This is such a lovely place to camp, especially for a group, or with dogs! You are in a private area, surrounded by vineyards, orchards and rolling hills. It’s definitely at the top of our favorite places to camp! Hosts are great people.

We loved our stay at Dana’s ranch! We camped there for two nights and had a wonderful experience. Dana was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. The property has beautiful, private trails perfect for quick hikes. We would absolutely recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back!

A lovely spot to stay the night when looking for a place in Pas Robles. Our travel van fit perfectly under a beautiful oak tree. The hosts had cleared a path to a sandy beach on the Salinas River. We’d most likely stay here again.

I most enjoyed my time at Roads End. The site is extremely secluded and offers the amenities of a full service campground. It doesn’t get better. This was by far the the best Hipcamp I’ve seen in my cross country travels. I highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Feather River Ranch+solar pool+spa

There is so much land! If camping is your thing, or boon docking, this is a nice place to do that. The pool is nice and clean. Actually the whole property is well cared for and clean. Family is nice too. The property is far enough out of town to feel more secluded but also close enough to pop into the store if needed.

Weekend Trip to Coyote Mynt Ranch, Paso Robles

We stayed in a charming recently renovated Airstream trailer located in a clearing in the low forest of the coastal range. Local wild life was abundant and dramatic ranging from ground squirrels and woodpeckers to deer and a red tail hawk. Mid April in the low 80s was pleasant~much lower starts to get “prepare for it” cold at night. Just north of loads of wineries. Expect tasting fees with 2-3 ~$60 bottle minimum purchases and you should have a good time. Lots to do in Paso Robles, just ask around.

Stayed for 2 nights with my pup in camper van. Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and set up @ camp. Site 1 occupied 1st night, can see twinkling lights at other site, but can't hear them, still felt private. Had 2nd night all to myself! Horned owl hooted away in the tree right outside and was cool to hear! Morning sunrise and chirping birds was lovely. Host is responsive and I had a chance to meet them briefly when they checked to make sure all was good. Def recommend the hour drive to hike Simeon Bay Trail right at Hearst Castle-stunning

Weekend Trip to Organic farm and horse camp

We tent camped at her horse property. Communication with owner was easy and she responds quickly. Once we arrived, everyone working there was very helpful. It was a little bit tricky to figure out where we were supposed to camp. The sites didn't have any obvious signs and didn't look like camp site areas. A couple of camping areas were just surrounding the barn but weren't obvious to us. The barn had a nice bathroom, warm water which I loved. Unfortunately, the night we stayed it was raining but luckily we camped in a grassy area. There was an electrical connection where we were able to easily charge our phones and use our light connection with an extension cord. The location of her farm is perfect. Close to various areas of interest. We just used the camp site to sleep and shower since the area has a lot of things to do.

Stunning, spacious, easy. It was a simple and perfect spot! Even twinkle lights and expansive views. Makes a great spot to sit- or jump off from if you opt to spend a day at the coast. We had neighbors the 2nd night and it was still private feeling.

We’ve camped at spot #1 and spot #2 didn’t disappoint. Location is great and I definitely recommend. Having water and electricity is great. Love the fact that it’s less than 30 min to Paso Robles. We will be back!

We loved camping on this beautiful, peaceful, secluded ranch near Lake San Antonio and Mission San Antonio de Padua. We were blown away by the giant rabbits running through the nearby olive orchard.

The property was private, quiet, beautiful. Amenities like the fire ring. Picnic table, power and water were perfect and unusual for a hipcamp. Loved it. We will be back.

It worked well for a quick overnight! Close to town and hosts seemed very nice (though I didn’t meet them). The site itself is a large fenced-in field behind the host’s house (gated). No amenities - you just get the field - but it felt safe and worked great being self-contained in a van. I imagine the river would be beautiful in the spring/summer!

Peaceful and private RV camping under the oaks with picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. We currently have two sites on our property. They are about 300 feet apart and not easily visible from each other. Property is fully fenced; both sites are next to an open field under the oaks with vineyard, olive orchard and mountain views. This property is 30 miles from Paso Robles and almost perfectly centered between Missions San Antonio and San Miguel. Lakes San Antonio and Nacimiento are close by. Coastal towns of Cayucos and Morro Bay are about an hour scenic drive, passing many wineries along the way. There is space for multiple RVs or additional tents sharing your party's RV restroom facilities. Site one will accommodate sixteen people and multiple vehicles. Site two will accommodate ten people and two vehicles. For larger groups we ask that that you book both sites. We have hosted many family reunions and the feedback has been 100% positive. Smith Ranch

It transitioned into a cattle ranch in the early 1900's when Archie Smith married into the Lynch family. The Smith family continues to raise cattle on the ranch and enjoys all that the Smith Ranch has to offer. Learn more about this land:Spend a night on a working cattle ranch with history dating back to the late 1800's. Once the original Lynch Ranch, the Smith Ranch offers a primative, dry camp with easy access down a dirt road and plenty of privacy. Tucked back in the Oak trees, you'll have views of Tierra Redonda mountain and the Coast range. (Cow camp is just over the hill from Hearst Castle but takes an hour and a half to drive to the coast and San Simeon.) The ranch also offers some of the best star gazing this side of the Sierras!
