The cabin is so cute and easy to find/access! It was less than a 5 minute drive from the lake and there were lots of trails nearby. The trails were a bit tricky to navigate with little signage so we didn't venture too far but the views were still great. I would recommend bringing essentials (shampoo, body wash, coffee) but the cabin had pots, pans, toaster, dishes, etc. I would definitely recommend this cabin for a relaxing slow paced weekend away!

We had the most wonderful time staying at this beautiful cabin, was very hard to leave!
Really did feel like home, so cozy and comfortable.
Just a few minutes from some very special spots, such as inspiration point where you can witness a truly spectacular sunset, also the very cool Black Dog Social Club, had a lovely time listening to live music there, sipping on a beer overlooking the lake… just perfect. Thank you to Jodi and family for opening up this unique and beautiful home, we’ll be back!

Eagles nest should be called ANGELS nest.
Adorable space with 1 full bed and 2 bunk beds. It has all the commodities needed to disconnect and decompress from the city.
You can heard the quietness of the mountain in the back yard.
My 8 and 4 year old glamping experience was here.
The place was suitable for their house needs such as bathroom, shower, dinning table and comfortable bed.
Jody is an amazing host and you can feel this space as a true family home.
We can't wait to go back and enjoy the cabin during winter.

We had a nice stay @ Jodi’s cabin. So quiet and quant. The boys loved playing the ring toss game in the backyard and with the provided Lego’s and giant sized jenga game. Short drive to the lake too. :)

I picked this beautiful cabin based on allllll the great reviews and we were not at all disappointed. This cabin has so much charm and warm energy. You can actually smell the wood which is something I love. It was the perfect place to spend time with my boyfriend and nephew. Made great food, had fun with a warm fire in the fireplace for s'mores (it rained pretty badly the first night so the fire was so welcoming). Just a magical place for all the examples and reasons others listed. Jodi you are the best!! Thank you and your family for sharing your space with everyone.

Engles Nest is such a special place! The cabin was perfectly outfitted, thoughtfully decorated, and so cozy for our weekend getaway. I loved reading about Jodi’s family’s legacy in Green Valley Lake. Nearby trails were so fun to explore! Will be back!

It was an absolute pleasure staying here. We were pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful the hosts were from having a grill to cook to a coffee maker and even having seasonings for our food was a delight to see because we hadn’t thought of it while shopping.
The lake is only a 5 minute drive and is the most peaceful place to be. You can rent a row boat and get the full experience of being out in the middle of it all and taking in the sights.
The woods we hiked were calm and serene, the entire trip was a paradise of pleasure and we felt more connected to nature and ourselves.

We didn't recieve the code to the lock box with the key to the cabin, leaving us stranded in the 90+ degree heat for 1.5 hours on my friend's birthday with no cell service.
We eventually got access to WiFi from a kind neighbor, but could not reach the host via phone call or email. The voice mailbox for the phone number was full. Finally, another neighbor called the host's husband, who provided us with the info for the lock box.
There was no apology or outreach from the host for the duration of our trip. We had to ask strangers for help and fend for ourselves. There were also multiple dead insects in the bathroom once we were actually able to get in to the cabin.
The host refused to provide us with a refund and again, has at no point contacted me to apologize or try to make things right. While the cabin itself was nice, I cannot reccommend this rental because of the poor and lacking communication with the host.

The Engels Nest- Trails all around!
The Eagles Nest Property was very nice and cozy. I love to cook, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom was modern and clean. The washer and dryer was very convenient. There is a 15 minute walk to the lake which had a bar and a couple restaurants.

Super cozy cabin with all the basic necessities and a great fireplace. We felt very welcome and at home. Space heaters in each room, along with tons of blankets were appreciated as I hate being cold and was not. Definitely trails all around! Inspiration Point is a must, and there's a tiny GVL museum just down the road if you are there Saturdays 2-4pm. We never needed our car for adventures. Jodi was a great host. Responsive to our several last-minute questions (wifi works great!). And birdwatching on the backyard porch was worth the trip.

Our family loved The Engles Nest! Felt right at home, it was cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend together. Jodi has a binder filled with info about the cabin and instructions that came in handy during our stay, There was so much snow, so we didn’t get to enjoy the trailing but our kids got to enjoy some sledding in the snow hills and even made a snow man. We are definitely planning a 2nd trip to enjoy the rest of what Green Valley Lake has to offer.

The cabin was such a wonderful mountaintop escape to get away for a couple days! Clean, spacious, and cozy - it gives you the vintage cabin vibes and sets a great tone for Green Valley Lake. Loved having the creature comforts of washer/dryer, and full kitchen to cook a nice meal, and Wi-Fi/TV/Streaming to wind down and stay warm at night. Thank you so much for having us!

Jodi’s cabin was absolutely amazing. Jodi was an extremely accommodating hostess. I loved that she included a binder with the history behind the cabin and with information about the town. The cabin was very comfortable and cozy. The perfect way to start the fall season. There is a wood burning fire place but no outdoor fire pit. Also, the kitchen was full with any utensils, some spices and a coffee maker. The trails around the corner we’re easy and beautiful. Thank you for letting us stay in your cabin Jodi!

Absolutely loved the stay. It's very family friendly environment and the neighbors are so amazing. The lake is down down the road less than 10 minutes and hiking trails are to the right just down the road less than a 5 min walk. The cabin is a great stay as the host provides alot of amenities that you would need along with plenty of games for the family to play. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The Engels Nest provided indeed what the title promised and more. The trails are all around and within a 10 min walk, and climbing some rocks, you will have and spectacular view. The house is very cosy and provides all needed. The kids toys and board games were a welcoming surprise for our two sons.
Green Valley Lake is a beautiful, quiet but welcoming small mountain town. The surrounding towns like Arrow Head are definitely worth a visit.
We spent four nights at The Engels Nest and enjoyed the simpleness and southing energy of the cabin very much.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend with our 9 month old baby. The cabin is just perfect, and the town (GVL and Running Springs) so cute, with lots to do. We would absolutely stay here again. GVL is the perfect escape from LA and Jodi’s cabin felt like staying at a family friend’s place, not an airbnb - which we loved. There are other houses close-by, as another reviewer said, but it still felt very private to us.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Jodi's cabin for my 30th birthday weekend. The cabin itself is well designed, has great "cabin vibes" without being too rustic, and had everything we wanted/needed (lots of kitchen supplies, fireplace, comfortable bed, TV/DVDs, and games). It's probably the best cabin we've stayed at in the area, likely because it's a family cabin and not just a vacation rental. Green Valley Lake is also a fantastic alternative to the bigger, more touristy Big Bear. We enjoyed hiking, walking around the lake, viewing the sunset at inspiration point, and visiting a couple great country-style restaurants (about 15 min from GVL). We highly recommend driving down to Old Country Coffee Shop for breakfast/pie!

This cozy little spot was the perfect getaway for some peace and quiet. It had everything we needed! All the kitchen amenities, movies, board games, blankets and electric heaters were wonderful to have. Shower was hot and had good water pressure. We loved having those hiking trails walking distance from the cabin. Would love to come back here.

Great spot for a weekend getaway. Cozy cabin. Scenic hikes just a short walk away from the cabin. There were 6 of us and a dog, we all fit comfortably inside. Nice areas to hangout in the back of the cabin as well. Green Valley Lake is a nice little town, beautiful lake right in the center of town.
Bring your own firewood for the fire place as that is not provided. One downside is the propane tank for the bbq was empty so we had to drive to the next town to get the last one the gas station had. Besides that everything else is provided inside and everyone had a great time.

This was a great cozy cabin perfect for small groups or a couple! I didn’t feel like anything was super dated and felt all the furnishings were great. I loved how quiet the neighborhood is if you are looking for some R&R. I also loved the forest so close and was a nice simple hike.

We had a great time at The Engels Nest! The cabin was comfortable and perfect for our family and we loved that our dog got to join us. The hiking trails nearby offered endless options to wander and the views from the ridges nearby were spectacular. There is a boat, which is kept on the lake, and it was fun rowing it around the lake. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the cabin to anyone looking to escape into to the mountains!

The cabin was the PERFECT getaway. The weather was great while we were up there and we loved starting and ending our days with a fire in the fireplace. The space was cozy yet roomy and it was a great place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy time with friends!! Our favorite part was inspiration point at sunset—the best way to end your day! Just a 30 minute drive to big bear, a 15 minute walk to green valley lake where you can enjoy a row or a walk around the lake, and trails all around the cabin to enjoy as well!
