New Yurt City

This was a very neat and unique experience. Jesse, was a wonderful help. He was in charge of the ATV tours, but was sure to ask us if we needed anything, including store runs. He made our stay as comfortable as possible. The setting isn’t for everyone, it’s obviously in the desert so there’s animals owned by neighbors (you might hear dogs, or roosters), and of course the wild life, we ran into a scorpion or two lol. The two dogs on the land, own by Jesse are two very sweet girls, and mind their own. It’s a very “dry camp” experience, with an out house. Kyle mentioned that showers are for long term guest only so be prepared for that, depending on your comfort levels. Their camp is still developing, but their great people, and the vision is beautiful. We ended up doing the atv tour, and Jesse showed us some very uniquely stunning landscapes and views. It was a great mixture of fun, thrill, and romance. He made such an impression that we fed him before we said our goodnight. If you’re a local, please support them. They have some great things in store, and please be kind. leave their land better than you found it. Thanks Kyle and Jesse!

I wish I’d realized the length and condition of the dirt roads in that area before booking. That would be a helpful detail to include on the listing. We arrived after dark and the signage wasn’t great. We went the wrong way a couple of times, which isn’t good since the area is remote with some sketchy looking neighbors. New Yurt City was very run down. We were afraid to get out of our vehicle due to the barking dogs that kept chasing us and actually trying to bite our RV’s tires! And I was afraid I’d accidentally run over them! We ended up stargazing from inside our vehicle. Our site did match the pictures of it.

Must of the amenities listed aren't actually available. the "yurt" city is literally just a bunch of broken down campersand trash. The yurt we were promised was already taken by someone else. We left as soon as we saw the place.

Really awesome spot

There was not many people around and it was a great escape from city. Exactly as described. I got to see inside one of the yurts on site and it was incredible! The staff are really kind and helpful. Makes you feel like family!

Loud dogs but great place

This seems like a great campsite. I only stayed one night, and arrived when it was dark, around 9pm. The area around it is a bit sketchy, and the entrance sign is a giant piece of plywood, spray painted with "New Yurt City". We were met by the groundskeeper and some very sweet dogs. The dogs are barkers however, and were barking until about midnight. We were also very close to other campers and could hear their music late into the night.

The previous reviews stating this place was a scam made me skeptical. I'm glad I went with my gut and went anyways. Kyles space is great! Its fun and rustic. He is very welcoming and a great guy. I did not stay in a yurt, but I saw them and they looked cool. The out house was probably the cleanest out house i have ever used. Tip - if youre interested in dirt biking, you have to ask kyle for a link to sign up and reserve a bike or ATV in advance. Also - turns out the place is close to MTN High ski resort. Wish we had known because we would have brought our gear. Definitely recommend this place for a weekend camping trip or even a stop over if youre on the road and need somewhere to sleep.

Scam

This is a scam… STAY AWAY!!!! I arrived and it appears no one has stayed here in a long time. The yurts don’t exist. They were cut up and in pieces on the ground. This is a dangerous scam and I felt I had been lured out there. The host was dishonest. Stay away!!

Had a wonderful stay, besides the wind it's was amazing! Definitely going back soon! The host was helpful and responsive. It was my first time camping in the desert and my boyfriend's first time camping ever and we both had a wonderful experience here.

Kyle’s land was unique, to us it was a special gem! Absolutely beautiful sites with lots of furry friends 🥰 we could have campfires which was a huge perk for us so we didn’t have to go out all the time! If you love to stargaze or even love AtVs rides this is the perfect spot . They have a really good deal for renting/tours! They even have outside bathrooms (outhouse style), and showers! Thank you for everything! We can’t wait to come back😊

This hipcamp experience was what I call ‘travel magic’. I arrived in the dark and was soon greeted by the sweetest dog ever. The location was exactly what I wanted; complete peace in the middle of the desert. The host greeted me like we were lifelong friends and took me for a tour of his property. In the morning a different but equally sweet dog came to check in on me after I woke up. My only regret is that I could not stay longer to go offroading but will be back again. By all means come out and support these great people.

Kickback & Chill

Land access simple; even though I got stuck, management kindly change that by getting me unstuck. Much appreciated! After getting unstuck I was able to settle in for an enjoyable kickback with a night of stargazing. Definitely a place to check out so you can check back in..., and; as a bonus, they have ATV & dirt bike rental. The trails, stargazing, people and visiting dogs are a welcomed experience.

High desert landscapes 🤎

This place is really awesome. You can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and settle into the desert landscapes. It was our first time using Hipcamp and Kyle was a great host! He was very reliable and friendly. The doggos that protect the land are one of the best parts of the land! I’d love to come back again and do the atv tours next time.

Yurts, Tacos and a Friendly Pup!

The yurt was beautiful and it's a very quiet location. The yurt was spacious and had really cute string lights inside and a desk and couches. Our favorite part of our trip was a dog that wandered over to our campsite. We loved him, he was such a sweet boy and very friendly with our kids! If you're in the area be sure to stop by Gourme Tacos! The food was amazing!

Skies here are beautiful! Tire signs were easy to follow to find camp. We ran into Kyle while checking things out and he gave us a tour & some fresh eggs. Was really cool to see the huts they’ve built, are currently working on and hear the future plans. We really look forward to staying again.

kids and i enjoyed the yurt.. bright moon and lots of stars were out. very close knit community on the property - kyle and jesse were amazing hosts. be sure to rent the atv and catch some amazing sunset views. the plot is bare bones so do come prepared to live off grid

Improvements needed but views

It would be best to include bigger signs or lights at night for campers who are arriving at dark. it was difficult to understand the instructions when we could barely see where we were going. we finally found a secluded spot and decided to stay there part of site A. Even so the instructions to exit the campsite aren’t clear. we had to some how drag on travel trailer through the road when there was a possibility it could get stuck. i would say either including a ramp or just allowing motorhomes to stay because it seems trailers were unable to reach the road. Other than that the views were incredible, loved the stars.
