Weekend Trip to Thompson Palms Campground

This is a great property. The owners are wonderful and make you feel so welcomed. Site 1 is great for a larger rig while site 3 has the open view of the palm grove. My grandkids loved the farm animals and koi pond. We will definitely be back and will recommend other visitors from out of town to camp here.

Was a wonderful place. Directions to site were perfect. Erin was so accessible via messaging for any questions. Big location for my large trailer. Table and chairs clean and even hookups. The little organic store is just dreamy really. Picked up eggs for breakfast! What a special place!!! Thanks so much for letting me stay!

Weekend Trip to Loomerland

We loved the sweetest dogs we ever met and all the farm animals! The baby bunnies and goats were a special treat for our kids. The dogs did bark a lot through the night and you gotta be ok with the roosters and birds all waking in the early morning, but there is something pretty cool about living with all the animals that makes that part worth it. There are also many sites with lots of shade!!! That is a big bonus. Watch out for red ants and poison oak. Sean gave us a new campsite so just check to see if they can look over your campsite for these things before you arrive.

Weekend Trip to Thompson Palms Campground

Bernie and Hoa’s place is perfect for Basecamp. You can explore nearby attractions – San Diego Zoo Safari Park, hike to Potato Chip rock or peruse the shops in the small town of Julian. The RV sites are exactly as described. Hoa showed us to our site # 3 when we arrived and Bernie met us later to explain their property. Overall, The Thompson Palms Campground is peaceful. It was entertaining listening their cow talk. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

Shane and Nicole’s property is sooo beautiful! We camped at the Glamp in the Grove site and it was perfect. There was a structure that was great for putting our tent in, an outhouse + handwashing station, two tables, two chairs, and a fire pit (that we paid extra for). Shane was also super helpful and responded quickly which was appreciated. Thank you for an awesome stay Shane and Nicole :)

My son and I loved camping at Loomerland! The animals were such a delight to spend time with and the land is absolutely beautiful! Lots of fun things for the kids to do and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The outdoor kitchen was such a great addition to camping too! We will definitely be back!

Our tent site was happy hilltop and had a great view, it’s a short walk down the hill to the animals and toilet, the walk back up is a little steep but not too hard. The bunnies were so cute with babies, cats, dogs, chickens, goats, sheep and pig are all amazing to keep the kids busy. Had a great time and will be back!

Weekend Trip to Skyrocket Ranch

As an avid camper growing up, its my dream to create similar experiences I had as a kid with my daughter in her young years -- Skyrocket Ranch is the perfect place for such experiences. When researching camping locations (my default go-to is the Sierras) we wanted something close to home (LongBeach), that provided the same rugged, remote feel, without the hassles of worrying about over/under packing with a 2 year old. The Creekside camp provided all of that and more. The camp site was equipped with a tent (2 beds) enough pillows and comforters for even the coldest night, stove top grill (propane included), fire pit with seating for 4 and a picnic table. There was a small creek running through the camp that gave a nice serenity feel. The property feat orchards (oranges, lemons, and grapefruits) for picking, a duck pond, and a chicken coup with 2 roosters. Theres a pool but that was out of commission. There was internet access but not always available at the creekside camp site, and running water to do our dishes. Overall I give it an 8/10 -- PROS: remote camping experience, not much required to bring, free fruit, running water, clean bathrooms and shower, solar power generator for charging, super responsive host CONS: no cell reception or internet access (creekside camp) there was internet closer to the house or other campsites (Again this is only important when you have a 2 year old and you want her to settle down with a movie) and I would've really liked a fishing spot

Oak grove was really nice. The sites under the oaks are IMO much nicer to be in the shade. But other sites were good too, but imagine would be really hot in summer. We have a 26’ travel trailer, and it was mildly challenging on the roads leading in, if you are a trailer rookie, I wouldn’t recommend. A few people arrived, only to be told the ‘first come first serve’ site they had already set up in had been reserved... so had to move. Would suggest checking at the site office first. Goats and other animals were great for the kids.

1 night at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

My family, church members, and I had an incredibly joyful camping trip. We were surrounded by nature in a secluded spot, and a herd of goats grazed through our site in the evening and morning, delighting us with their presence. Feeding the animals, the stunning natural scenery, and the starry skies were absolutely fantastic.

Our 8-10yo kids spent lots of time exploring, climbing and flexing their independent muscles, while we safely relaxed back at our beautiful, private campsite. I would like to be able to say that we grew everything that goes into our ingredients, but we are not that good at everything yet! So to keep in the spirit of ethical sustainability along with ensuring a high quality and great tasting product, we purchase ingredients from local organic farmers and shelf products that not only have the USDA Organic seal, but are non-GMO, ethically harvested and in some cases certified Kosher. One day we hope to meet you and share our story with you by introducing you to the fruit trees my father grew from seed and let you feel the soft fiber of our eclectic herd of misfit Alpacas while you watch the glorious Southern California sunset touch the hot desert horizon we call home. I put off going to the doctor for months telling myself I didn't have time and, after this next deadline I'll get a check up.I knew that I needed to change my lifestyle but I wasn't doing it fast enough. We closed escrow on the property in October of 2016 and that November I was in the ER. I almost died. Spent my birthday and Thanksgiving in the hospital.Soon after that I quit my job at the CPA firm and started working from home. Still suffering from complications, that summer in June/July I ended up in the ER again. Even closer to death this time. Since then I've turned around my health. Focused on life on the farm. Raising my animals, my garden and creating a unique experience with the campers. I enjoy sharing this life and my home with like-minded people who want to escape the city and feel a little closer to nature.

Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep. While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.
