What a cool place to go camping! We were a large group staying for 2 nights to celebrate a 3 year olds birthday. We booked out all the RV/camp spaces.
There was plenty of space for all of our tents and cars to fit. We found a hidden a way space in the trees to hide from the sun during the daytime, and in the mornings and nights we hung out under our canopies.
Occasionally there was some wind, but luckily we had the right equipment and also found cinder blocks laying around that we used.
The bathrooms were well insulated, had lights, and a sink with running water. There was toilet paper, but you may want to bring extra if you run out. The women’s bathroom had a small field mouse in it, and there were droppings, but it didn’t bother us too much.
You will want to bring your own propane to use the fire pit or bbq grill. The bbq is like the types that you might have at someone’s home.
The playground was nice with lots of swings and slides. There was also a play house. Everything was clean and in great condition.
The ostriches were fabulous. You can faintly hear them at night, too. Some of our group did the tour and really enjoyed it.
The owners came by to welcome us and also gave us an ostrich egg as a gift to the birthday boy. We made scrambled egg the next day.
All in all, yes we would come back again. For the beautiful surroundings mountains, the pleasant drive through some winding roads, and a relaxed kid friendly environment.

The place is amazing and so tranquil, And the property owners are super cool! My son and I have been going camping there now for 2 years on his birthdays! Just be kind to the land and always pack out what you pack in!

Great spot for our family of 5. With lots of space for the kids to roam and explore, even had a small playground with great slides.
Camping area had about 2 or 3 other campers and RV area had 1 setup but had enough space to play and we felt our load family wasn’t bothering anyone.
And flushing toilets was definitely a plus.
Although there were trees and some shade I’d recommend bringing your own shade as the shady spots might not be where you need it.
Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in a tent site during a hot weekend in May and I would say it wasn't an ideal time for us. There was not a lot of shade so I recommend bringing a canopy. There was also a lot of flies (big ones) which was a bit of a nuisance. It's also next to a road so we hear the cars pass by even at night. The listing says there's a picnic table but there weren't any in the tent area where we stayed. We saw some on the stage. Maybe we had to ask for one, idk. It's nice that there's a bathroom but it was dirty like it wasn't cleaned in a while. Bring hand soap! There's a garden which hasn't been tended to. It got really windy at night and idk if it's normal or it just happened during our stay. We do love seeing the ostriches and the goat! And the owners are very nice and responsive. Overall I think the place has so much potential. The [current] featured photo for the tent site listing shows people camped in the garden and it's not the actual tent area. The tent sites are in a big lot with no shade and next to the axe throwing and arrow shooting area.

This farm is a great, quiet place to camp (flush toilets a plus). The tour of the ostrich farm is an extraordinary experience led by Lou, the senior farmer of the land, who is a zoologist passionate about his big birds. The two and half hours we spent with him were wonderfully educational and went by fast. The farm is less than a 20 minute drive to the California Poppy state reserve park.

1. Address was confusing. I had a hard time and spent a long time finding the place (Thank God, the owner's daughter stayed with me and text message me, but it was still very confusing.) I guess it was partly my fault because I arrived after dark, but it still wouldn't have been an issue if the address was correct.
2. The bathroom was quite filthy. All 3 trash bins were completely overflowing with trashes.
3. When I asked where the portable water was, the owner mentioned that the water in the bathroom sink would be the portable water. That is not what portable water means. It's a clean water source with spigot, tap, hose where campers can use to fill up their water tank inside the campers. It doesn't mean water in the bathroom sink, particularly when the bathroom is filthy.

I would camp here if I were going to take the ostrich tour or to do other activities. RV camping is in a pretty small dirt lot without designated sites. The bathroom appeared not to have been tended to in quite some time. I enjoyed seeing the ostriches in their yard, which was near where we parked.

Hosts were lovely, responded quickly, and were very accomodating. The man who gave us a tour was very knowledgable; we had never learned so much about ostriches/birds and we had been to other ostrich farms before! Also gave us great tips on where to travel in the area around the ranch. Definitely would visit again, very peaceful place to stay.

This is a great spot for a hop over, or for a big group if you want to book all the tent spots together. The cooking area is communal, and clean and they were very accommodating answering questions about the propane campfire and grill. We went a weekend that was particularly windy, and had to cut our trip short so know the winds can get really powerful in this area. But there was also a wind event in LA county so it may have been exaggerated for us. Regardless, we enjoyed dinner and karaoke at the restaurant down the road where kids were welcome, and had coffee at a new coffee shop with live music closer to Lake Elizabeth. So some lovely things to explore nearby!
Our kids loved having the playground equipment and meeting the ostriches which are wild to see up close. Beautiful views in the morning as well!

I loved the experience me and my boyfriend had camping here; hearing the birds at night was so unique!! We did the archery, ax throwing, and the tour! Highly recommend. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make this an unforgettable experience.

Lovely stay! I really enjoyed learning more about the ostriches during the tour. Lou was very informative. I also went home with some of the ostrich oil heat cream. It’s listed in the breakdown as $20 but I was charged $25.. just something to be mindful of. But all in all loved the experience and would stay again!

I had no issues with my stay Jessica was very quick to respond, left plenty of information for me to find the property/entrance/site. I was bikepacking so It was just my bike & tent.
Ground was soft and flat.
Area was quite.
Price is good

You can see some Big Ole' Birds
10/10 would bird again.

I had an absolutely wonderful and truly unique experience at Josh & Jessica’s Tent Camp @ Working Ostrich Ranch! From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel right at home. They were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, offering clear instructions and being very accessible throughout my stay. Their attention to detail really showed, especially in how they prioritize the safety of the magnificent ostriches—this is definitely not a petting zoo! It's a real, working ranch, and the rules in the description are there to keep both guests and animals safe.
The elder rancher is a fountain of knowledge—his stories and insights were fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. It was clear that he has a deep respect and understanding of the land and animals.
My campsite was tucked away in a peaceful corner by the archery range—an ideal spot for stargazing under the open sky and listening to the enchanting sounds of the surrounding wildlife. I loved the rustic charm of the site, which offered a sense of solitude while still feeling completely safe and well-maintained.
I’m already planning to return for a longer stay next time. I’d love to take the ranch tour and maybe even try an archery lesson! If you're looking for a memorable and peaceful camping experience at an authentic working farm, I highly recommend this spot. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind HipCamp.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms were close to the site, there was so much to explore and they offer fun activities. The host was very kind. The views were immaculate and we loved seeing the ostriches before we went to bed and right when we woke up. This was such a pleasant experience, will definitely be coming back!

This spot was chill! It’s easy to find, set up, and was a fun, novel stay! it was so quiet you could hear the birds flapping their wings and it was a lovely evening. A nice time out. No toilet paper in the bathroom, but not sure if that’s normal or was a mishap. Either way, all around a nice time. Thanks, Jessica and Josh!

Very unique and affordable campspot that's ~30 min away from Santa Clarita and Lancaster. Fantastic restaurant 3 min away called "The Rock Inn." Bathroom situation is acceptable but could be improved.

A very affordable and accessible tent spot that was great for a night. The real unbeatable experience was meeting the ostriches, which I highly recommend- they’re otherworldly. Lou was also welcoming, informative, and a great dude. I’ll be back around the ranch again someday.

I loved the open space. The ability to see the stars at night unlike ive ever seen before. The ostritch farm was really cool. The kids were a little scared bc they've never seen a bird that big before. The axe throwing and archery stations were really cool. We have never camped before. This was our first time. And our biggest thing we loved about the place was enjoying mother nature knowing that if u did not have a reservation, u were not coming in. That little sense of security helped give us peace of mind.
