Spectacular skies surround the farm, with roaming chickens, crowing roosters and vegetables, medicinal herbs, and fruits growing - a living model of what is beautiful AND possible in life.
The cozy has a vibe of its own, and sits beside a sweet, peaceful pond, outdoor sitting area, and fire pit. There is plenty of room for additional tents and RV's. The convenience of accessible electricity, running toilets, hot water shower, gas grill and an additional covered sitting area make your camping adventure that much more comfortable.
Super convenient to get here! We're less than 20 miles from the Sacramento Airport, and just a few minutes off of Interstate 5. Yet you'd never know it once you get to the farm and feel the peace and quiet.

Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the
sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four.

Please know that This is still camping and you will be subject to the elements of Mother Nature. Hot, cold, rain, wind, dirt, dust, mud and different animal sounds during the night. When you are here you may see frogs, toads, lizards, snakes (none poisonous) ants, turtles, squirrels, etc..
Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!!
We
also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you.

Ettawa Springs Resort dates back to the 1920s like the fashionable resorts in the Cobb area where the rich and famous came to play. But Ettawa was oriented towards families and a more relaxed and rustic atmosphere. We are working hard to restore her to her former glory. We are excited to announce that we have one cabin and a few campsites ready for use and will be adding more as we go. The campground offers hot showers and flush toilets, two sites in the Glade have running water and power. The cabin is a fully equipped studio with kitchen and bathroom.
You can hike through our property to the Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest or just enjoy the clean air and listen to the wind and the birds. On clear nights the stars put on an amazing show. Clear Lake is about 45 minutes away with all the fishing and water sports you could ask for. Harbin Hot Springs are 15 minutes away and they offer day passes for reasonable rates.
We are located about 20 minutes outside of Middletown. Be aware that half of the road is dirt (and that's better than the asphalt half) all of it is fine for small cars, just take your time. The last 1/2 mile or so is a one lane road, so please be careful of opposing traffic and uneven surfaces. We cannot accommodate vehicles longer than 28’ on these roads. Please do not take County Road 110 from Boggs/Cobb - it is not maintained at all.
We offer California camping at its finest. Fresh air, whispering trees, amazing star fields . . . this can mean the less attractive side of nature as well. We have ticks, rattlesnakes, stinging things, poison oak, uneven trails and surfaces, and a bear on one ridge with mountain cats on the other (no sign of either in the campground). We keep the restroom stocked with Tecnu for the poison oak, but please watch yourselves and especially children. Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on lead and inside at night for their own protection and the comfort of others.
We are fairly hands off in our hosting approach. Unless there's a question or problem, you likely won't see us. But we have people close by and are only a message away.

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is true wilderness, with some development of trails and amenities, at our Calistoga ranch just 10 minutes outside of town, wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers behind the shade screens. The main house is not part of hipcamp; tenants are a nice family but keep to themselves.
Our land is shared by my cousins, uncle, and myself, and I am off-site most of the time. My cousin lives on site but is not part of hipcamp, and our tenants take care of other aspects of the land, but also are not part of hipcamp. For this reason, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time! That means: when I text you with questions, please text back! Read the guide! Lots of issues can be mitigated this way, and you can get maximum enjoyment out of our land.
That said: This hipcamp is a 'leave no trace, clean up after yourself' campground. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox). So again, there is no host on site, but I am very available by text, all times, and there is a caretaker on site for emergencies. If all of this that is ok with you, read on!
We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access and services and the best views.
You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, deer...(some non-edible, but) beautiful wild mushrooms at the right time of year! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike!

Several popular access sites for Cache Creek recreation (rafting, floating) are within a 5 minute drive. The cabins have a indoor/outdoor bathroom with a sink and toilet and a small kitchenette featuring coffee and tea setup, hotplate and mini fridge. You also have access to the outdoor picnic area under the fig tree which has a BBQ, picnic table and sink for rinsing dishes.
There is no indoor shower, but we do have a rustic outdoor shower with hot and cold water.
Tent space
We have a small orchard in front of the Nopal Studio. There is room for two tent sites. No camp fires are allowed in the orchard. If it is winter time, we do have a fire ring in the fig tree picnic area, as well as a propane BBQ.
The bathroom is shared with the cabins.
We have farm animals and dogs which can be loud. The dogs chase squirrels and bark maniacally, and the ducks quack at sunrise, like, lots! There are also spiders, wasps, bees, rattlesnakes etc!! Please be aware, this is snake country!

The River House is far enough from the main road to be quiet and serene but is still just walking distance from the Russian River where you can float/swim all day. The house has incredibly fast wifi as well as an electric car charging port.

Weekend Trip to Nopal Studio And Cabins
Rachel's place was just right. The property is gorgeous and there is a good balance of privacy and also feeling you are part of the farm. She also did a great job of including little touches that make a guest feel well taken care of. I would gladly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway tucked into a working farm where you can see and hear cows, ducks, chickens and more!

Dans land was beautiful and the location was great in terms of exploring the area. There is a lot of poison oak at Manzanitas so I’m might do the shady oak site if you have a dog. The shed has a fair amount of creepy crawlies but the futon was really comfortable and we liked staying in it. The site isn’t tended to very much so plan on bringing your own gear in case items are missing or out of commission. Overall it’s a great way to explore and experience the area if you’re on a budget. I’d definitely come back!

George was a great host; communicative, helpful, and greeted us when we arrived. He’s also a skilled winemaker, so if he’s around during your visit, don't miss out on a tasting! Pups Sara and Nala are great with people, even young children, and we had a lot of fun throwing the ball for them.
The trees next to the pond provided great shade from the afternoon heat, and there were no mosquitoes! That said, bullfrogs recently found their way into the pond from the canals, and they are very noisy at night. Bring earplugs if you need quiet to sleep.
The cabin itself is clean and comfortable inside (and has AC!) but don't forget your own bedding; the futon fit a full size fitted sheet nicely. My toddler and I found the futon to be okay, but there's room in there to set up your own cot or inflatable mattress if you really wanted to, plus plenty of room to pitch a tent outside on the lawn.
At sunset, you can open the gate at the rear of the property to hike to the top of the hills for a nice view (there are free roaming cattle in the area).
It was convenient having well water and a stove already set up for camper use. One tip - a headlamp makes using the restroom much easier.
And this is still the country, so spider webs and other creepy crawlies are around. But if you're okay with that, this is a nice spot to get away from the crowds, relax, and savor spending your days slowly away from the daily grind.

The cabin was small as advertised, but warm and comfortable. Linens, soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. The marina staff are very friendly and helpful. The marina is quiet and peaceful in the off-season. Fantastic birds and beautiful views!

1 night at Nopal Studio And Cabins
I had a fantastic and comfy time at Rachels land. You are on a working farm down a quiet, pastoral road. The farm is hugged by old oaks and grazing fields with colorful singing birds. Their land is dotted with a bounty of fruit trees and sheep, chickens, cows and ducks. It's really like heaven!
The accommodations themselves are clean and cozy and very cute. The cabin itself fits a queen and twin bed, and the room has AC and homey, sweet details and art. Immediately outside the cabin are a few seating areas for eating or conversation/ contemplation, as well as cute ornamental garden beds.
A few steps away, the kitchen was well stocked, including fresh eggs! and kind of rustic chic vibe with reclaimed farmhouse details. Care and artistry definitely went into designing the bathroom too, and it really felt like home.
The space was comfy, easy to access ( not many steps between all the spots I'm talking about and from the parking itself) and it was so memorable. It's just down the road from full belly farm and about 45 minutes from wilbur hot springs. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend the night, and wake up to the birdsong!

Stayed here with my wife, our two small pups, and two neighbors for some quiet time after the holidays.
Space: Well equipped with everything you need for cooking, cleaning up, showers, plenty of blankets, etc. No need to bring anything. Deck is multiple levels and is surrounded by trees. Very serene and relaxing. Wifi is a little spotty, so come here to relax, not work. Tons of beds to sleep in.
Location: Minutes to Guerneville with wineries and restaurants. 10 or so minutes to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Preserve to see some redwoods. 20 minutes to Sonoma Coast State Park for hiking and beaches.
For dog folks: Little bit of a challenge to find a potty spot since the backyard is 90% deck and very little ground, so make sure you bring poop bags to clean up.
Great stay. Cozy and tons of options for nearby adventures. Would definitely come back.

We had a delightful stay at the Kimball family farm. Our host was wonderful! The place was so peaceful. The weather in mid October couldn’t have been more perfect! The cabin is full of potted plants. Highly recommend the wine tasting! 20 minute drive to UCDavis which was the purpose of our travels. Will stay again.

There is a small group of cows that graze behind the cabin, cute chickens, and a very friendly and sweet dog. If you like animals this is the place for you. Hosts were friendly and the cabin had an AC unit.
