Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Our family has owned this property for nearly fifty years. We currently have one site available - “Desert Mountain Scenic Overlook” - at this time. More sites coming soon! Learn more about this site: This campsite is extremely private and serene with beautiful epic views and a wide open feel. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.

From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Pets are welcome. We provide dog kennel. There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt. Not to far there is a Casino, small store and a restaurant and about 30 minutes away from the Temecula wineries. You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). and has indoor and outdoor lights and electrical outlets to plug in a fan or your phone We have a cooler for you to use bu you will need to provide your own ice. We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy. PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance. FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). and has indoor and outdoor lights and electrical outlets to plug in a fan or your phone We have a cooler for you to use bu you will need to provide your own ice. First time using Hipcamp and had a great experience in general. Directions were sent in a message confirming the trip before I left with a google maps pin which made finding the place effortless. At the gate, they had a QR code with a detailed little map which was also nice. Plenty of signage to find the campsite. The campsite included the upper and lower section. Could fit 5 + vehicles there. Dark or city overviews available for both star gazing and sunsets. The large rocks really made it special. If you have a big rv, 30ft +, then 4wd is a nice to have to avoid tearing up there track and peace of mind for a couple of spots getting in and out. Good spot for big rvs or tent camping in the upper section next to the fire pit.

3 nights at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

We had fun at this site which is very private and secluded on top of a hill. It takes about 3-5 minutes to walk to the very clean restrooms at the Oak Grove. There are 2 large pads at this site and 1 is level next to the firepit great for Tents or a smaller RV. The bottom pad would be better suited for larger RV's or Buses. We were there during a big rainstorm and the very next morning the camp host was out in their offroad vehicle grading the roads nice and flat again. We really appreciate all the care and hard work that are put into this campground. Very fun times!

1 night at Detour n De Luz Fallbrook San Diego

Purposefully came out during the rain expecting a complete disaster and was happy that it wasn't. Moving around was actually pretty hard so as stated in the description bring hiking poles is recommended. Ideally a backpacking set up would be great as moving up and down the hill is hard and hence why they offer porter services. I would have liked to explore the property more, but due to the rains I hesistated since I did not want to contribute to erosion of the land. Overall it was great despite the once a year rains that CA gets and I would like to come again when it is dry.

2 nights at Holcomb Valley Ranch

Had a great stay tent camping on the Holcomb ranch! Plenty of trees, views, and spots to explore or just hang out. The campsites are well maintained and spaced out from one another with access to individual fire pits and porta-potties. We were a group of 4 with 2 cars and 3 tents, and had more space on the site than we truly knew what to do with. We went mid- November and the first night was pretty cold with it getting just below freezing so make sure you're coming prepared. Special thanks to the camp manager for our stay, Ed -- he was great with prompt contact and instructions for arrival, friendly check ups and information about the site, guidelines, and the area.

We had a good time doing a girls camping trip. There was ample space between us and the other campers, there were lots of trees but also great clearing to see the sky, there was a firepit, picnic table, my dog enjoyed exploring the area, and they left water for us to put the fires out. They called to check-in that we were coming, stopped by our site to see how we were doing, and provided clear directions. Already recommended the site to other families! 10/10

Tent was warm and bed was comfy. Would recommend bringing your own linen. Hot showers and flushable toilets were nice. Campsites have everything you need. Juniper flats does allow nudity so don’t come if you think people won’t be doing it… they will be. It was clean and well taken care of, staff was available when needed

The sites were decently far apart and camping in November was absolutely perfect. There weren't that many people around and the whole place was quiet. It's not the easiest road to traverse - mostly our dogs didn't like all the rocking. But overall, I would definitely come back - even if it were during the busy season. Our dogs absolutely loved being able to run around and play.

Weekend Trip to SB Mountain Cabin Rentals

Angel's Nest is a gem - especially at the price! It's a beautiful mountain cabin that has family entertainment in mind. We played shuffleboard all afternoon and switched it up with the arcade machine and basketball; the kids had a blast! Really lovely kitchen, bedrooms and living areas as well! Great for a family mountain getaway. Only warning is: there are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway. Keep that in mind when if that's an issue for you. Martin was also very responsive and hospitable! We will definitely be back!

I love the Oak Grove area because we had a group of women about 12 and we all fit really good with our motorhomes, trailers, tents, cars. It was a beautiful grove. The whole mountain is beautiful thank you so much for making this a beautiful place for everybody to camp and have fun.
