You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. Primal Lands at OZ Family Farm is set in the Rocktree Valley just East of Willits. We are a working family farm about 15 minutes, from the town center.
The camp sites are in a private pasture with views of snow capped mountains in the winter and a beautiful moon rising above the tree tops in the summer. There are two streams that the campsites are located next to. one seasonal and one year round. This peaceful valley is home to an extensive amount of wildlife. It hosts both wild pigs and turkeys as well as deer, bobcats, foxes, rabbits and an occasional mountain lion or bear have veen spotted. You should bring your binoculars because the valley is lined with acres upon acres of forests and wooded hills that are home to an incredible variety of birds and tree species.
We hope our primal land will help expose people to the diverse flora and fauna around them and help educate them to the need to protect the diversity in people, places and our planet. All of which bring an important piece of the puzzle to the table and hold keys to our past and future.
We hope to be able to have the honor of hosting many different groups that can gather here on this land for learning, teaching and cummuning with the nature that flourishes here.
There is an abundance of things to do in and around Willits. It can be your cozy get away to rest, read a book next to the sounds of the stream or hike and ride a bike or a horse down our dirt roads.
The Skunk Train in town can take you on a trip through through the Redwood Forest and Noyo River Canyon towards Fort Bragg. It stops along its route to see the Wolf Tree Redwood. The oldest along its tracks.
You also have the option of booking an excursion on the Railbikes which leave from both Willits or Fort Bragg and use the same train tracks.
If your driving to Fort Bragg you will want to go to Glass Beach on the coast and check out the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens or do a Scavenger Hunt.
There is also the Coast Redwood growing in Montgomery Woods State Park to our south having what was thought for a long time to be the tallest known tree in the world at close to 365 feet tall. It stands 5 stories higher than the Statue of Liberty.
In the town of Willits there a myriad of options. Eclectic shopping at Mazahan or Earths Treasures or classics at The GOOD Shoppe or Art in the Plaza. Gateway games offers weekly card and board game competitions or go visit Ridgewood Ranch, the final home of the legendary Racehorse Seabiscuit.
If camping , hiking and relaxing just isn't enough to fill your day there is golf available in Brooktrails and Mendocino County is home to ten different appellations of wine with over 25% dedicated to organic and sustainable farming.

We have a seperate pasture that can accomodate horse trailers and camp sites with nearly a half mile excercise trail.
You will need to text from Willits for us to meet you upon arrival. You will need to sign a waiver and we can show you to your location. We also will let you know if we have any farm raised products availaable to share.
There is no wifi available on the campsite but upon arrival we will direct you to the main farmhouse, walking distance if you need anything or need wifi

We had an amazing time. Halle was so amazing and helped so much and we were able to enjoy the beautiful sound ceremony in the evening with Karma. He’s truly talented. It was more than we expected.

The land itself is gorgeous. A 5 acre plot with tons of space to hang, and dare I say play, in. Rife with redwoods, gazebos, relaxing Buddhist mantras, an adult playground, and more stars than the eye can see. There were tons of little details that showed just how much Miss J truly cares for this space.
Last but not least, the hosts themselves were incredibly kind and approachable. Would definitely come back here!

I can't recommend this treehouse enough! To start off, Miss J was so sweet and gave us a tour of the whole place before we settled in! You could tell she cared deeply about the land and making all of her guests feel welcome! The treehouse itself was something out of a fairytale - the adventure of staying up in the trees, the serenity of the woods, the spectacular views from the jacuzzi.. everything about this place was truly magical. I can't wait to come back and stay for longer next time!

Moon bear lodge really is the perfect place to recharge and connect with nature on a deeper level. The hosts are absolutely amazing, genuine people, and it has been an honor to be at presence of such a special property. If your brain is clogged, you’re having an existential crisis, tired of people, or simply want a very cozy place to read some books, definitely pull the trigger and check this place out.

2 nights at Wackalulu's Wonderland
Lynda was very friendly and helpful. The property has amazing themed sites to lounge at and are large enough for a group or family if you rent both sites (cabin and boathouse). The cozy cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lynda has taken a lot of time to ensure the cabin is well stocked with useful items so you only need to bring clothes, toiletries, and food to have a great stay. We loved using the hot tub/fire pit at night and reading or playing board games on the covered porch during the day. The dimmable lights in the cabin and on the patio were such a nice touch! The cabin and surrounding area felt very private. The nearby of town of Monte Rio is within walking distance (or a quick drive) and has multiple restaurants (the food from Sarah’s Kitchen in the Highland Dell was very good). This is also a great location as there’s so much to do nearby. You’re close to the coast and multiple small towns to explore. I highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to come back!

We stayed at the Glade campground which was lovely. WiFi great! Power to charge, nice water tap. Toilet right there - very clean. Everything is adorable. The table on this site is cute but very small. We got lucky and no one was staying in the Hollow so we were allowed to use that site which had a nice very private area with a standard picnic table. If we came back we would reserve this spot. Charlie was the person on hand and he was helpful to explain how things worked.

The treehouse is amazing! Such a cool experience, and the entire property has lots to offer - hot tub, playground, outdoor shower, fire pits, etc. Hosts were very helpful and responsive. I believe they were on property, but we were the only guests this weekend and it felt like we were alone which was nice! The “downtown” has some super cute shops/restaurants and there are hikes and activities to do nearby. Would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our two night October camping trip. The private campsite in the redwoods was very pretty and every thing was set up with a lot of care, including carefully planted plants, tended paths, and cute ceramic toadstools. Its a beautiful location and a quick trip down the hill to explore the Coast. Our dog Kona loved it too.

Jessica is a great host, the place was cozy, the location was 30 min away from beach, and 10 min away from a small town. The ladder up was very scary at first but then became easier. We wish there’s a tv in the treehouse.

Lynda and Rich were friendly, funny, and welcoming. Simple check in with recommendations in the neighborhood.
The photos don’t do the property justice - it is beautiful, silly, and unique. Each spot has its own privacy, and it feels like you are in your own little grove.
You’re also right next to a wonderful breakfast/lunch spot, and just a few minutes from the Russian River and Guerneville.
I highly recommend the Wackalulu Cozy Cabin to anyone reading this!

1 night at Moon Bear Lodge
My boyfriend and I had our anniversary getaway here. We were warmly greeted and given a tour of the property, with a few accommodation options shown to us. We were taken up to the treehouse, where we were informed about everything and assured that we could text them if we needed anything. The treehouse was really nice and cozy, and the property itself was beautiful and amazing. The communication with the host was perfect, with updates on who would be greeting us and showing us around. I would love to stay here again. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
