At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. The space fitted our 27 foot Airstream easily and the views were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset when the tule fog happened to be in the valley and we floated above.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

I loved our glamping spot. The free complimentary firewood on the first night and free complimentary extra mattresses were nice for my family and I. the mountain views 360 all around were so pretty! It was also very shaded. We saw many deer, quail, and squirrel by our tent was a treat for my children. The restrooms were not horrible. There is also an observatory nearby so we got to view the stars at night. It was a pleasant trip. The glamp itself was nice and furnished, perfect for my family who usually have a very hard time camping in nature.

The best part was the privacy—the whole place was ours 🙌, offering a perfect, immersive escape into nature 🌲. Joelle has thought of everything you could possibly need. We were pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped the site was; we even found a wine opener 🍷 which absolutely saved our night! While this isn't a hotel and you should come prepared to be surrounded by nature 🏕️, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. A major highlight was the convenience to local gems. The Hartford Family Winery is a quick 5-minute drive 🍇🚗 away, and their wine tasting was incredible. On our last day, we had a fantastic, lazy 5-hour boat trip downriver to Guerneville ☀️😎. Joelle was an exceptionally generous and welcoming host 💖—she even handled our logistics, taking care of our drop-off after we drove our car to Guerneville. Great scenery from virtually every site, with shade, spacious level sites and parking, very clean and nice-smelling bathrooms and showers, easily accessible trails, lots of wildlife (deer, turkey, birds), and all in all a great first glamping experience for me! It will be hard to go back to a regular tent site again…JK. Friendly staff, and a bit ununusal ans a state park being operated as a collaborative of Sonoma Ecology Center and Team Sugarloaf. Great base for exploring by bicycle — we drove our bikes down to Kenwood and enjoyed riding around the area, all the way to Sonoma. Vineyards, small towns, both gentle and challenging bike route options. Or just relax and hike around the park trails. Thank you for a great getaway!

The staff were very helpful and polite. I only wish they would mention on their website they no longer provide fire rings. You will have to bring your own if you want to have a fire. The pool was clean and everyone seemed happy to be there. Note to self. We will make sure to place our RV the farthest point possible away from the road. We could hear cars whizzing by at night.

Weekend Trip to Griffin Holler

We had a great time here. The location is very private and scenic, far away from anyone else. Brian was very helpful in answering any questions and detailed in instructions for the stay. Based on the hills and road surface coming in and out, definitely would make sure to have 4WD and good tire tread if there was any hint of rain on the roads. Our cars were fine, but all were midsize SUV or more capable. Will definitely plan to come back in the future!
