The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years. There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence. While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking *The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV. Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

Overall this is a beautiful campsite. There is a delicious restaurant on the premise and the people who work there were very helpful. This particular site is next to the bathroom, which I didn’t realize when we booked it. There was also a bush of poison oak towards the back. But it is also one of the largest sites which fit our family well. We definitely will come back!

Tammy and her husband were extremely welcoming and responsive. I got in late one night and was in the middle of a 12 point turn when they came out and helped me get set up. The area is lovely, with a big meadow space to walk my dog and a creek behind the sites. The whole place feels like a secluded getaway. It is right next to the highway (very convenient!) but I didn’t hear any noise in the RV section. Great experience, will be coming back for sure!

Super clean, comfortable, and quiet campground in the middle of the woods. No issues with any sort of creatures. There were multiple dirt roads through the trees the kids could ride their bikes on and explore. There is also a rad pond and waterfall the kids got to explore. Plenty of space to play and relax to escape life for a little bit. Highly recommend if you are going to Lassen or hanging in the area

Weekend Trip to Mill Creek Resort

This campground is thoughtfully laid out, offering a great mix of tent sites, cabins, and a handful of RV spaces. We stayed in Site #2, which was a perfect fit for our 28-foot RV. One of our favorite parts was falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the creek all weekend—it was incredibly relaxing. The managers were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. Whether you enjoy walking, hiking, or taking scenic drives to explore the area, this campground is an excellent base for outdoor adventures. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

Great location close to the freeway, many things to do nearby. I am not sure the name of the man who owns it but he was very friendly & explained everything well when we arrived. Our spot was a good spot next to the creek. It was quiet and we didn’t have any interaction with anyone staying there. There were quite a few people and everyone was respectful. The bathrooms were clean. There was outdoor games by the office my kids enjoyed. We would stay there again if we were in the area. Thanks for the place to stay for a couple days !!

Nice small campground with ideal access to Lassen. We spent a couple nights near the end of a 9 week road trip and loved it. Nothing like a small creek running along the back of your campsite. Well shaded thanks to so many trees which help with the private feel from site to site. Easy enough to back our 21 foot trailer in, but a few more feet and it would have been tricky. Great to have well maintained utilities.

Booking was easy. Close to freeway so it was very convenient. Noise from the freeway was not an issue. Site was very clean and level right next to a small stream. Easy to use grill provided. Shady trees. Bathroom was clean and very usable for me and my wife. Friendly folks at the office. Great spot for an easy overnight. We will definitely be back.

Such a lovely experience! My partner and I messed up and Gerardo could have easily turned us away for not meeting their hipcamp site requirements, and didn’t. He was very kind and we felt very comfortable. Such a quite spot, definitely recommend!!
