we played in the snow. Warmed ourselves in sunshine by the Yuba & met great folks in town over delicious food. The yurt was clean, cozy & well supplied with quality furniture & bedding. All the Stars!! 10 out of 10!
