It was a great time! The site was great, cooler because of the location next to the creek. It's also pretty secluded within the campgrounds so it gives your group lots of privacy. We had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Camp Watanda at Lake Vera

Camp Watanda is GREAT for kids! So many fun things for them to do. It was fun seeing all the kids running around having a blast. And even though we don’t have children, we enjoyed ourselves as well. The lake was full and we had a wonderful time swimming and paddling around. It’s just a few miles from downtown Nevada City, and we used Watanda as a jumping off point to do a bike ride from there. It was a very hot day, so we enjoyed coming back to camp and jumping in the lake.

As a mother of young children who are yearning for more of outdoor, rural play, best players makes that technology even existed. An amazing family environment, and Greg is a wonderful host! So many amenities and things to do, highly accommodating for children. This place has touched my heart enough to make it an annual camping spot for us. Highly recommend.

Everything was exactly how it was described. The 2 ways in/out were a bit steep, so I was surprised by that, but Brian was very helpful making sure I was able to pull out, which I was with no issue. Brian was very responsive! The water was clean and cold, the porta potty would be better placed somewhere in the shade though, but it was clean. He and his daughter were very enjoyable to talk to, they even gave us a small tour on the side by side, and we had an enjoyable evening on Saturday sitting around a small campfire making smores. He has a lot of plans for the place and I can not wait to return!

3 nights at Starry Hot Tub/Cold Plunge Glamping

Ellie and Jack set a really high bar for our first time using Hipcamp. They were incredibly responsive to any of our questions and made the experience super smooth. We were in awe of the set up in and around the tent the whole time during our trip. The tent was super cozy and comfortable, the outdoor shower was amazing, the hot tub under the stars was memorable, and I could really keep going. Lots of stuff in the area to explore and after 3 days there is only feels like we scratched the surface. Looking forward to going back sometime soon!

Brian’s campsite was great — the views were absolutely incredible. He was extremely helpful with directions and made it easy to find the spot. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place with unbeatable scenery.

2 nights at Camp Nauvoo

My friend and I camped here the days following memorial day and had a wonderful time. We got really lucky and had the entire campsite to ourselves for the two days we spent there. The hike was beautiful and our campsite was Creekside, which was perfect. There’s also a small swimming hole on the property that we spent a whole day at. The lodge was comforting and had coloring books and board games. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were kept clean. I would definitely recommend this site.

2 nights at RockNWater Cove Camping

Kris's HipCamp is a great spot. She checked in with us on day one to ensure we had everything we needed. The site was clean. It was mostly shaded from the oak trees and has a beautiful view to rolling hills, oaks and wildlife. It was a short and peaceful walk to the river. The bathrooms were clean. The downsides for us would be that the Larry and Curley sites are very close to each other. We would only reserve it again if we were traveling with another family who could reserve the neighboring site - and in that case it would be a bonus because we could all be together. I would recommend the Moe site if possible because it's in a more private location just up the road. The other possible downside is the available beach is fairly small and just one small section of the river is accessible for swimming and water play. It was great for us because no one else was there when we were, but I can't imagine trying to share the small area with more campers.

Weekend Trip to Love Creek Sanctuary!

We loved staying at the farm. As soon as we got in the car to go home my kids were asking if we could come back. They especially loved all the farm animals. I loved that they had freedom to wander around safely. We camped under the shade of some beautiful trees and also used the RV. It was great to experience both options and we would happily come back to do either one. Tip: bring earplugs when the peacocks are in mating season :)

Wow! Remote and beautiful. Extremely well maintained with the cleanest port a potties ever. What an enjoyable and relaxing experience falling asleep to the sound of the river. The sites are big and pretty distanced from each other there is cell service clearly marked a short distance away. Loved it!

1 night at Coloma Hilltop 27 Acre w/Riverview

Brian was so helpful and nice really made my family and I comfortable to stay there. We got there late and he was really helpful to show us the spots we could choose from. The kids loved the lights on the trees and looking for wood for the fire and it was plenty to keep it going till we left. Can’t wait to go again.

It's about 200 feet from main farm house and traditional bathroom. The path to and from this unit is steep and a dirt path with many stairs. If you have a 4 wheel drive you can drive right up to the unit. Bring your own sleeping bag or sleeping gear. 2. The Love Shack Tree House and Tent site (sleeps 2) 1 queen bed and balcony that overlooks garden. There is a tree growing inside this unit. There are table and chairs so you can cook on the balcony or the bbq area about 30 feet from unit. So cool! Bathroom and cool shower are 50 feet down a dirt path. Additionally, there is an area to pitch a tent. For example if a family of 4 wanted to split up and 2 in treehouse, 2 in the tent area. There is an additional $18 per guest if you want to use the campsite in addition. Please bring your own sleeping bag or sleeping gear. 3. The Sunrise Suite (sleeps 2) 1 loft twin bed (must climb a ladder ) and 1 couch futon. There an area in front of the unit for 2 people to eat and sit. Common bathroom and shower are 20 feet away. 4. Enchanted Meadow with 3 Serenity Tent sites (max capacity 6) This beautiful spot is great for groups, couples and families. To access this serene, private, nature-rich area, be prepared to walk down a steep path. It only takes 5 minutes to walk down which is the easier part. Walking back up the trail you may feel winded since we are at 2,250 elevation. Best to pack a backpack with your gear if you don't want to make too many trips back and forth to your car unless it's part of your workout :) . There is an activity Teepee / Tipi and we encourage you to participate in the writing, arts and crafts projects! We have wildlife and bears may visit if you have accessible food. So bear-proof your food if at campsite or best to leave in car or farmhouse kitchen. When available, farm-fresh meals can be ordered and delivered to campsites. Otherwise you can prepare cooked meals up near main farmhouse. Other guests may be passing through on the nature trail during your stay but you have the ability to reserve the area as "Private" so no other guests will be visiting. $150/night for the 3 sites or $200/night to block off the entire meadow area for privacy. 5. The Big Deck Experience! (sleeps 2-4 adults. No children due to the height of deck and hot/cold tub) Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sierras, valley and forest from the balcony. Couch turns into a comfortable bed for 2. For additional adults, you need to bring sleeping pads for on the deck. Enjoy meals at 1 or both of the large dining tables. Play the gong and do some sound healing! This space is part of the main farmhouse (owner's residence) and has a beautiful 75 x 15 foot redwood deck with views of the Sierras. This area can be blocked off for privacy from 7pm-10am. At 10 some other guests may come to the area for brunch. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites (can be rented separately). The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe - bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins. Tent sites each have a wood table (bring your camp chairs) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins (litererally 200' away!). It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk. We ask campers to use our property only for land use and river access, NO up or down river access is permitted AT ALL. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

The Rose family bought the property in 2016 with the intent to continue the tradition of tent camping as well as creating opportunities for exclusive events i.e., group/family reunions, weddings and corporate events. We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM (please review). We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play. We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do not do checkins on Sunday but do allow camping over Sunday night. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash. CHECKIN IS BETWEEN 4 AND 8. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE BAY ALLOW 4 HOURS - YOU MUST LEAVE BY 3:00 IN ORDER TO ARRIVE DURING CHECKIN.
