Shadetree Overlook
There were some noisy neighbors but the hosts were quick to deal with it. I also wish I read the review about foxtails being present. We were having to constantly check our dog’s paws and nose in case we had to take her in for emergency surgery. Finally, the roads leading to the campground were a little difficult to navigate with our dinky Prius so be cautious about that.
Otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The view of the hills from the overlook was so serene.

I decided very last-minute to stay a night at hidden Falls, and I’m so glad I did. I will definitely be back whenever I’m passing through this area and I need a place to stay for a night or a few nights. All of the sites are pretty great, just depends on what you’re looking for. I ended up staying at the Jensen Peak site, which is one of the least developed, but my set up was self-sufficient and the valley views were worth it.

Jensen's Peak
The site was a perfect, relaxing disconnect for an evening. The sky's were great at night and the view was fantastic. People in other sites but you wouldn't have known.

I had not planned to go camping or even go anywhere during the Memorial Day weekend. While I was at Costco with the wife, we ended up purchasing a tent. The kids were excited to see the tent and asked if we were going camping. I knew none of the federal or California sites would be available and was about to give up. Then an ad for Hipcamp showed up. I was thrilled to find there we're camping sites available. I had even downloaded the Hipcamp app a year ago but never used it. Luckily, Jordan and Rheanna's site was available.. The photos looked beautiful and the location was ideal. My wife couldn't believe such a beautiful existed only 90 minutes away from Los Angeles. The directions were easy to follow. The view was splendid. Our neighboring campers were just the right amount of distance away. Seclusion without total isolation. Everyone was very respectful of each other. My family really enjoyed a wonderful day and night at Hidden Falls Preserve! We hope to visit again before the end of summer.

What an awesome camping experience. Jordan and Rheanna's land was the perfect getaway. I loved the distance between your neighbors and it was quiet and very clean. Loved the view from our campsite! Would definitely recommend!

Great spot! Sites were well spaced and comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the tree swing the most, and befriending the bugs (which were totally normal, not an overly buggy campground). Very relaxing.

I’m happy I checked out this spot & would def come back. I chose Jensens Peak for the privacy (woman camping solo) & best view. It is also the driest & least shaded so that’s something to keep in mind. All the sites are amply spaced apart & most have a picnic table which is nice. The hosts were helpful and responsive. Probably goes without saying but—it’s tick & foxtail season!

While I hope this review facilitates long lasting business for our hosts, I really want to keep it a secret to ourselves. So many little great touches that gave this stay a fun, friendly and simple appeal. From the star glass lighted paths to the new and fresh picnic tables with a propane fire pit! All sites were spaced apart so well and yet still kept a sense of neighbor about them. What can be said about wood peckers in the morning and fly by visits from hummingbirds! You will enjoy being in nature and not far from a couple of Great Lakes.

Hidden Falls Whispering Winds is a truly serene escape into nature. The surroundings are breathtaking—lush greenery and gentle winds, creates a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to beat. One of the standout features is the thoughtful spacing between campsites, offering a level of privacy that’s often hard to find at other campgrounds. You really feel like you have your own personal slice of the outdoors.
At night, the softly glowing solar lights along the pathways add a magical touch. They’re subtle enough not to disturb the natural ambiance, yet bright enough to safely guide your way. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in the overall experience.

Valley View 1
I really enjoyed the rolling hills and eucalyptus trees. We stayed in valley view 1 and the sight was very large with great view into the valley below and lovely breezes. The whole campground was super nice to hike around in to get up to some even better views that are still accessible for younger kids. We saw a family of owls in the trees of our campsite each night and early morning and got to hear a lively pack of coyotes each night. Even got to see a big toad down near the playground area. We definitely had a great time and would come here again :)

Jordan and Rheanna were awesome! Everything went awesome. Beautiful campsite, great communication , quiet area. I had problem starting the fire pit and they were there right away to help me ! 100 % recommend. Will be back !

We stayed at Whispering Winds. Great campsite! Loved how spacious it was and it was beautiful. I particularly liked it had a good amount of space between us and other campsites. While at the camp site, we bumped into the host and he was very helpful with our questions and making sure we were situated.
From our site, the Portapotties were about 100 yards away and were very clean.
One recommendation - use google maps not Apple Maps to navigate here! Apple Maps took us through an old abandoned road not in use. Had to use Google maps to find the campgrounds.
I would stay here again and recommend it!

My boyfriend and I truly loved it on Jordan and Rheanna's land and have already been talking about when we can go back and visit again. The chilly mornings are beautiful and the sunsets are better. At this location there are available hikes, bathrooms were amazingly clean, and the owners were polite and responsive! I am definitely recommending this location to friends in the future.

Beautiful spot! Hosts were very helpful. The entire campground extends back into the valley. You get some residual noise echoing into the canyon from distance motorcycles or low flying aircrafts, but slept like a baby. The sites are separated enough that you're not on top of each other. I recommend the Shadetree Overlook or Jensen's Peak sites if you're after a great view. They're a bit more elevated and because you're closest to the entrance, you have an incredible view of the sunset and layers of mountains in the distance. Jensen's Peak being the furthest forward with no obstructions. I was able to walk over there and enjoy the sunset from Jensen's Peak when no one was there! Gorgeous views!
For motorcyclists, it's a great spot when dry. I brought my cruiser up to the Shadetree Overlook. I have shocks that give me extra ground clearance and some decent tread. I took the steep dirt route up after the host highlighted it as a potential problem. Good news is you have two ways of going to that site 1) steepish road to left after the entrance or 2) go into the campground and loop back into Shadetree Overlook which is less steep. Dirt, ADV, and Scramblers would be just fine either way. If you have a lowered street bike, I'd stick to the sites below. If it's been raining or suspect it to be muddy for any reason, I probably wouldn't attempt Shadetree Overlook or Jensen's Peak unless you've got a dirt bike, knobby tires, a 4WD or AWD vehicle you trust.

We really enjoyed camping here and want to try out some of the other site next time. Such a beautiful place and so close to home. Incredible view, lovely sunsets and beautiful sunrises from this campsite for sure!

We loved camping here! The site was a perfect spot with beautiful views especially the sunset view and looking at the stars. It was really nice, clean and peaceful. Really spacious away from other campsites. We will definitely come back! The hostess was very friendly and helpful easy to communicate.

Another perfect little retreat in the hills. The hike-in Dragon’s Peak spot is just far enough away from the main camping area to feel alone on top of the world. Plenty of birds and little creatures to keep you company.
